I'm on the fence about the transitions, and was wondering if you could clarify a few points: 1) From your experience, how quickly do they transition from "sunglasses mode" into "regular glasses mode" - do you find yourself with an awkward minute or two where you're indoors and the tint is still on? Or is the transition pretty instantaneous? 2) Does the tint ever "turn on" when you're still indoors e.g. in a bright, sunny room? 3) When in "sunglasses mode", how would you rate the comfort level when in a vey sunny environment? Thanks so much!
@ the transition is very fast, maybe within seconds, so there isn’t any noticeable moments where that becomes an issue. The lenses don’t really transition until directly in the UV light, so when sitting in a bright room or anything like that will not make them transition. Comfort level, besides the glasses being a little heavier than normal, i think they are great. I wear the glasses almost all day long and it hasn’t bothered me in the least. At first the weight takes some getting used to because the glasses would slide down more nose more than usual, but that gets better over time. Not going to lie, these have been my overall favorite and more useful piece of tech that I’ve owned in a long time. It’s such a great extension to the phone, that I don’t actually have to touch my phone as much anymore, not to mention i will never buy a pair of earbuds again, i love using the glasses instead. Oh one thing i forgot to mention about the transitions, if you are driving on a sunny day, they may not transition all the way, because the wind screen of the car has UV protection and that prevents the transition lenses from working as intended.
@@Sleepeaze Very helpful. Thank you! Last question: have you ever taken notice of the tint when outside on an overcast day? Will it ever only transition partially, or not at all? I'd want to avoid having a half-cooked tint when walking around outside... Thanks again!
@ I guess you would say it does half tint, but its not noticeable. It just wont be as dark as it would be when full sun. So if you are trying to hide your eyes from other people, then no. They would be able to see your eyes. But when i say half, it’s not like there’s some kind of shifting lines or anything like that.
@ as the person wearing them though, you do not really notice the transition at all because its fast and smooth. On cloudy days like you asked, it may not be at its darkest, but more like a grayish. Then turns clear as you go inside. Everything happens so fast that you don’t really notice. You might notice maybe the first day, but it’s something that you quickly get used to. I hope this answers your questions.
This is a brilliant video. I have bought them but only used sparsely so far so was good to get a quite detailed opinion of someone who uses them a lot.

FYI, you can only change the brightness of the LED of the inner white light, which tells you that you are recording or when the glasses are doing something. The outer white light, you can't change the brightness, unfortunately.
The battery life is very short or none in cold/freezing conditions. I´ve been using my Meta glasses daily since May. My glasses are prescription glasses.
I’m considering these for shooting BTS of photo/video shoots as well. I’d love to hear how they’ve been working out for you especially since you ended up not going with the transition lenses.
When I ask meta to tell me what I’m seeing it tells me “I can’t do that on your glasses”. Anyone resolved this? I went through all the settings and nothing.
The feature is meta AI which is only available in the US. If your in the US and have a vpn. Turn it off. Uninstall meta view. Then Reinstall meta view with vpn off. Once install you can enable vpn
Given that the glasses camera has a 60-second recording limit, would it be best to press the button immediately after each segment ends to start a new recording, or is there an optimal method to ensure smooth and continuous filming across short segments?

@ I never really timed this or watched it, I’ll try to notice more. I haven’t felt like it’s too slow or too fast. I’ll try test it out. I posted some shorts with meta over the weekend. The quality is clear in the day, especially in fast moving scenarios. I think it’s a slow transition, I am on holiday in South Africa at the moment , so sun is decent.
my only problem is that during winter, the day gets dark too fast, can barely wear them since their sunglasses 😂 im counting the days for longer sunny days
Why when you’re doing a video do I see a blur on each side of the video? And once you video, is there a way to make it landscape mode once you download it to your phone?
the only major failing for me is the vertical recording, I don't want vertical video even in my phone as I would much rather watch it in landscape mode anyway but then again and not a facebook/instagram/tiktok kind of person, for me mobile is a painful trade-off so you can do stuff on the move, not a proper native workspace - it will stay that way until i die i believe
I want them for BTS filming, just like you. Can you tell me if the polarize lens make it too dark or hard to see the lcd screen on the Camera? I'm considering transition or clear lenses.
frustrated with these glasses, the meta app constant freezes and meta not responsive or makes an error sound and ive factory reset so many time and forced restart so many times to get it working again lol
You were told wrong about the transitionals. I bought these when they first came out and I got the transitionals and ended up returning them because I needed the large frames because they were the normal size.
The biggest problem I see Once the battery starts failing , Your screwed as the Meta store says your glasses and case battery is non removable and can not be replaced and the only option you have is throwing them away
I was thinking the same thing. Bought mine from Best Buy and because I'm a member, they include a 2 year warranty for no charge. I have to imagine 2 years from now, I'll probably want the new version and sell these on eBay then.
@arcticmonkey3 I'm the USA and as long as you're a member, you get Best Buy Protection for everything you buy. What surprises me, is that for Apple products they include Apple Care for free too 🤯. No way they are making money on this. I've bought Apple watches for my kids, wife and father. I bought iPads for school and iPhones. I've also bought vacuums and mice, all these are covered free 😅.
I like that you can leave them on in the case so if you need to grab to take a shot, they're already on and ready to go. I am very impressed with these. Was fully expecting to return them after trying them but I love them.
Been searching for smart glasses for 12 year old visually impaired child. His vision can't be helped by prescription. Ideally he needs to use both inside and outside but if transition glasses are only in medium sized frame won't help.
Good glasses....one main problem. After one year of good service, the battery is dead, and all its functions along ...useless except as prescription glasses
Most useful review of these that I've seen; thoughtful and you're an excellent presenter. Cheers.
Ah thanks for the super nice comment! 👍
So glad I got the transitions. I use them just as much inside as I do outside.

