Armys actually created the term "kpoppie" to describe a Kpop stan/fan who hates BTS. Also I love that we have Boracity. She proves her points accurately and logically.
Kpoppie was never made to be used at those who hate BTS though. It's just a term for a general Kpop fan/Kpop stan. Antis are those who hate and do things to try to diminish BTS as 7 or individually.
@@SMHorne I don't know who told you that. I'm sorry you were misled. Kpoppies is a term for the general kpop fan/stan population. But now you got me curious to know if you know when that word came about, how, and why?
So funny story about SuperM…when they debuted #1 on the bb200, armys found out that they got a fraudulent boost in sales from capital records. So basically, capital records allowed global sales to count as US sales…and then shipped the albums to fans globally. So non-US sales counted for the chart. We tried to point this out as a fandom, but got shut down by the kpop community. Even by kpop fans that weren’t fans of SuperM. And it was because they were happy to see a group “end” BTS. I swear I remember this like it was yesterday. They said we were just jealous and didn’t want another group to succeed, but we had PROOF of the fraudulent album shipments happening from SuperM’s own fans tweeting about it lol. In the end, nothing ever happened. I’m pretty sure SM and Capital Records had Billboard on speed dial.
Yup. Anytime something shady goes on and ARMY proves it... Kpoppies get together and just call us jealous. But when BTS breaks yet another record and they claim BTS either bought up their own albums/tickets or something and yet they can't show proof.. we're still the jealous ones. It was easier for them to do in 2013 right up to 2015(And even start crap in 2012 to be honest). But then they got a dose of reality and realized their tactics don't work...(one reason some resorted to hacking ARMY accounts in 2014-2015). They don't get it, and they might never get it.
@@itzmehDevi Yup, BigHit didn't have the funds but actual facts don't matter to people like that, sadly. They'll say anything to get attention and to try and get people to hate who they hate.
You should ABSOLUTELY do a marathon of Boracity covering industry fuckery! BTS vs Spoify BTS vs Radio BTS vs Attendance Award Shows And finish with “Why the Music Industry is so Afraid of BTS”
And if you want to go by topic, the following videos cover more fuckery in the western industry and unpack both the connotations and reality of BTS being lumped in with Boy Bands of the past: BTS vs Boybands Coming Back Why the Boyband Hiatus doesn’t apply to BTS How BTS Changed Fandom Culture And these videos cover K-Pop Industry Fuckery, which I hope she covers more of in the future: BTS Paved the Way: why is it so hard to accept? The Elite Four of South Korea and the Ones who Deny it Those videos would be hilarious to be paired with “Trends BTS has Created” and “MORE trends BTS has created” because them being so damn iconic while people desperately look the other direction will never not be funny.
3:17 Been here since 2015 and honestly the kpop stan community is just so goofy i cannot take these ppl seriously. They hate when we say most armys aren't kpop stans and are fine being kicked out of their lil kpop club but at the same time they hate when we don't claim the kpop stan label it's so funny. Example: like other than BTS and GIDLE i very very *very* casually listen to kpop and am a metal fan more than anything... why would i call myself a kpop stan if i only stan 2 grps adjsdkfjeerio
Lmaooo I agree 100%. I've been an ARMY since 2016 and tbh, I only like BTS and TXT. (and I was so surprised when I liked TXT's music sm). I'm glad I gave them a chance... and I also gave kpop a chance, but well- it wasn't for me. The way kpop stans came at me for saying that tho- you'd think I stole their pets or spit in their drinks 💀💀💀 + they're fr goofy. They're not even clowns but the whole damn circus 😂😂😂
I love gidle's songs. As for me my pick would be BTS and Mamamoo. The reason being Mamamoo is that, they're the other ones out there that behind their good music, possess great personalities. Like I could say rn that they're BTS' girl group version for me lol. They just give that same vibe i get from our boys like being a chaotic bunch and such.
@@el-ul8ky You should totally check out Lesserafim as well I get really similar vibes. Though they were deeply born into fourth gen they radiate a more third gen feel but they’re still pretty fresh. Suuper goofy and chaotic. They have one of the closest bonds I’ve seen from recent groups to say they’re only a year old💖
Boracity mag explains everything so well... one would think that kpop companies will take notes & stop repeating the same mistakes... Like literally she showed the proof how copying everything won't work... But they just never stop. Why would I want a copy when I have the original.
Yoongi's comment about there is no next BTS also goes on with let the groups coming up be their best selves, be original and give them credit to be the best them. Even the wise Yoongi gets it. 😂
i've said it for years now but the "next bts" won't know that they are. bts' rise to fame and blow up was completely accidental and quite honestly just fate. no amount of copying will ever recreate their success bcs even bts didn't know what they were doing to get that big, it was their raw personality and love for music and performing that got them where they are not how they copied others achievements.
thanks to bts we are actually seeing more kpop groups make their own stuff now which, as a fan of authentic music, i'm so glad is happening!! even if personally am not a fan of other groups i can respect it.
My favourite is that college's and universities are now teaching BTS courses. Thing's like RM's leadership, the groups unusual marketing and promotional strategies, musical compositions and even literature and psychology classes because of their inspiration and msgs of their music
Super M is made up from members from Exo, Shinee, NCT 127 and WayV- essentially the biggest boy groups out of SM in the last ten years. The general consensus among Army is that the members of SuperM can’t be blamed for their labels blatant and shameless attempts to piggyback off BTS’s success- especially considering SM is known to underpay and overwork their artists. Baekyun, who is in both Exo and SuperM, is actually in the process of suing SM right now along with two other members. Which takes the number of Exo members to sue SM for unfair contacts and mistreatments from three to six. Army really don’t have any beef with SuperM’s members, in fact we’re all quite fond of Taemin because he and Jimin are really close friends. They had a joint performance in 2016 which was a lot of fun, and Taemin was actually on Suchwita only last night and Jimin swung by to hang out and it was really sweet to see how close they still are. I’m pretty sure Jimin’s also friends with Kai from Exo/SuperM but I haven’t heard as many stories about that.
