    I have a question, at Med school, have you done anything with animals? Or have you only had labs with cadavers? Thanks and love the videos!

    Can you please do a video from high school to now? Love you!!

    • @thebrittnyway
      @thebrittnyway  8 лет назад

      Sure! What would you like to know specifically?

    • @thebouchstyle
      @thebouchstyle 8 лет назад

      Haha well I guess everything!! I don't have specific examples of videos to link you to right now but I know JustOsaro and TheStriveToFit have one just talking about how you did in high school, what you did, grades, test score/etc, college app process, then undergrad and talking about how/why you chose your major, classes you took, what social life was like, and things like pre-med requirements, extra curriculars, jobs, volunteering, research, mcat and mcat prep, your grades/mcat score, and the med school application process! Sorry that's like a super long list but I think it would be so so SUPER helpful especially for someone like me who's in high school right now and applying for college and wanting to know more about how to get where you are right now and just your personal experience doing it! Thanks and love you so much, you're literally so amazing and such an inspiration!!!

    Hi brittny! looks like you are having so much fun. i am a new nurse contemplating this field. What are your thoughts on doctors who discourage students from going to medschool? I have experienced this from several physicians I went to for mentorship.

    • @thebrittnyway
      @thebrittnyway  8 лет назад +1

      Khalilah King Morning Khalilah! Did those doctors give specific reasons why you shouldn't become a doctor?

    • @khalilahking2501
      @khalilahking2501 8 лет назад +1

      Yes. Majority of them are the ones I encounter at work say it's a lot of debt take on, they have absolutely no life work balance and that there are other less financially and physically taxing options to pursue (such as np or pa) so they wouldn't recommend it which is scary. But there has to be a happy physician somewhere !

    • @thebrittnyway
      @thebrittnyway  8 лет назад +4

      Khalilah King I see, I'm not a physician yet and I won't pretend to know the ends and outs of the profession, after all I am still a student. Actually, I will ALWAYS be a student. But to answer your original question, my outlook is that there are positives and negatives to every profession whether it be np, pa, md, paralegal, lawyer, etc... it all boils down to what YOU make of your experience. That starts with being informed. So, in my opinion it's great that these physicians have shared their experiences and concerns. Now what you do with that knowledge is up to you. If debt is a concern, there are scholarship programs like the military HPSP or National Health Corps (Just to name a few). If lifestyle is a concern, there are specialties that allow for better work life balance like Dermatology or Family Medicine. I know that becoming a doctor is stressful, time consuming, and financially taxing but I KNOW deep down in my heart without a doubt that I wouldn't want to do anything else which makes it WORTH all that is required and all that comes with it. Once you figure out your WHY, your reason for pursuing your passions, then nothing can deter you. I hope this helps!

    • @thebrittnyway
      @thebrittnyway  8 лет назад +2

      Also, there are plenty of physicians who absolutely LOVE what they do. Don't be discouraged Khalilah!

    • @khalilahking2501
      @khalilahking2501 8 лет назад +2

      Exactly ! I have thoroughly researched all of these things but I never want to regret never trying to be a physician because of obstacles or naysayers who ended up hating this career. Super inspiring to see another black woman with similar aspirations. Medicine is absolutely amazing and I truly believe this is my calling :) appreciate your honest response girl !

    I am definitely looking into the same school and others but do you feel those who start off at a community college then later transfer to a four-year university do you think this can harm their chances of getting excepted into a medical school or or would you recommend taking off prerequisite classes at the four-year university then the community college. Do you feel this will allow the applicant to stand out in a positive or negative way showing growth and improvement towards their goals in medicine

    • @ADShine2022
      @ADShine2022 8 лет назад +2

      I don't think so! One of my peers was a high school dropout who later on decided to get her GED, went to two community colleges, transferred to a four year uni, and is now in med school with me. Good luck!!!!!

      +Adanma Nwachuku wow ok that's hopeful I would just hate for schools to over look a application because they started off at a community college that would really suck but thanks for your comment

    • @ADShine2022

      I definitely do not think so! As long as you excel with the circumstances given to you I think it will appear as a strength.
