Legend 🙌 Thanks for creating this video and walking through a working solution.. I absolutely love my 2 x 30” cinema set-up but could never get the second monitor connected after upgrading to an Mac Studio (M2) last summer. 🖥️✨🖥️
Do you think that m2 Mac mini + OWC dock + 2x usbc to dual dvi adaptors + 2x apple cinema 30” would work? Because Mac mini can run only one display through thunderbolt..
Mac mini (2023) with M2 chip supports up to two external displays simultaneously, based on the resolution (up to 6K) and refresh rate (up to 60Hz) of each external display.
Thank you for your great work. I came across this solution by chance and am quite happy about it. However, I cannot drag or use a program window across both screens. Is it the same for you or have I overlooked something? Electronic greetings from Germany
Hey, Thanks for feedback - what do You mean cannot drag? MacOS have limitation on that so You can't drag window half between two screens and this is what I got, and same is while using iPad as second display. While I'm editing in FInalCut I also need to choose what can be where - and it can't be in between. Always You can try grab bootcamp with Windows and make sure it's working properly there to rule out any hardware issue.
If You ever used 4K or 6K on 30" You never want go back - that's the truth. I still use it with my M2 MacBook and I'm very happy - if You can score one with good price - 100% worth it.
Is anyone able to use the 30” display running latest Mac OS Ventura ? Backlight and shows on Mac but no picture. ruclips.net/video/V8HFBACl5IA/видео.html
I'm currently using it on Ventura and without any problems - so it's 100% not because of that OS version but I'm using Intel CPU (2,6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7). Are You sure that Your adapter is HDCP OFF? It should be printed on small tab. Could You borrow any other laptop and try it on Windows machine?
@@ElectronicNoobBlog Hi thanks for the reply. I actually got a different adapter and now it works. However.... there are a ton of screen artifacting. It's a known issue for nearly everyone using these older displays with M series Macs. Hopefully there is a solution.
@@BluePlanetDrone Thanks for feedback, sadly I don't own any from M series so I won't be any help. Wish luck, if You find solution You are welcome to post it - at some point we are going to be on same boat when I move to M1.

Sorry but to be honest have no idea, I don't own any M(1/2) computers to try.

Very good video, I am trying to create this setup now.
Good luck!
With the owc thunderbolt dock could you hook up three 30” apple cinema monitors to the Apple laptop

Dude what hub is that ? Mine doesn’t work and I think it’s because it’s not thunderbolt supported
It's OWC Thunderbolt Hub
How bad is this 30” compared to nowadays 4K monitors ?

@@ElectronicNoobBlog i got one for free but from what i see it sucks : ) i am confused about you saying 4k while this is a 2K monitor 🤔
@@ivanzivojinovic1606 I mean if You ever use 4K then it will feel like 2K sucks. Are You sure You have set it up to 2560 x 1600?
thank you!
You're welcome!
That lead is £50 in the UK👀
Recommend search for used one - You can grab good deal and they won't wear out.

this just proves that regular pc components are so much easier to use, not bulshit overpriced apple products :-)
what a nonsense comment