I laughed when you said Namjoon was wearing a wig😂 Love the sound effects. Have you heard the latest with Lee Sooman? His nephew was trying to overthrow him, so LSM sold his shares to HYBE!!!!
A lot of boracity's content does require pre-existing knowledge of the kpop industry, so since you don't really have that a lot of this stuff that is standard is clearly coming as a shock to you 😭 stuff like lip sync, ridiculous beauty standards, emphasis on visuals and perfection (uncancellable, polite, kind, no "scandals", they can't date) are kpop industry hallmarks. Kpop has also always been controlled by the "Big 3" labels, who ALWAYS had the biggest groups because they had the most money and industry connections, so BTS surpassing them without any mediaplay, connections or even money was a big threat to these CEOs' control. Nowadays you see kpop stans referring to a "Big 4" including HYBE, which in my opinion diminishes BTS' achievements and the way they alone built BigHit from the ground up, but that's an essay for another time. Just know that BTS had an insanely hard time even becoming the top group in Korea, let alone the world, because of how the music industry is biased against acts that upset the balance that rich men have created where they can orchestrate fame and spoonfeed listeners their artists' music. It happens in the West too, but it's hidden better. Always be skeptical about what you hear on the radio.
I clicked so fast! I was hoping you'd watch these one day! 💜 Eta am I 1st?! For the 1st time ever?! Lol. Boracity always spits facts & backs it up with receipts. 3:41 while there are a few kpop groups I also stan, (usually they write their own music) for most of kpop I'll like a song here and there, but BTS is the only group I hardcore stan. 5:33 they were invited to the white House to discuss anti-Asian hate. They didn't perform there, but they spoke there and met with Biden. They are the only group ever to also perform at the United nations following their 3rd speech! 💜 23:46 the "super group" is superM. You probably thought it was exo in part because 2 members of exo are in it 38:44 a lot, if not the majority of kpop acts don't sing live, or if they do, the backing track is rly loud to cover them. You'll notice whenever you watch yoongi rap live, he always purposely makes a point to stop in the middle for a word or 2, to prove they're singing live. I always listen & watch very closely when I'm watching a live performance of groups other than BTS and a few others to see if it's rly live. I've seen a clip of a girl group singing at a concert even when some technical issue made it painfully obvs that they weren't singing live. I had assumed that even the groups who lip synced during broadcasts sang live in concert, but if that clip was true now I'm wondering if other grips do that at concerts as well. I've been to an ateez concert as well as BTS so I know they sing live in concert for sure. Ateez, stray kids, & seventeen sing live in broadcasts as well, I know
Lmaoooo Tribe Loui fr trying to not piss ppl off but at the same time... not??? He's like, "it was ok.... but yk.... respectfully, and VERY respectfully, idgaf ☺️😚" ++ I'm all for you checking out more of her videos. Tbh, if ppl don't like what she says.... welp, I guess the shoe fits for them. Bcs I'm sorry- but she's only spitting facts. Maybe it's bcs she's blunt.... but to me, that's why I love her. Also bcs she has no fear of speaking about "controversial" topics that are honestly "unspoken truths". Oop- 🙊
The only competitors of BTS are BTS themselves as solo artists lollll. And don't be afraid loui, you can always be completely honest as to what songs you like and what songs you wouldn't listen to. Don't feel pressure to like everything, even for BTS. There are some BTS songs that I really dislike, because I have certain styles and sounds I just don't like. And that's fine. We'd rather you give honest opinions always.
I've been listening to Korean music since the early 2000s and I think I can definitely say I was more of a casual K-Pop fan back then. There were a lot of groups in 2nd generation K-Pop but I think I can safely say I knew at least a couple songs by most of them. There were only a handful that intrigued me enough to deep dive into their music. Even amongst those groups that I genuinely considered myself a fan of, the experience was nowhere close to what I felt getting into BTS. The only group at even remotely triggered the same reaction is XG. Maybe because they started small and are growing organically. Maybe it's the transparency and willingness to show their struggles. Maybe it's because they clearly put in the hard work (watching their documentary, nearly half of them were cut at some point because they were lacking in some area, not that you can tell now). Maybe it's because they're a group of 7 crackheads. The main appeal, I think, is that they just seem passionate about what they do and aren't afraid to try new things on the path to growing as artists. That's what I love about BTS. They're not the type to settle. They're determined to keep pushing themselves. I think that should be the ultimate goal for any artist regardless of the genre of the music.
I love XG too, I can't wait to see how they grow as artists. They are the only other Group I have found that I can honesty feel a big connection with. I think Tribe Louie should check them out also. I think he might agree.
I agree heavily with ARMY just being music fans who don’t gravitate to becoming fans of more kpop groups. I listen to a lot of music, and since finding BTS it’s also opened me up to other Korean music as well. I do find that I usually just like a few songs from an artist or group though. No one is doing it like BTS and their artistry and discography does for me. And there’s nothing wrong with this! Sometimes you hear a snippet of a song, you vibe with it, and you add it to a playlist. That doesn’t mean you’re gonna like every other song or album from that group/person. I just like good music. (And BTS happen to make great music lol) Also! I was one of those 813,000 at the Sofi Stadium tour run!!!🤩 I went to two days. My first time on a plane and I went across the country for it! No regrets. Best days of my life on this earth to date on god.
