didn't sharon say that all these songs are very personal to her? so why are people taking offense with the lyrics, i don't understand. you don't know what exactly what she has been through that made her write this. if you honestly call yourselves fans, you should respect her and try, at least try, to see through her eyes. i think this song very good and the lyrics very brave. i still have so much respect for her, even if i stopped being an active wt fan. but this album.. man. this is gonna be brilliant.
Actually one of the reasons there was such a long period between the release of the "Resist" album and "Hydra" was that she had a kind of burn-out/depression combined with personal issues. Her father was diagnosed with a terminal decease (he actually died the day "My Indigo" record was released) and she even had relationship issues with her long time partner Robert Westerholt. The way she works through these issues is writing music and this record was the results of that. She actually never intended to release it but when she got through it she started playing these song to family, friends and her band mates and they all adivised her to release it.
He cheeted on her. But later she said the separation was good for her because she was way too clingy and dependent before and she understood why he broke up. The brake up made her grow her own independence. When they came back together they were both different people and also the relation had to be redefined. They used to write music together but My Indigo was written by her alone.
This music is better than the Hydra, Resist and current music by Within Temptation in terms of creativity. Sharon Den Adel should consider doing more of this indie pop music or other genres other than metal and hard rock. Sharon, perhaps this is the most beautiful song I have ever hear. It is really relatable with my life, with issues I am currently dealing with, exactly similar circumstances and stories with what pictured in the lyrics.
I don't know what you'd experienced and then wrote this beautiful song, but I can feel your deep emotion through this song. Really, I stumbled and hold my breath while listening and reading the lyrics.
