Tip for Blender here: if you hover your mouse over a text/number/color field, you don't need to click, select and Ctrl+C... you can just hover and press Ctrl+C. Blender will know you wanted to copy the field's contents :D (Something every software should do!!). Of course, the problem with this (which is why maybe you did it by selecting text directly) is that it will copy over the "m" for meters. This can be fixed by going to the Scene Tab in the Properties Editor, and choosing "None" as the Unit. Now there would only be numbers (not units) in the number fields for the empties positions. Hope it helps, and great tutorials!! :D
8:54 such a classic blender moment, you can see what happens, you select another point but blender decides not to update the coordinates with the new point, instead just leaves its cool 3D cursor behind and keeps showing the coordinates for something you selected previously... I find blender so hard to learn for reasons like this. Great tutorial tho, thank you
Wonderful tutorial. Can you do a separate tutorial on how you achieved your photogrammetry process in Blender? This tutorial really reminds me of what we used to do with Maya and Real-Viz Matchmover back in the day.
Hey sorry for the late reply! I'm slow with RUclips comments. I actually just did a stream on survey solving my kitchen. You can search "Track VFX Live". It's one of the most recent videos. I did learn something about how syntheyes works with trackers enabling and re enabling between the images you shoot. So there's a part I struggle with where 3Dequaliser works better. But I do figure out the problem close to the end of the stream ha. Survey solves give you better 3D data to use in other shots where parallax is lacking. I took pictures on my phone then tracked and solved them in Syntheyes. Did the modelling / reconstruction in Blender. I should have clarified that if I didn't. Sorry about that. ha

@@trackvfx6760 No worries about the "late" reply ;) Awesome, this explains everything. Keep up the great work 👍
Can you do a video about inputting focal length and plate size? I always get worse results when I try to say what lens was actually used during shooting
Syntheyes should pay you! you are doing them big favor

You are an angel of tracking tutorials. And funny too. Reminds me of Andrew Kramer.
That's actually an honor being compared to Andre3w lol Those tutorials were my childhood.

"Over in Blender I did some photo modeling..."

What are your thoughts on Syntheyes being bought by Boris FX?
Cool tutorial Kal, and neat set extension :)
The set extension was super fun! trying to have a small vfx shot each tutorial now. Keeps it fun for me.
You are awesome bro love your tutorial