i have some thoughts on the way in which the k-pop industry is talked about here. You see, saying music in k-pop is not genuine, not diverse, and has no meaning sorta kinda does not make sense to me. so like if we go back to the origins of k-pop Seo Taejin and the boys was a group that started the k-pop genre and established what it was to become now. They laid the base of k-pop by combining hip hop, electronica, and dance. All while talking about real societal issues that spoke to the youth. This is very important because while k-pop now has very embellished and flashy Mvs and performances these only work in a way to embellish the music and themes a group is trying to convey. Diversity in a group in terms of music and concept and sound needs to be established in order for a group to maintain any type of success. so there’s that. Anyway, yes BTS made it more prominent for groups and members to have much more involvement in their music and, this is true. Because with the establishing of companies like SM Entertainment and YG, they streamlined a group that would be able to hold that same position within an era of music that only had ballads and trot music. But this did not mean that the artist within these groups did not have artistic drives or opinions on their own music. BTS had huge involvement in their music because they were a group with hip hop as their base and writing is a huge part of that. In my opinion k-pop encourages experimentation in music and creativeness in concept because there is so much to work with. Using trends even becomes a new way of experimenting for some groups. like be honest some sounds that could be so common in k-pop would never be releases as title songs or singles in western music world. But because of the creativeness within k-pop it is possible to do so. to talk about the recent groups and their music then we can say that they have much more established concepts and music sounds. Yes, they may have many different genres but a very specific sound to them becomes a norm. Showing versatility within their style is what k-pop groups in my opinion are best at. Some are not so good at that but these come and go depending on company involvement. Some companies just can’t help and get involved and want to keep a sound even when it really just isn’t working. And yes k-pop groups in my opinion do in fact have their own identity. actually it’s very evident. because if a k-pop group were to sound like another k-pop group with no diversity then they could and would not be successful. Like sorry to say but most k-pop listeners would be able to to listen to a song and be like this sounds like a Seventeen song or this sounds like an NCT song because they have such distinct sounds to them . Also knowing k-pop is a package of music, dance and performance. This is a fact. It’s not just k-pop groups but BTS does this as well and yes they have AMAzing music and that makes so many army but their performance is just another part of their artistry so to say that people don’t listen to other groups and only watch performance is kind of folly. Because performance and and dance is another way to show artistry. Take Seventeen for example, they produce, write, and choreograph. They show art through many mediums. not to mention their music is also amazing. Also this part about how k-pop groups only go through concepts and eras isn’t completely whole because so do BTS. they had eras and they had concepts. the school trilogy era and the self love theme. And to say that groups do not show growth through these is also false because they can and they do. Just like BTS. (and no i am not saying that all groups do this because yes some do not grow and you can tell. but let’s be honest they also didn’t participate in writing or producing so how can they show any growth. iykyk) Anyway, what i’m saying is that groups can show growth even while changing concept or going through eras because it can be a part of growing as an artist. I will say this BTS is k-pop. like?. they are k-pop artist it’s just that they have now set the standard for a new era of k-pop and have established new parts to the k-pop industry.
Thanks for saying this. The way some army talk about an industry BTS has said they are proud to be part of is really disrespectful. Like these other groups are their peers and colleagues, even friends, and BTS has cheered them on and wants them to succeed. You can acknowledge where there might be issues in the industry (both K-pop and music generally) and have preferences in terms of other music and not unfairly tear down other groups. I can be an Army but I can also be a Carat, MOA, Once and Stay and I do not feel I am ‘betraying’ BTS by saying so.
Thanks for this, I’m only an ARMY and I’m not really interested in other groups, but it’s always rubbed me the wrong way when other ARMYs just generalise the rest of k-pop as these shallow manufactured groups who don’t write their own music. It just seems really hypocritical because we’re constantly condemning others for applying those stereotypes to BTS, and yet we still praise ARMYs who apply the same prejudices to the rest of k-pop. For me it also feels like it pushes this narrative that BTS is good only because they write their own music, and the fact that some other k-pop groups don’t makes them ‘inferior’. This makes no sense to me either, because those same ARMYs will also say they loved songs like dynamite, butter, and absolutely love every song on V’s and JK’s albums. Like why do they praise BTS for the same things they ‘belittle’ other groups for? If this narrative was true, most of the fan base would dislike every song BTS put out that has no members credited. But that isn’t the case because it isn’t the actual reason ARMYs like BTS. V’s album is unapologetically V, (and I’m sure JK’s will represent him) and songs like dynamite and butter still have that BTS stamp on them, just like other groups in k-pop will have theirs too. We just like BTS’ stamp, whether that is their authenticity, style, personality or anything else. Whatever it is, it shouldn’t be limited to the superficial phrase ‘they wrote x number of songs’. I understand that ARMYs have had a rocky relationship (putting it lightly) with the rest of k-pop throughout BTS’ career, and this way of thinking seems to be an outlet to get back at the industry that has failed BTS so many times, as well as a tool to try and separate the group from k-pop; but that doesn’t make it the right way to go about things. This may sound cringy, but as a fandom we should strive to be better than the ones who bring us down, countering hate with hate only produces more hate. I’m just gonna put some lyrics from Polar Night down to end this, because Yoongi can say it better than me: “Unconcerned about the fact and killing anyone not on the same side is what today’s justice is” “Selective hypocrisy and uncomfortable attitude // Interpretation is made only to cater to one’s mood” “Between countless truths and countless lies, are we looking at the world the proper way? // It is all dirty (Can I too say I am clean) // It is all dirty (Can you say you are clean)”
Him being more interested in the music playing in some parts than what boracity is saying 😂😂😂. I knew he would be interested in the live ver. of run bts, I was waiting for his reaction. Sometimes I feel bad for him not getting to listen to all these great songs at present 😄
16:00 this is why we're sometimes careful about mentioning other groups cuz people will jump on you for just saying a certain group's music isn't your preference. i grew up with korean music. some stuff i like, some stuff i don't like. i only ever "stanned" bts, but i listen to a bunch of other groups and artists from korea and from other countries. I may not know any members' names or everything there is to know about them though because i only like a few of their songs. and that's ok. i also don't get offended when people say they don't vibe with bts' music. everyone has different music tastes lol.
