He couldn't keep his wings otherwise he'd still be able to be manipulated/controlled/possed whatever by god, that's why the neck collar fell off and you saw that kind of halo effect collapsing in as he lost his divine power, he lost his power but gained free will and able to fully act against gods will like any other human. Same as the slave Bracelets on the Genie in Aladin he's bound to the lamp, Angels are bound to God.

Then how did he betray god in the first place with the collar on. If he can't betray god with the collar on, then the act of cutting off his wings would be considered betrayal and not be possible. So yes, by this story's plot, it would be possible to find nukes or other weapons like that.

"I would have kept the wings" And that was going to be his worst mistake. Based off the movie it seems like those very wings act like a leash to god's will as the halo seems to fade after they're lost. The last thing you need while on a mission to protect someone is to be tethered to something that can yank, freeze, or even corrupt your goal even if it's for a second and cause you to stand aside while the deciding shot is being made.

The odd thing is that during the fight scene between Gabriel and Michael, he says that tearing off the wings removes the leash and that Michael should have ripped Gabriel's wings off.
HtB needs to do a better job checking his scripts for inconsistancies.

Only Cinema Summary could confidently say "I have a plan to beat the *Captial-G GOD* themselves", and ACTUALLY have some weight to their words. However, if any god, either Roman, Japanese, or Christian, wanted you dead...There really wouldn't be any chance of surviving. Like, *OMNIPOTNENT* beings don't just give up when you survive a few of their challenges, and kill their forces. They could easily curse you, or thanos snap you, cause they are *gods.*
Only way to beat them is Find their Weaknesses, Make some... cruical friends and nasically be ready to scourge the world.

Those angels were pretty clearly not actually trying to win. They could have just swarmed the place. It's not like they're afraid of dying or anything, so they could just throw sheer numbers at the diner until everyone was unalived. What the heck were they doing goofing off that entire time?

Well if he was under control to begin with he wouldn't of been able to rebel at all. I think this was a moral test for Michael and if he truly thought he was serving an unjust God then he shouldn't be using it's power. However since he clearly was remade a new angel because he did the right thing the God in this movie was actually just and it's hard to say if this all didn't play out as planned by God.

The series actually shows that the angels are durable enough to survive nukes. Weapons only hurt them when it's used by another divine being i think.

@@falsnamae3511That's actually what the series all about. Although there were some twist in the series the deviated from the bible. Michael was actually the one who committed a genocide first. In the series, Michael was the flood sent from heaven to cull humanity, the ark was actually a bunker to hide the survivors from Michael. It was Gabriel that saved humanity by intervening, beating Michael n unconscious and leaving him to die. Michael was then saved by a boy who passed by despite knowing who he is. So he decided that it was a test from God and he failed because the boy showed mercy by saving him even when he had all the reasons and opportunity to do the opposite. And for that reason, Michael has been determined to protect humanity ever since. Gabriel at some point later was living on Earth in a human body. He had a son that would be David. After David slayed Goliath, he was destinated to become king but was then assassinated by the king of that time. Gabriel was furious, he killed the king, left for heaven and decided that human are treacherous and ungrateful for what he had done for them. And later in the series, it was revealed that God did not specifically ordered the angels to punish humanity, he only left behind an artifact that allowed them to do so. And Gabriel decided that it was God intention to exterminate humanity otherwise he wouldn't left them with the artifact. Michael on the other hand interpreted it as a test from God and pleaded Gabriel not to used the artifact with no success. And that's how it happened.

This is one of the most non horror movies that legit scared me. Those things the people turn into actually unsettle me.
Probably because the idea that a ANGEL not a demon but a ANGEL, possessing humans and telling them they’ll burn in hell, is actually terrifying

It's interesting how that film played with the mythical role of Michael.
Michael is the Captain of the Heavenly Host, a warrior general of the angels. It's why in nearly every depiction of Michael he is seen as a knight or warrior, clad in armor and bearing a sword or spear.
Gabriel is a messenger, a herald and speaker of God's will.

Because again, in the mythology...Michael is often depicted as one who intercedes on behalf of Man to defend and strike down the Serpent. It's why Michael is often shown in heraldry as a knight striking down a serpent...representing Satan. Again, the film plays with that interestingly. In the dire hour, Michael the Archangel (First among angels) comes in his full regalia and glory to protect mankind.
I will also note, I'm not a Christian but I find their mythology and mysticism fascinating.

This is one of my favorite movies. For those who don’t know this is actually part of a non-connected trilogy called The Fallen Angle Collection: Legion, Priest, and Gabriel. All absolute BANGERS!

