The key fob has a remote start. Media screen on the remote will allow you to control the exterior lights and start engine with park assist. Maybe you didn't have that feature on this model you reviewed.
I think it's not allowed in the US along with laser lights but I know Europe has all of it, the sclass here in the U.K. Is standard with laser lights but again America can't have it due to legislation from the government

drove one a couple years old the other day and these monsters hammer also rode in it 8 hours before that and as a passenger the only difficult part was the driver's music volume choices i need to make more money and get on this level at some point haha. not hard
IMHO the F01 7 series was the best looking to date. had a sporty exterior, and the interior was gorgeous as well. this new 7 series just looks a 4 series what been widened and extended a bit. but great review none the less Steve!

If you really had that kind of money to spend a 10k bill to fix the amount of lighting the interior has wouldn't be a problem. These cars are made for people who make 300k a year, not 100k.

Sad that I can't get a V12. Not really liking the look of the front bumper for this M sport model. If I was to buy another 7 series, I would not want all those extra stupid options. Only dark Grey 750Li with the Orangish-Brown interior, Pano roof, and regular key that's it.
Getting tired of that mug on it. All BMW cars look the same in the front. Now all Mercedes cars, and Audi cars, look the same. Countless times, I didn't know what German car it was until it was right next to me. For this kind of money, some style and design should be standard, instead of being another hand-me-down.
Put the fancy optics and tablets on a side for a second, this car doesn't impress for the price tag. They should focus more on improving the reliability rather than trying to get customers with fancy illumination.

I mean Cadillac CT6 all make a great attempt, no one will EVER dethrone the S-Class from its chair. But the 7-SERIES sure gets close, as does the Audi A8. Why do you think the rest of the competition sweats when a new S-Class comes out? Cause they know that Mercedes yet again, leaped the competition who've barely caught up to the last generation S-Class.

From what I know the countries that allow remote start are a minority. It might not be cost-prohibitive to add it but I guess its time and money they can spend on other features. Presonally I don't really see a use in remote start. They probably neither. EDIT: The car can actually start on its own for the remote parking system.
All the illumination and gesture controls just seem gimmicky and not in an let me try it way. I can't say I'd be sold even viewing the car at night when the ambiance was full techno but then I haven't physically sat in it.
The rear seat pop out Samsung-type controller was in the Jaguar XJ 2010 model. Lift the center arm rest and that's where it is in the Jaguar, 6-7 years before this. Great review. I've subscribed.

This is good for a 3 yr lease and then bye, bye. Imagine how expensive to repair those uber-complicated systems.

Gimmicks do not equal luxury. BMW not only loses ground to the S class, in design and luxury, but yields more ground to a much older Audi A8, IMO.