What these people fail to understand when attempting to replicate BTS, is that it isn’t just ONE THING that sets them apart from the rest. All these companies forcing people together, crossing their fingers and hoping for the best are only focusing on trying to replicate the results without thinking about the journey. There were a lot of young men that were training to become a part of BTS over a long period of time and here’s the 1st reason BTS can’t be replicated. Chemistry plays a huge part - you can’t just throw 7 adolescent/young adult men together and hope they don’t tear each other’s throats out, they need to mesh well together. We ended up with our 7 because they grew well together, they formed a bond of friendship organically, through shared hardships and mutual respect for each other. They just work together. Secondly, and probably most importantly, we wouldn’t have BTS if it wasn’t for papa bang looking at an industry that can (and does) take advantage of children for money, and deciding to change that. He nurtured them. Gave them autonomy & freedom to express themselves, gave them a place to air concerns and problems without judgement. They love and respect him like a family member, not a boss. When your boss is more concerned about your health and wellbeing than money, you have a winner. 3rd is fan engagement, but not, if that makes sense. It’s not always about how MUCH you engage with fans, but HOW you do it. It’s not just in arranged fan signs, but in every single instance they are genuinely kind, supportive, loving and very grateful to have us. Some people just say it because they are obligated to, but in every single way they interact with us either online or in person, you know they mean it. They bare such deep parts of themselves to us, I mean they have an image they have to uphold as artists but they aren’t afraid to be themselves. Through their music and all their content since debut they have not once been anything other than exemplary human beings, ready to lend an ear or a shoulder. I feel like I could walk up to any one of them if I ever needed help and I would get it whether I was army or not and you can’t just replicate that. I know it’s a long rant but it really still surprises me at how people are so confused when they can’t replicate BTS success. It’s so obvious that it’s humanity, humility, humbleness and a real honest need to make the world a better place through music
I Love boracity. It’s so much fun watching the essays. 39:19 btw I really enjoy some of 2ne1s songs, they really were pretty talented (and pretty)! If they’ll ever come back I’ll be happy
That’s the part that always gets me. Kpop fans tells us we don’t give others a chance. We do. And we determined we don’t like em 😅 but if we do we usually like some songs. And/or we explore other acts that we end up liking more than their faves
I always look forward to a new BoraCity video. She’s not afraid to be blunt and back it up with facts. She always addresses the prominent things that are going on and it’s always *chefs kiss*
Boracity always keeps it so real. She backs everything up with straight facts. I love her content. And your commentary was on point, I definitely enjoy watching these with you! I will say this. . .there IS some really amazing talent in K-Pop right now, but I would never have discovered it if I had not discovered BTS first. They are my ult group forever. But, there are others who I love A LOT, and the common denominator with them seems to be artists who are interested in their music having a message more than they are in following trends. (Not to say they won't follow trends at all, but it doesn't seem to be their main focus.) Stray Kids is the biggest example of that. I've always found it unfortunate that they happen to be a JYPE group because of. . .well, because of JYP. The best decision he ever made was to let Bangchan (the leader of Stray Kids) build that group himself. They write and produce 90% of their own music, and collaborate on 100% of it. They've never tried to be the next BTS (no matter what their label says), they've always just been unapologetically Stray Kids. They have a very unique sound and they prioritize the message their music conveys. And this is why I think that they've seen the most success (as a boy group) in the West besides BTS. There are other artists I love and respect a lot who don't write their own music, but they have input and control over what they choose to put on their albums and perform. They have input in their concepts, and still want to contribute a message. There's nothing wrong with fun, meaningless songs sometimes if they sound great and make me happy, but that's usually a one and done for me if that artist has nothing else to provide me other than that.
The few videos I've seen from Boracity have been pretty insightful, the thumbnails and names of some of them sorta rub me wrong just in how when I was browsing it came across as a gossip channel or some type of drama, which is why I steered very clear of it. But I've seen a few through reactors like Loui and they're usually well researched and put together. I feel like they tie everything up well at the end, but I'm not totally 100% on board the whole time. I'm not sure if that makes any sense LOL. I really liked the comparisons of statistics and the deep dive into all the different types of groups that have cropped up over the last few years, and why they think that those groups didn't quite succeed. I would have really liked to have seen the clip of BTS saying they 'don't want to be the Beatles of this generation, they want to be the BTS of this generation' added though.
Just like you I fell into the rabbit hole through the rap line, mostly RM. and then each group album just kept hitting over and over again! The production was insane, I just had to stan.
Jin's song, *Awake,* and it's connection to Hermann Hesse's _Demian,_ is what sent me down the BTS vocal line lyric rabbit hole. I got into BTS through RM and mostly paid attention to just the rapline's music at first (this is before I was ARMY). But then I caught the quote from _Demian_ in Jin's *Awake* short film and really paid attention to the lyrics and got caught from that.
lmao i feel like you just discovered a new sound effect and were having the time of your life, the booms had me cracking up so bad everytime i loved it
the boom made me laugh every single time lmaooo watching these videos as someone who discovered BTS through kpop (and not the other way around) back in 2015... it’s crazy cause i saw most of this shit happening real time, and boracity only spilled facts! you should definitely watch more videos from her channel!! a boracity marathon with you would be fire
God I love Boracity mag so much She isn't afraid of spilling the tea and what I love the most is that she just spit facts and does a deep research before talking. Kpoppies get mad when they watch her videos but they never have a proper reply because they can't deny does facts so they just end up looking even more dulusional 😭 it''s honestly hilarious 😂 THE BOOMS AND THE CRICKETS 💀
Why are we here if not for your commentary? Boracity does her research, presents it solid. Excellent and refreshing content from ya both. And gotta say, that mermaid was judging during ATEEZ commentary.🤣
I swear kpop fans or BTS haters are so damn desperate trying to bring BTS down but couldn't find a single real flaw so they just be doing pathetic and ridiculous things. Recently they are trying to accuse BTS as druggies and it's so damn funny and so baseless considering how strict South Korea is regarding drugs and two of BTS members are literally in the military and they don't even get privacy almost their whole life so how the heck do they even get drugs? Even Suga who loves to drink alcohol literally raps in his song that he doesn't need popping pills to write or produce songs.
