I have knit 4 of the same hat pattern using same yarn and needles. I had 4 different sized hats! I will see how the granny square yarn turns out.

I got in on a Jo Ann’s sale for $6.99
I went down a 1/2 hook size and used a basic granny square without the chain 1 inbetween
I wanted so bad for this yarn to work for me, but changing tension or hook sizes and frigging is so frustrating. I definitely am going to try something else like a hat or hexi cardigan. But the colorama halo yarn is one of my favorites now.
Try making sure you only have a 4 in tail to start and stick to the pattern and the spaces in between. It will not work otherwise. If you do not want granny squares, just treat it as self striping yarn.

Hiya! I don't get to answer a lot, but ya got me on a good day! My sweater is just a simple halfdouble hexagram, I just played around with sleeves and the collar. I used @bagoday's herringbone pattern as a base, but couldn't get the herringbone stitch. I think hers was the "Curtain Call" cardigan 💚

Hello. Hope your day is going well. I love the yarn, so pretty. I don’t think I could only use it for granny squares though. I probably use it for other patterns or even amigarumi critter. Love your video. I I love to see the yarns you show. But then I love all yarns. There is no such thing as too much yarn. I would love the self stripping yarn so much.

Would not use granny square yarn for granny squares your tension has to be spot on and consistent, too much work and not enjoyable. However I think this yarn would work with mosaic crochet ...
I will stick with my own way of doing granny squares. Life is hard enough without annoying granny squares.
