This isn't Within Temptation, nor is she trying to pass it as a band project. She specifically stated that this album's gonna be all solo material and that the new Within's music is coming in 2018. So what's the big deal? Because you don't like it, this talented artist should limit herself and keep her art hidden, because it might not please some closed minded people? I, for one, really enjoyed this song and am looking forward to the other ones.
More WT music coming, more music from her coming too, what's not to like?

We are indeed made up of many aspects, each day, each moment produces a different mood! I liked a Japanese female pianist by the name Hiromi Uehara say, because she has so many elements/style in her playing, "I AM WHAT EVER YOU SEE IN MY MUSIC, I play from the heart and play with a universal mind"!! She did not see herself confined to one particular genre!
Marlon not enjoying something does not makr someone closed minded. It's only normal for some WT fans to be annoyed that she was working on something else. I'm not saying the song is bad or anything, all I'm saying is that everyone has the right to an opinion whatever that opinion is.
Obviously everyone has the right not to enjoy this. My comment was directed to the people who think that they have some kind of ownership over the artists that they like, and that said artists should confirm and be locked inside a box. I don't think you're closed-minded if you don't like this, that's not what I meant. But it's very easy to accept only that which we like. What I said was directed to the people who think that because they don't like this, that it shouldn't exist. And that's not only being closed-minded but also entitled.
I stumbled upon this accidentally. I loved Within Temptation as a kid. This is a nice surprise. :)
if this was presented as the song for the Netherlands this Eurovision I would be going out of my mind with excitement
Even 3 years later this song never fails to make me emotional. My dad was obsessed with this song in the months before his sudden passing, and the frantic search to find a place that sold the cd so we could use it in the funeral will always be an important memory to me.

She is so kindly to explain why this side project exists. Because she cares a lot WT fans.. The song is not metal nor Hard Rock but is not WT .. But her voice is so sweet anf beautiful that i have the melody sticked in my head.

Sharon's voice is so distinctive and beautiful. Her 'slow' songs have always been my favorites. If this single is an indicator of what's to come, then this could be an album subtitled "The Lost Ballads Of Within Temptation". That's meant to be a compliment, BTW.
Het is zo interessant voor mij dat Sharon heeft haar eigen musicproject My Indigo genoemd. Ik hou van Sharon sinds ik 10 jaar oud was. En op de muur van de badkamer in mijn familiehuis heeft mijn moeder een vervoeging van het woord "indigo" in Engels geschreven: indigo indigoing indigone, lang voor ik geboren ben. Ongelooflijk! Wat toevallig!

I thought for a second it was going to be the end of Within Temptation, but now it's just the beginning of something new. I like it!
I have no idea what emotions this album is bringing out of me or how Sharon does it, but I love it :')
Actually she had a kind of burn-out followed by a depression caused by several private issues. One of the problems she was struggling with was her relationship with het partner They have been together for about 30 years already and have 3 kids together. Things got bad enough that they were even seperated for couple of months. In the end however they were able to work things out.
When during this period her father was diagnosed with a terminal disease she took a real hard look at what she wanted out of her live. She seriously considered stopping with the band. While this was going on she started writing songs as a kind self-therapy. The songs were never intended to be released. When things started to normalize again she played the songs for family close friend and her band members. All told her that she should release it as an solo album but it was to different to be released under the Within Temptation brand. So she started My Indigo as a side project. If you take a good listen at a lot of the songs you can kind of figure out the issues she was dealing with.
There is even more emotion in your voice than usual, you can feel it's personal
I was super scared about this announcement.
In hindsight, I have no idea why because I think I'd listen to everything Sharon does because I love her voice just so much.

I'm so glad that this was the big announcement. All of the "official statement" stuff scared me. I thought Within Temptation was breaking up. Getting a solo Sharon album before she heads back to the band was such a relief and this song is amazing!

Over the years I had moved away from my obsession with Within Temptation and found new music to enjoy. But the one thing about Within Temptation that I will never forget is Sharons beautiful voice. And now I get to enjoy her wonderful voice with a sound that more fits my taste and I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to hear more, best of luck with the solo project because so far it sounds fantastic!

I think it’s great that she do this album, she need it, and she deserve our respect with her choice.