I'm a very open minded and curious person, i love pop culture, so i check out every artist out there that i can and i do the same with kpop. And let me tell you, i've found many great songs in kpop, mainly from girl groups, but i always ALWAYS find something that i don't like so much about each group. That could be weak b-sides, lip synced/weak performances, no artistic input from the idols, rappers who can't rap to save their lives. The kpop songs that i like mainly makes me happy and it doesn't go beyond that. BTS was the one that could really inspire me and reach my heart, you know?
i listened to a LOT of kpop music throughout the years, and i had months where i would be obsessed with a kpop group and watch a ton of their content and like their choreos and songs, but after that phase other than a few songs i take nothing away with me. so now i know a LOT about the industry, but at the end of it all theres only two groups i genuinely listen to: bts and a band called day6. i sometimes think i would even consider myself part of the day6 fandom because of how much i love their MUSIC. armys will always be fans of music first and i have never seen an army hate on another who likes an artist for their music. and honestly as someone who has been seeing this for 7 years??? i can very safely say i picked the groups that actually have longevity coz my god are some of these groups gonna start fading soon if they havent already. kpop stans will deny it, but i have already seen some of my moots on twt become less and less engaged with groups and get over their "phase". if you love the music it would never have been a phase in the first place 🤷♀
wait i hvnt watched every boracity vids, i think this was the first time i see her putting iconic memes, luv herr also regarding the "BTSpop" ting, when u see army hyping up that term on present day so many kpopers get triggered, talking bout "u know bts is kpop too right?" mf u expelled us and probably one of the first people who agreed to put the btspop label on all of us, and seeing them backtrack pisses me off bcus whys history repeating itself rn lmao Also, KEEP USING THE SOUNDBOARD TRIBE LOUI ITS LIKE ONE OF THE BEST ADDITIONS IN YOUR VIDEOS LMAO
When I first discovered BTS I only listened to them for almost a year then I started branching out to listening to other groups and solo Korean artists. I have favorite soloists that I listen to daily but as far as groups go besides ENHYPEN and TXT I couldn’t tell you any names of members from any group who’s songs I casually listen to 😂
I am the same with the branching out listening to other groups (Not bad for an former kpop hater lol) and somewhat solo artists through i have also added Kingdom to my stan list along with BTS, TXT, ENHYPEN (and &TEAM and the former group B.A.P) i don't know all the names off other groups members or even somes the groups names...
love boracity! i agree with you, the way she doesn't mince words makes her video essays very poignant. and i think she always has great closing remarks. lollll SM has so many closets
Boracity Magazine- real facts! I’m not a KPop fan although I have listened to other artists. A lot of them sound the same to my ear. I might choose a KPop playlist for walking to, they are excellent for pacing, but there just isn’t enough to keep me interested. I do appreciate the variety that BTS offers. I heard BTS for the first time 2 years ago and my BTS playlist is well worn and just keeps growing with each solo release.
I normally mess about in the comments, but here's my attempt at being semi-serious: Because of everything boracity said about BTS not being K-pop and making their own way despite the industry, I wish they would challenge industry norms more. For example, there is still a tendency to whitewash pictures and videos, and the guys still seem to be overly concerned with their looks. I understand that you need to be made up for performances and MVs but when they do lives and more informal things, they should just chill. I know a lot of them do lives barefaced but they still constantly comment about "oh, I'm not wearing makeup". It's like - who cares dude, you're gorgeous. I don't think I ever saw a fan saying, he should be wearing more makeup. In fact, the opposite is true. They get praised for being barefaced constantly.
What that "K-pop journalist" said about people only being interested in one or two groups and don't care about others is so stupid because if your job is being an expert on Kpop music that you cover issues about it, why don't YOU make people interested in other artists? I love music and when i wanna find different artists, I go to music pages that usually recommends good artists of an certain genre, (e.g: indie music) and read their articles about why this particular artist is someone to pay attention to. Don't you, as a kpop journalist, realize that complain about the lack of interest of people for Kpop "genre" is the same as telling that you don't do your job appropriately? Why instead of crying about "close minded people" don't you write about what makes this or that kpop group special, give recommendations, talk about similarities, trends, eras, etc.
16:04 it's ok bro you say what you love don't care about offending people if you like other group or other songs of the group say it ...react to it and enjoy it it's okay you dont have to listen to bts all the time yk🌟
You are easily becoming my favorite reaction channel by how thorough and immersed you are in BTSs journey and music. You even introduced me to BTS songs I hadn't heard before and I've known about them longer than you have 😅..I know you're gonna be big too....alot of us appreciate the dedication you have.. Borahae
You saying, you know what,I don't really care remindes me of when Stray Kids Bang Chan said, the company would not want him saying something on a live stream ...then he said i don't care actually I really don't care!!! lol
bro til the middle of this video i thought that the "boom" in the back was a thunder in the sky outside wtfffffff i was "omg its going to rain so hard" like BRO HAHSHAHSAH great video as usual my man bts is just the top yk anyway xoxo
Loui its been a while since a mamamoo video 😭😭 take ur time tho no pressure😅 hopefully their dingo killing voice performance is in the list of things you have to watch from mamamoo
I got really into TXT lately, but I don't think I can be considered MOA (TXT fan) because I don't feel the need to buy their albums and merch etc. That could still happen in the future, but idk, BTS is special to me.