I think a few mistakes may have been made in the logic of your own solutions on this one.
First off, using their time to set up additional defenses. While yes, it seems like the best play at the time, it would ultimately sabotage you in the end. Playing so many of your best defenses up front leave you extra vulnerable after the initial attack. The angels are smart enough to set traps, which means they are smart enough to recognize them, and have many hours between strikes to consider counters. With no clue how long this ordeal will go on for, it would make more sense to only set what you can reasonably believe you'll need with some margin for error at a time. This leaves you with potential to change up the allocation of your very limited resources as new opportunities become available. Personally, I would've taken advantage of the growing number of abandoned cars during the day to park myself a much more effective barricade and roadblocks. Maybe allocate some of that fuel as well to turn them into a dangerous mine field.
The second major error is suggesting that everyone stay to fight Gabriel at and overwhelming him with gunfire. While this would be worth the risk if he were your only obstacle, it's a terrible decision under the circumstances. Those bullets weren't embedding in his wings, meaning they were likely ricocheting. There's not much room for so many people to move around the diner at once, and they're not exactly all gun trained either. A hail of missed or ricocheted bullets leaves excessive risk of injuring one another and severely crippling anyone's chances of surviving a follow-up assault. Not to mention if one of those rounds were to bounce into the only fighter able to keep up with him. In that case, you'd never make it far enough to find out.

Probably one of the most supernatural things was how did the baby not die from being shaken a lot.
The baby survived (as a newborn) falling into someone’s arms, for that person to then do a roll to dodge a mace, and then a car accident that knocked everyone unconscious

I think the wings were his tracker so to speak. He’s the leader so convincing some others. I’m sure at least ONE other angel would object.
A big point is why rely on Guns? He’s an Angel, the Angel of power basically. Spawn uses guns to conserve energy, he doesn’t have that specific constraint. Especially given that his supposed weapon is a flaming sword that he has much more practice with and, considering they can block bullets, fire isn’t as easy to straight up block and would work for say combat.
As for the locusts, it was a determined cloud. They would get in and later with closed vents meant they would have more to turn back from. That actually saved them.
God has brutally killed even slight objections. Even if you had a perfect binder spanning billions of years, unlikely to convince. Michael would know this and likely tried already. Although if it was an angel test, stupid but tracks like the Forbidden Fruit
That said, God is convinced later, so it’s clear Michael just sucked at his defense. Clearly it’s possible and he just didn’t do good enough.
Cutting the wings may not work. It’s like capturing someone and taking off their uniform. Only if he actively changed would it likely work as God would sense the loyalty. They are still Angels, just without wings.
I'm sure something similar happened with Lucifer... Sounds right...

Love this movie. Truthfully if God wanted to get rid of us he wouldn’t need to send anything. It would just be over. The fact that humanity was given a chance to fight for their life shows they had a chance. 😊

I really liked the concepts this movie had and the overall fight. Ended up getting into the TV Sequel Dominion and it gets even more wild. Really crazy concepts and actually was pretty good for the first season and part of the second. But unfortunately they never finished the show, it was cancelled after two seasons.
Cutting off the wings removed his collar. While there might have been an alternative method I doubt it could be achieved fast enough.
While closing the vents would slow the locust they would have still pushed through.
I'm pretty sure Michael would have tried to convince God before going as far as this.

I love how I already watched all of these movies but I still take the time to watch all of these recaps- they are absolutely amazing and Cinnema Summary slays every video
driving through the locust swarm would've been bad. with that many, enough would've got sucked onto the engine air filter and stalled the car. then they'd be stuck in the middle of that mess. remember to always pack a spare electric car when going to confront a giant swarm of normally tiny stuff. like volcanic ash clouds. that can clog an air filter too. you could probably take the filter off and make sure you keep the car floored the entire time to force as much of that shit through and out the engine as fast as possible and that hopefully if it does stall, the momentum will be enough to just barely get you to coast out of the mess, but then instead of the car simply being stalled like with a clogged air filter, it'd just be dead cuz the engine is all blocked and seized up. so if you don't have an electric car, having spare air filters and a bug suit would be the best to get through it. when the car stalls, get out and replace the air filter, then go again. though if god is controlling the locusts intelligently, he could have them swarm into the air intake in the brief time you have the filter off, or, with just so many there, they might just fly into it on their own. so really really. your best bet is to entirely avoid driving through it at all, except with electric car.
Also aren't locusts like a really good food bug? Big source of nutrients?

With the mechanic’s shop, you could bend the pipes and use a saw to make makeshift caltrops, which were useful to stop warhorses, so there’s no reason why the sharpened pipes could tear the tires on the cars to pieces
I would get a RPG and the warehouse and then go to the military base and get supplies. You could get a lot of armor and then you could kill those entities
For some reason, I never registered that the things attacking the diner were *angels*; I thought god was letting demons do his dirty work for him.
I think the difference is with the characters and real life events is that the people would of had no idea what theyre facing next, no way they can predict that 100 cars full of monsters would be headed their way. while Hong Kong/Ukraine folks had time to prepare and strategize, at least more than a few hours.
