Very well organized, super helpful, but one important misclassification at the end needs clearing up. Firstly, both conditioning methods depend on the subject learning by association, not just classical conditioning. Classical conditioning has the subject associating neutral stimuli with unconditioned stimuli, while operant conditioning relies on associating the rewards and punishments with the voluntary behavior. That is why they must take place soon after, or with clear inferential lines of association to, the behavior that is to be conditioned. Secondly, where operant conditioning uses punishment and reward to reinforce the voluntary behavior, classical relies on repeated pairing of the unconditioned and conditioned stimuli to reinforce illicitation of the conditioned involuntary response.