Don't apologize for your opinion! As you clearly state WHY and WHAT you feel during your reactions!!! I can easily SEE your appreciation and love for the lyrics, for the musical composition, and for the overall production of the songs and albums you critique!!!!! Your level of honesty about how you feel about music, is much like the aura of BTS, in that it can not be faked!!!!!! You are genuine and your deep love for understanding of the nuances within each song is always appreciated by Armys!!!! Case in point, while I am an Army and I love JK's Golden album and felt it was an excellent first release as a mainstream POP album for him, there was one recent solo "fan" song he released that I just didn't feel with my heart. Because i couldn't fully explain it, other Armys lambasted me!!! Geez!!!!! I'm a more understanding Army subscriber to your channel, and I know we have more differences than similarities in our life experiences and because of that, I HAVE to accept your opinions, especially if I don't agree, because they're so well articulated!!!! That's what makes you unique and likable to watch!!! I look forward ti more of your reactions, as i move through your reactions! Borahae 💜
I've been an on an off listener to kpop and Korean music in general since the late 90s, but only started to pay real attention to the "idol" artists after I discovered BTS. I don't think the parts about artistry apply to all the artists, because specially after BTS, more "idol industry" companies realized it makes commercial sense to let the artists have freedom from the beginning (for most of the previous generations, they had to "earn" that having a couple hit songs under their belt). But I agree that as kpop or idol music is not a genre, you might like the one artist you discover and don't like others. And I don't think it's only "kpop fans" who put any Korean artists into the kpop category, but Western media and streaming platforms, who don't know the concept behind the industry I still think saying BTS are not idols, specially saying they never were idols is wrong, because is negating their story and struggles.
Armys actually created the term "kpoppie" to describe a Kpop stan/fan who hates BTS. Also I love that we have Boracity. She proves her points accurately and logically.
Thats crazy cuz I always hear kpop haters use that term towards any kpop fan
Kpoppie was never made to be used at those who hate BTS though. It's just a term for a general Kpop fan/Kpop stan. Antis are those who hate and do things to try to diminish BTS as 7 or individually.
@@ARMYnotArmyI t WAS, but users have twisted the meaning, just like the words 'literally' & 'awesome', among many others.
@@SMHorne I don't know who told you that. I'm sorry you were misled. Kpoppies is a term for the general kpop fan/stan population. But now you got me curious to know if you know when that word came about, how, and why?
@@SMHornefacts, it's common to call "kpoppies" to kpop stans who hate bts lmfao, in spanish community we use this a lot😂
Boracity really loves to spit facts bro
Boracity is a legend. She speaks truth and backs it up with proof. Love her.
That’s crazy😭 funniest part is no matter how much they celebrated that SuperM “ended bts” no one outside of the kpop community knows who tf SuperM is
@@ARMYnotArmy I remember when those kpop fans were saying BTS bought their own album WHEN BIG HIT WAS IN BANKRUPTCY LMAO
@@itzmehDevi Yup, BigHit didn't have the funds but actual facts don't matter to people like that, sadly. They'll say anything to get attention and to try and get people to hate who they hate.
Luckily it did not stick, like the songs didn’t even chart
the booms and the crickets sound had me crying LMFAOOOOO

You should ABSOLUTELY do a marathon of Boracity covering industry fuckery!
BTS vs Spoify
BTS vs Radio
BTS vs Attendance Award Shows
And finish with “Why the Music Industry is so Afraid of BTS”
And if you want to go by topic, the following videos cover more fuckery in the western industry and unpack both the connotations and reality of BTS being lumped in with Boy Bands of the past:
BTS vs Boybands Coming Back
Why the Boyband Hiatus doesn’t apply to BTS
How BTS Changed Fandom Culture
And these videos cover K-Pop Industry Fuckery, which I hope she covers more of in the future:
BTS Paved the Way: why is it so hard to accept?
The Elite Four of South Korea and the Ones who Deny it
Those videos would be hilarious to be paired with “Trends BTS has Created” and “MORE trends BTS has created” because them being so damn iconic while people desperately look the other direction will never not be funny.
nah dude you either go down with us cause you have similar opinions to ours or you censor yourself. cause kpoppies get mad at anything armys say 💀
Fr,because i know what he gonna say,he have to stop himself from saying that will get kpopie mad 😂
Fr, i audibly gasped then started laughing.
The way kpop stans came at me for saying that tho- you'd think I stole their pets or spit in their drinks 💀💀💀
+ they're fr goofy. They're not even clowns but the whole damn circus 😂😂😂
This is so real BTS and gidle >
Love love love Kpop but with my 3-4 years of being a fan I’ve only been able to stan Bts & Lesserafim 💜💙
Why would I want a copy when I have the original.
the dramatic booms only emphasized all the FACTS 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Boracity is "THE QUEEN".. Always spitting facts!
Ready for this cause bora speaks facts with PLENTY RECEIPTS
Yoongi's comment about there is no next BTS also goes on with let the groups coming up be their best selves, be original and give them credit to be the best them. Even the wise Yoongi gets it. 😂
Oh man. SM is such a mess on so many levels. SuperM has some phenomenally talented idols, but the whole thing was bungled so badly.
True..im really excited when SuperM debut bcoz i really like Taemin & Kai..im thingking 'this will be amazing' but ....
i've said it for years now but the "next bts" won't know that they are. bts' rise to fame and blow up was completely accidental and quite honestly just fate. no amount of copying will ever recreate their success bcs even bts didn't know what they were doing to get that big, it was their raw personality and love for music and performing that got them where they are not how they copied others achievements.
thanks to bts we are actually seeing more kpop groups make their own stuff now which, as a fan of authentic music, i'm so glad is happening!! even if personally am not a fan of other groups i can respect it.