Thanks! Glad you liked it!
I have had them for three months and love them. The best thing I use them for is skiing . Fantastic resolution with clear light.
I have the transitions in the S/M size, love them. Audio and picture quality is far better than I expected.

And in the car? Do they work?
Im reimbursing my self for the from my HSA. Got the frame and having perscription lenses for them.
Love this video 👏🏼👏🏼
I have prescription transitions and love the audio and AI features. I use the mics on zoom calls and works great.
I agree I’m really happy with them too. Thanks for the feedback and watching.
Rx transition? 🤯
Underrated keep killing it brother ❤️❤️❤️
I just got these and have watched tons of videos to get familiar with them - yours was super informative and the best I've come across.
Ah awesome! Thanks so much. Glad it helped.
Great detail, I don't think you could have condensed it much more and still got your point across. - Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback and kind comment!

They make the small size 50mm in transitional. I bough a pair yesterday. At sunglass hut
Excellent job on the review ! :) Thank You :)
I didn’t like the blinking light so I made covers to cover the lens. So now I BBC an have it covered and still video record at the same time🔥🔥🔥🔥
How did you do it?
@ it’s on the channel friend. And we sell the covers buy some
@ just using my glasses with cover yesterday no problem. I don’t know what your talking about
@ work again I just did my new upgrade this morning it’s the samething. Stop making false claims 🤦🏿♂️
That would be illegal where I live. People need to be aware you are recording them
The battery life is very short or none in cold/freezing conditions. I´ve been using my Meta glasses daily since May. My glasses are prescription glasses.
great vid man, mine are on the way, polarized, but shoulda got the transitions, that would be super cool!!
Liked and subbed. One question, Meta AI look and QR scanning. Is this working for you in the UK? Mine just keep on saying its a voice assistant.
Same can we have some help please??
fantastic review!
Mine is a prescription, I have the transition lenses. I use mine for phone calls and podcasts. I rarely use it for music
And can you see clearly?
Hey, what’s that microphone that you’re using there?
I’m considering these for shooting BTS of photo/video shoots as well. I’d love to hear how they’ve been working out for you especially since you ended up not going with the transition lenses.
Just put up a new video about just this ruclips.net/video/xQIuhd9tFt8/видео.htmlsi=Vdav8y08hUgQRxUd
thanks for providing more nuance to the rayban experience!
How did you get the look and ask feature to work, I was told it’s not available in the uk as mine doesn’t work and I bought them the Christmas Eve.
Lekker review. Got myself a pair. Unfortunately this side of the pond, only snow, rain and wet weather.
I have the medium warfare transitions
Would like to see a video of a bunch of things you’ve recorded with the glasses
Will be making more content soon 👍
Great video, I the meta glasses as well and I love them .
Awesome! Thank you!
When I ask meta to tell me what I’m seeing it tells me “I can’t do that on your glasses”. Anyone resolved this? I went through all the settings and nothing.
That's what is holding back my purchase. I have heard that from others.
Yup same here
Mine works from day 1. Have you tried factory resetting it in case it’s due to a permission you didn’t give during setup

Got them, took a while to get the Meta Ai in the UK, love them, and wear them every day. Go buy them. Got the large G15 Green Transitions.
Plz tell me can I connect them to wifi device instead of phone’s internet? Moreover can It answer long queries?
Hello using an iPhone for my ray ban meta glasses Do you happen to activate live translation ??
what is the size of the glasses you are wearing in this video? like 50-19-145 or 54-20-145. I do not mean Medium or Large.
Given that the glasses camera has a 60-second recording limit, would it be best to press the button immediately after each segment ends to start a new recording, or is there an optimal method to ensure smooth and continuous filming across short segments?
You can record for up to 3 minutes 👍🏻
They make the transition size in the smaller frames.
Thanks for the update, I thought it was only large.
I got the transition glasses , they are epic 🏆

if i buy the meta raybans now, will it be the new ones presented at meta connect conference with all the new AI features?
Basically since is just an update
lol
my only problem is that during winter, the day gets dark too fast, can barely wear them since their sunglasses 😂 im counting the days for longer sunny days
Would be cool
If they add some software to the app that could adjust the video orientation to for RUclips
Why when you’re doing a video do I see a blur on each side of the video? And once you video, is there a way to make it landscape mode once you download it to your phone?
I put the blur in the edit. All video is always in vertical mode. You can’t change it.

very good video am buying the meta facebook glasses next year by then they be even more cool updates for them do they pick up video sound well
is the recording in a portrait orientation on purpose...can you change to landscape?
Unfortunately, it’s only portrait
I have a samsung galaxy A15 are they compatible
How do you get the Look and Ask feature? I’m in the UK and can’t get it
i think u need to unistall meta app. turn on usa vpn. install app, keep usa vpn on to get AI work. AI isnt working in uk
When is the English/Spanish translation feature come live anyone know?
Is there a way to make horizontal shooting
Only by turning the glasses sideways
frustrated with these glasses, the meta app constant freezes and meta not responsive or makes an error sound and ive factory reset so many time and forced restart so many times to get it working again lol
They should put in a sound alarm so you can find them if theyre lost in room
thanks man
No problem!

Bro my meta ai is not working any solutions???
Throw it away or call the manufacturer instead of asking RUclips 😂
how long can u record video
3 minutes
@@RyanElliot thank you ,! where can i buy it from its not available in india

can people hear music playing if there sitting right next to you?
Not really unless it’s at full volume

Smart
can you actually film 3minutes now? you know if thatzs worlwide im in germany atm but i wanna get it for thailand
Pretty sure it’s worldwide

3 minutes. LOL. Ya'all just HATE money, is that it? Oh, wait, my mistake you LOVE FREE THINGS, my bad.
