    The Atari 2600 is rough since it was your childhood console. Not a regret, but it does make me sad, not having really any toys or stuff from childhood hurts a little. Seeing others show off whole collections or even just a couple of items, stirs up a tear. At the end of the day it's stuff, and you can't take it with you. But it can bring a smile (or frown) when you remember those items.

      You're 100% right, it's just stuff at the end of the day 🍻

    Coming from someone who used to have a massive CIB retro game collection, I definitely feel this video! Oh man, the great memories of some of the stuff I used to have.

      I'm interested in "The Pit." Reminds me Playstation Underground in a sense. Pretty cool.

    Oh man, I don't know that I could narrow it down to ONLY 5 things I regret getting rid of. The MK card/page thing, that makes me wonder what happened to the letters I got back from Nintendo Power. I remember writing them 2-3 times and while I never got into the magazines, I DID get responses and I wonder if just possibly I still have those letters stored away someplace.

    • @show-me-retro
      @show-me-retro  10 месяцев назад

      That would be cool to find those responses! I'm on a mission now to find the original ad but it's proving quite difficult. If I could narrow down which particular magazine it would be easier but eventually I will find it

    I’ve only ever lost things that were stolen from me. Red God of War PSP.

    No regerts lol Man that Nintendo TV stand would have killed me if I had that and let it go. Not trying to rub salt into the wound, but that is a pretty cool item.

    Great stories man I really enjoyed this video. I told my OG 2600 as well at a garage sale along with a lot of toys when I was a kid to get a 2600. Later on I sold my before collage I sold my NES, SNES, Genesis. I needed the money and could play those games on emulation. Until the Wii I also sold my previous gen consoles to pay for the next one etc. it is tough but over the years I have learned to accept it.

      Thanks brother, I didn't want to mention all the systems I sold... just keep it to things that were very personal but yeah my Sega Genesis, Sega CD and SNES collections are def regrets

    1st edition Pokemon rares and uncommons for bags of chips comes to mind...I was a kid though. Also my brother sold our SNES collection with 20 games CIB and in good condition for 50 bucks. Some of those games are now worth A LOT of money

    • @show-me-retro
      @show-me-retro  10 месяцев назад

      I have a lot of systems stories that I didn't want to include in the video since I also included the games. Usually I did that to upgrade to a new system and got pennies for thousands of dollars worth of games and systems. It sucks but many people have similar stories

      @@show-me-retro also I just remembered that same yard sale my older brother sold the SNES and games we also sold the Virtual Boy we got 2 years earlier for like 15 dollars. Box and inserts and everything. I was 8 and he was 12 and he wanted an N64. Terrible decision, worst console Ive ever owned

    One of my biggest regrets was selling my Guitar Hero/Rock Band stuff

    • @show-me-retro
      @show-me-retro  10 месяцев назад +1

      I gave mine to my daughter and recently bought a new guitar just for myself. I did recently sell my drum kit but it never got used so I'm ok with some cash for the added space. It does suck that that stuff is more expensive to re-aquire than it was back then

    My folks would buy me Sega consoles when I was a kid and usually we would let go off the older for the newer one... I however regret telling my parents to get rid of the Saturn. The amount of money I've had to sink into rebuilding a chunk of that game library as an adult... meh.

    • @show-me-retro
      @show-me-retro  10 месяцев назад +1

      I sold my entire Saturn collection as well to get a PS1. However I did start to rebuild before things got completely out of hand. However I never amassed as many games as I had back then but yeah, it stings

    Great video, Pat.
    When I was in the 5th grade, I traded my very first video game to a friend.
    The game was Mega Man 1. My Mom actually had convinced a store owner of a Rental Store to sell it to her. Anyways, it was my first game.
    I traded if for MK1 and Final Fight on SNES.
    Live and learn.

    That's a good list the cart I had the same one as a kid but it was damaged and who knows what happened to it I did repurchase that 3-4 years ago. Biggest regret was maybe buying 6cyl Conker's Bad Fur Day back in 2004 on eBay they were sealed there was like ten sellers selling them for what seems like a whole year and I think I paid $9 each for them. This was right before I started collecting and I just opened them and gave them to friends because I told them this game is awesome and no one was talking about it I even gave one to one of my college piano teachers. In hindsight I should have messaged the eBay seller and bought out all the stock but how am I going to know to do that nice shirt 😊😊

      @show-meretro oh yeah in middle of 2002 they were all over eBay I wish there was a way to go back and look at all those old listings it was a late 64 release and had a lot of back stock cuz it initially didn't sell well with the adult rating for mature rating whatever it was one of the cheapest sealed Nintendo 64 games you can get for a while