My favourite is that college's and universities are now teaching BTS courses. Thing's like RM's leadership, the groups unusual marketing and promotional strategies, musical compositions and even literature and psychology classes because of their inspiration and msgs of their music
Really? Which universities? I would love to hear more about this🙏🏽

23:28 one of the members of SuperM \ SHINEE was on suchwita this morning. He's really good friends with your husband. It was a really cute episode.
I laughed when you said Namjoon was wearing a wig😂 Love the sound effects. Have you heard the latest with Lee Sooman? His nephew was trying to overthrow him, so LSM sold his shares to HYBE!!!!
Oop- I guess he should be proud of his nephew lol bcs it appears he learned from his uncle with the "trying" 😂😂😂😂
@Rox7ne in his official statement he praised HYBE and BTS! After trying so hard to beat them😂
A lot of boracity's content does require pre-existing knowledge of the kpop industry, so since you don't really have that a lot of this stuff that is standard is clearly coming as a shock to you 😭 stuff like lip sync, ridiculous beauty standards, emphasis on visuals and perfection (uncancellable, polite, kind, no "scandals", they can't date) are kpop industry hallmarks.
Eta am I 1st?!
23:46 the "super group" is superM. You probably thought it was exo in part because 2 members of exo are in it
38:44 a lot, if not the majority of kpop acts don't sing live, or if they do, the backing track is rly loud to cover them. Ateez, stray kids, & seventeen sing live in broadcasts as well, I know
Lmaoooo Tribe Loui fr trying to not piss ppl off but at the same time... not??? He's like, "it was ok.... but yk.... respectfully, and VERY respectfully, idgaf ☺️😚"

What you feel with XG is EXACTLY what I feel with Lesserafim haha 😂💖💖
@yunny_0.0_bunny-rj3ts Yunjin! 😍 Her path is a perfect example of things happening how and when they're supposed to happen.
(And BTS happen to make great music lol)
Also!

I’m just gonna put some lyrics from Polar Night down to end this, because Yoongi can say it better than me:
“Unconcerned about the fact and killing anyone not on the same side is what today’s justice is”
“Selective hypocrisy and uncomfortable attitude // Interpretation is made only to cater to one’s mood”
“Between countless truths and countless lies, are we looking at the world the proper way? // It is all dirty (Can I too say I am clean) // It is all dirty (Can you say you are clean)”
All this bts content and mv’s being put in the video and he’s clueless😭 “is that Megan thee stallion”
HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE’S IN FOR 🤣🤣
Him being more interested in the music playing in some parts than what boracity is saying 😂😂😂.
I may not know any members' names or everything there is to know about them though because i only like a few of their songs. and that's ok. i also don't get offended when people say they don't vibe with bts' music. everyone has different music tastes lol.
same I also listen to some other kpop group I just don't stan them but like casually listen to their music and only stan BTS 💁🏾♂️.
It’s so obvious that it’s humanity, humility, humbleness and a real honest need to make the world a better place through music
just finished a bts deepdive stream with my bestie getting her into bts history and came to youtube to immediately see u. so happy for this upload :)

There's nothing wrong with fun, meaningless songs sometimes if they sound great and make me happy, but that's usually a one and done for me if that artist has nothing else to provide me other than that.
not you saying namjoon hair was a wig
I thought he was referring to the recent ig post - the Anderson paak like hair?? Wait, did he think namjoon's hair in Black swan was a wig?😂
@@anu5880 maybe, idk at this point 😂😂
The production was insane, I just had to stan.
youre having way too much fun with the sound effect thing
and i love it 🤣🤣
Jin's song, *Awake,* and it's connection to Hermann Hesse's _Demian,_ is what sent me down the BTS vocal line lyric rabbit hole. I got into BTS through RM and mostly paid attention to just the rapline's music at first (this is before I was ARMY).
But then I caught the quote from _Demian_ in Jin's *Awake* short film and really paid attention to the lyrics and got caught from that.
lmao i feel like you just discovered a new sound effect and were having the time of your life, the booms had me cracking up so bad everytime i loved it
Okay but now I need a reaction to BTS vs Boybands because that got me heated 💀
the boom made me laugh every single time lmaooo watching these videos as someone who discovered BTS through kpop (and not the other way around) back in 2015... it’s crazy cause i saw most of this shit happening real time, and boracity only spilled facts! you should definitely watch more videos from her channel!! a boracity marathon with you would be fire
I love that you’re a Twitter army bro, we’re the best 😂
Boracity is a savage. Lol. Don't worry Loui we love you just as you are. 💜💜💜
God I love Boracity mag so much
She isn't afraid of spilling the tea and what I love the most is that she just spit facts and does a deep research before talking.
Kpoppies get mad when they watch her videos but they never have a proper reply because they can't deny does facts so they just end up looking even more dulusional 😭 it''s honestly hilarious 😂
THE BOOMS AND THE CRICKETS 💀
Dude we were laughing so hard when they “expelled”us. We like yeesssss finally free us!!! 😂
Why are we here if not for your commentary? Boracity does her research, presents it solid. Excellent and refreshing content from ya both. And gotta say, that mermaid was judging during ATEEZ commentary.🤣
i love how this came out today because just yesterday i binged all her videos
boracity ON TOP! also idk why i'm just clocking this now but those glasses are gorgeous on you they really suit your face
3:14 tbh there's nowhere to expel us from - we never were kpoppers. We were always and only will be ARMY.
