Great review! I’m really in love with my Even G1. It’s subtle, lightweight, and feels completely low-profile. I don’t need anyone to know I’m wearing smart glasses, and its minimal design and practical features quietly make my life easier. With no camera, there’s no worry about privacy either. It’s like my little secret weapon, helping me feel sharper, more confident, and more efficient in this futuristic vibe.
It looks so much like regular glasses. Once your hair covers the touchpad, it’s hard to tell it’s a smart device. I think I’m sold, it really does make you look smarter, and in such a subtle way.
Really nice review and even better that it isn't sponsored. These are quite impressive for size and weight while providing most of the features I want in smart glasses. Translation and directions are critical but also it needs a camera for viewing the outside world and a speaker for hearing AI responses and it would really help for navigation directions, notification readings and even translation. A better control bar/button would be good as you suggest. These are better than a bunch of others that are much bigger and bulkier as well as those that have no screen.
I’ve had mine for 3 months now. I love them. I just need them to set timed reminders with my voice. As a nurse I want to set reminders or timers so badly
Such a fair review! I feel the same about G1, it definitely has room for improvement. Thankfully, Even Realities is quick to respond and genuinely listens to user feedback. Hope they hear your suggestions and bring us even better features in future updates.
Finally someone brought this up! I just started learning to skateboard, and pulling out my phone or even looking down could easily send me flying. I originally got the G1 to help me study, but honestly, when I’m on my board, the navigation that appears directly in front of my eyes is definitely the most practical feature!
These are my favorite implementation of smart glasses so far, others try way too much and it ends up being distracting. The one feature I would love (and it's open source so hopefully someone much better at programming than I knows how to use the API) is the ability to display the graph data for my Dexcom sensor which reads my glucose levels. As a diabetic knowing my number is important and the Dexcom is great for knowing at a glance. I can already use Dexcom Follow (which is designed for people to monitor a patient who can't manage themselves, like an elderly person) to display that info on my smartwatch so I hope someday I could see it on here and I think it wouldn't be that difficult to develop. I haven't gotten these yet but I'm very close to pulling the trigger on these.
i'm really hoping for these kinds of smart glasses to catch on. they look great and seem like a useful and cool, but non intrusive gadget. Maybe one day we'll be able to control the glasses via eye tracking and pinching, like on the Vision Pro. Also, i know it's a niche need, but i would love some sort of Anki integration, since that's mostly text based too. Being able to do my flashcard reviews on smartglasses while walking through a park sounds awsome! Maybe the device needs a more open platform in general, to allow developers and tinkerers to expand its capabilities.
Great review...appreciate the unsponsored review. Subbed. I have three different sets of smart glasses (meta, soundframes, and vue). I feel like having a camera is a gimmick and don't see a lot of value for my day to day use. However, i really wish these had speakers. And they allowed for bifocals (not in the US).
dont forget the painful red marks thanks to the sticky silicone nosepads and all the disconnections, errors and stuff besides this its well made and has a impressive 2 day battery atleast in my normal usage.
I like how these ones look more like normal glasses, but they aren't as smart as the other's I've seen that has cameras, or AI. Once they combine it's gonna be perfect
Camera glasses is going to be questionable in the future. If smart glasses are prescription, then will be they confiscated at concerts where they lock up your cell phone? Or the many areas that cameras are not allowed?

@@MikeOBrienMedia Ay thats awesome!! I have the G1s as well and absolutely love them, so I'm glad they're already working on the next gen ones. This company really made a great product compared to other smart glasses out there.
Question: to read the screen do I need to refocus my eyes and then refocus again to look out at the world? Looks like it won't work with hearing aids but otherwise looks like a decent product and should evolve well with feedback from users.

I wish they followed what Steve Jobs did. Just make it a premium price without breaking the bank. It cant do many things a cheap phone does but its 800.. why? This pricing would be okay maybe (maybe!) if they were apple or samsung.

It is astonishing to me (as european) that walking with a Google map open on the phone targets you for crime and that smart glasses are a necessity not to get robbed. Anyway, amazing review! 👏🏼
It’s astonishing to me, as someone who pays attention to the news all over the world, that there are Europeans who pretend shit like this doesn’t happen in Europe. Paris, quite literally, fkn exists and is known for theft. London?! Amsterdam? Italy??! Poland?? Some Europeans try so hard make people in the states seem stupid and the states itself look like it’s filled with heathens and, they definitely fkn can be, but you people do it while exhibiting the exact same level of ignorance. Tell me the US has culture of stupidity that descends from Europe without telling me.
@@Ozzymandius1 It happens in certain cities, indeed. I am just pointing out how "you will not get robbed" is a selling point of smart glasses, i.e. how we live in fucked up world.
I could be wrong, but hear me out. I think this applies to Europe as well. 1) these don't look like smart glasses. They don't even look like expensive glasses. 2) criminals looking to pickpocket or rob someone may prefer those who appear lost or unfamiliar with the area. Walking with Google maps open could be just that 3) when wearing the glasses, you can look at the map and still be aware of your surroundings quite easily. Just my thoughts here. Again, I could be wrong. I have no data to back the hypothesis
I love their AI assistant feature. Just press and hold the touchpad to ask a question, and the glasses display GPT's response right in front of me. Sometimes I don’t even have real questions, I just chat for fun. My G1 feels almost alive with AI.
It projects the screen so it looks like it's hovering a few meters in front of you. Kind of like how VR makes it look like things are far away, even though the screens are right next to your eyes, though obviously without all the other stuff that makes VR VR. It's supposed to be better for your eyes too since you're not constantly changing your focal distance to check stuff.
