the beautiful thing about this BMW is it gives you options. dont like idrive? use gesture. Dont like that? use touchscreen? dont like touching? use tablet. dont like that too? use voice command? hate all? use the steering wheel controls.

Think about it.. who sets the standards that the rest all, copy? Mercedes with the S-Class. Look at that ambient lighting and fragrance setup that they put into the 7-Series. Right out of the S-Class. Sorry, but while the 7 remains awesome, the Audi A8, Lexus LS, Chevrolet CT6.. I mean Cadillac CT6 all make a great attempt, no one will EVER dethrone the S-Class from its chair. But the 7-SERIES sure gets close, as does the Audi A8. Looks are a matter of opinion, which means nothing. The fact is that the S-Class in total is always the best ride out there. Why do you think the rest of the competition sweats when a new S-Class comes out? Cause they know that Mercedes yet again, leaped the competition who've barely caught up to the last generation S-Class.

That 80's disco lighting is way over the top... really cheapens the car.

I agree. maybe not take them all out but dim them? I think that'll work. or only white lights not red, blue green etc

Gimmicks do not equal luxury. BMW not only loses ground to the S class, in design and luxury, but yields more ground to a much older Audi A8, IMO.

The rear seat pop out Samsung-type controller was in the Jaguar XJ 2010 model. Lift the center arm rest and that's where it is in the Jaguar, 6-7 years before this.
    Great review. I've subscribed.

If you want to get picky, this car allows you to chose between 2 fragrances at a time while the MB can only do 1.

How come there's no apple car play? Maybe because BMW didn't want to put it in there vehicles. Maybe there's people on earth that don't have iphones or they prefer android. But no. Every apple fanboy has to make everything about their phone or computer. If you want apple car play buy a Ferrari or a pos Chevy.
