It would be nice to know if Ray-Ban uses their own technology on the trasisition lenses or if they use another manufacturers lenses. I'm considering swapping out my Ray-Ban Meta's lenses for a pair of Transitions XtraActive Lenses. I'm wondering if such a swap would significantly improve the transition when using the glases in my car, which seems to have a UV protective winshield.
I love the Meta Ray-bans, but they don’t really transition enough imo. They get kinda dark visually, but don’t feel dark enough to use as actual shades in sunny conditions.
The Rayban transition lenses aren’t the only option for transition lenses. Any lens supplier should be able to supply other brands of transition lenses for the Meta Smart Glasses. Ive not seen any reviews that mention this, but other suppliers do have options for other brands of transition lenses, which can be much faster in darkening or lightering. I don’t know why this option is never mentioned in the reviews.
I love mine. I have no problem at all . I bought the headliner and got it LensCrafters with prescription eyeglasses. All options loaded. The only issue it short battery last max use 3hrs but charging case easy and fast No regrets
I have 2 of these in the transitions and 1 in the Dusty Blue with blue lenses. I think there is an issue with the transitions coating on that particular frame, because I had it with that exact same frame. The matte black Wayfarer. I sent it back and ordered the Caramel Brown with no issues and later the Headliner with none as well
Great showcase, I didn’t even notice that it wasn’t the full lens. Also, am I the only one that hates seeing the little Ray-Ban logo in my peripheral vision? I always think it’s something stuck on the lenses and it distracts me for a split second 😅🤷🏽♂️
This has been my biggest gripe with the smart Ray bans! I love the prescription, AI, cam, and video-but the transitioning is very poor. I actually complained and sent back my first pair and got a 2nd pair; it was not any better. Ray Bans are sunglasses and should transition fully like my regular glasses do-Ray Bans lenses should not be effected by the AI. Please Ray Ban, improve the “tinting” and make these glasses fully transition (Lens Crafters will place UV light on them and darken them, but that’s only a temporary fix)
I think the transition lenses get dark enough for me. Idk how dark people want them. They aren't polarized and if you want that ...then get polarized glasses lol

100% not dark enough... ups driver here and will be getting the non transitions shortly.
@ I bought some upgraded transition lenses from Xtractive that are supposed to be much better

I can't see it the logo when wearing the glasses so it doesn't bother me.