I was missing you :( glad to having you back 💜
6:51 the way jk is now at #7 and the album inst even released😂
I love Tribe Loui's backgrounds but I'm not gonna lie, that mermaid scared the 💩outta me!🤣
I laughed so hard at “Golden State Warriors” 😂😂… I’m still laughing 😅
My god when I was a baby Army, I was listening to one of those award shows for HOURS, getting a headache from the so-called “music.” NEVER AGAIN KPOP
or thoses musci show when u have to wait for bts to perform, i started waiting with mute livestream cuz the music was just not good
I'm a very open minded and curious person, i love pop culture, so i check out every artist out there that i can and i do the same with kpop.
It was nice to laugh with you Jonathan. Boracity is the queen! 💜
i listened to a LOT of kpop music throughout the years, and i had months where i would be obsessed with a kpop group and watch a ton of their content and like their choreos and songs, but after that phase other than a few songs i take nothing away with me. so now i know a LOT about the industry, but at the end of it all theres only two groups i genuinely listen to: bts and a band called day6. i sometimes think i would even consider myself part of the day6 fandom because of how much i love their MUSIC. armys will always be fans of music first and i have never seen an army hate on another who likes an artist for their music. and honestly as someone who has been seeing this for 7 years??? i can very safely say i picked the groups that actually have longevity coz my god are some of these groups gonna start fading soon if they havent already. kpop stans will deny it, but i have already seen some of my moots on twt become less and less engaged with groups and get over their "phase". if you love the music it would never have been a phase in the first place 🤷♀
wait i hvnt watched every boracity vids, i think this was the first time i see her putting iconic memes, luv herr
also regarding the "BTSpop" ting, when u see army hyping up that term on present day so many kpopers get triggered, talking bout "u know bts is kpop too right?" mf u expelled us and probably one of the first people who agreed to put the btspop label on all of us, and seeing them backtrack pisses me off bcus whys history repeating itself rn lmao
Also, KEEP USING THE SOUNDBOARD TRIBE LOUI ITS LIKE ONE OF THE BEST ADDITIONS IN YOUR VIDEOS LMAO
When I first discovered BTS I only listened to them for almost a year then I started branching out to listening to other groups and solo Korean artists. I have favorite soloists that I listen to daily but as far as groups go besides ENHYPEN and TXT I couldn’t tell you any names of members from any group who’s songs I casually listen to 😂
I am the same with the branching out listening to other groups (Not bad for an former kpop hater lol) and somewhat solo artists
through i have also added Kingdom to my stan list along with BTS, TXT, ENHYPEN (and &TEAM and the former group B.A.P) i don't know all the names off other groups members or even somes the groups names...
love boracity! i agree with you, the way she doesn't mince words makes her video essays very poignant. and i think she always has great closing remarks.
lollll SM has so many closets
Ur dramatic effects I LOVE
12:49 and ironically yoongi is wearing that long t-shirt stating it
The earth being flat
The "bom" and cricket got me everytime 😂
Them crickets caught me off guard
Boracity Magazine- real facts! I’m not a KPop fan although I have listened to other artists. A lot of them sound the same to my ear. I might choose a KPop playlist for walking to, they are excellent for pacing, but there just isn’t enough to keep me interested. I do appreciate the variety that BTS offers. I heard BTS for the first time 2 years ago and my BTS playlist is well worn and just keeps growing with each solo release.
I actually felt some sadness for you when I realized you haven’t experienced Black Swan yet. Your journey is the best but bro, it’s taking FOREVER 😂
26:01 EXACTLY.
I loved the booms, keep them coming 😂😂
u cracking tf up during the first 4 mins and the sound effects are KYLLING MEEEE LMFAOOO
You always keep it real..... Thats one of you greatest quality
16:04 it's ok bro you say what you love don't care about offending people if you like other group or other songs of the group say it ...react to it and enjoy it it's okay you dont have to listen to bts all the time yk🌟
I love that booma nd I want to watch more boracity with you. Btw it's been a long while since you watched BTS youtube edits.
Borahae
You saying, you know what,I don't really care remindes me of when Stray Kids Bang Chan said, the company would not want him saying something on a live stream ...then he said i don't care actually I really don't care!!! lol
bro til the middle of this video i thought that the "boom" in the back was a thunder in the sky outside wtfffffff i was "omg its going to rain so hard" like BRO HAHSHAHSAH
great video as usual my man bts is just the top yk anyway xoxo
And here I was thinking you were my man. 😭😭😭
BORACITY YESSSSS
Loui its been a while since a mamamoo video 😭😭 take ur time tho no pressure😅 hopefully their dingo killing voice performance is in the list of things you have to watch from mamamoo
just been searching for something to watch before sleep😁
I got really into TXT lately, but I don't think I can be considered MOA (TXT fan) because I don't feel the need to buy their albums and merch etc. That could still happen in the future, but idk, BTS is special to me.
22:34 I love that boom sound I dunno why😂😂
Absolutely loved the reaction Loui!! thanks for highlighting these two videos!
21:11 As if you just talking wasn't enough to make me laugh you just HAD TO add that boom to make me laugh even harder huh? 😭😭
48:01 ayo it is a commentary video. so you absolutely should talk about your thoughts in btwn duh. plus we love it when you talk freely like that lol
Boracity and borasoilders are savage and strong af!!!!!🔥🔥🔥💀
I just knew you would be a Black Swan & Run BTS enthusiast, lol
I love the boom sound, really adds to the viewer experience
Damn u took not stopping during a video to another level loui 😭😂😂
I will patiently be waiting for next boracity I enjoy these way too much (BTW I just wanted to say I like your diction and the way you talk)
And I don't think it's only "kpop fans" who put any Korean artists into the kpop category, but Western media and streaming platforms, who don't know the concept behind the industry
I still think saying BTS are not idols, specially saying they never were idols is wrong, because is negating their story and struggles.
