Heather this is my favorite thus far. Fall is my favorite season....the colors n everything. I know it's just a simple cake but it Is gorgeous to me. Tfs (Hugs)
hi Heather! how are you? watching this vdo u made long ago.. every time i see the stuff u make, i feel like running to my craft table n start making it!!!
Hi Heather, Wow! What a cute idea. Rather than just doing just the candy, make it into a cake. You can do the same thing with a candy cane. Make a candy cane cake. :D That will be really cute. Il have to try that one. Take care, Dee
I made these cake slices and they turned out absolutely great! My only problem is that when you touch the slices the glitter gets on your hands a bit. Any suggestions? I put sculpey glaze on one but it completely ruined the glittery effect...
i really enjoy watching these videos, but i wanted to make a tiny suggestion because i have been watching a lot of videos about texturing and the one thing that is said the most is to not do it in circular motions to try and pick at it without lifting it out of the clay.
Hannah Steinberg Thanks for sharing what you have seen. Over time, this is just what I have liked the look of best, but I am always happy to know about, and try other techniques.
Hi Heather, I have a question. When I roll out clay sometimes, I get air bubbles or bumps inside my clay. I'm guessing they get in their when I condition it. I know you have a pasta roller but would you have any idea on how to prevent that? Thanks.
Vivi Cruz I thought I had responded yesterday but I don't see it now. I tend to condition by hand. THe longer I run something through the pasta machine the more that will happen. I just try to keep the top side open after folding it in half to fee through the machine so it is less likely to happen
Teresa Hutchinson these guys are 30 minutes to bake the cake, and 13 - 15 minute for the second baking when I add the decorations. I use primarily Premo though. I had problems with Sculpey III burning when I first started working with polymer clay, I haven't had that problem with Premo at all.
It has to be 275 . or the temp required on your clay package. you should place an oven themometer in your oven before baking any smore clay it sounds way too hot.
I am unfamiliar with your oven. The clay won't scorch unless it is too hot. Does the oven have numbers or just go from high to low. If it is just high to low you will need to use a temperature thermometer to test it and see where the temperature peaks. If it is gas, does it fluctuate to maintain heat? I use a toaster oven that is digital, and regulates its own heat. My kitchen oven is about 25 degrees off, and is only about 13 years old. It has to be re calibrated before I cook polymer clay in it. Different clay suggest different cooking temperatures as well.
Heather, have you ever tried putting your pieces in the refrigerator for a few minutes to firm them up faster before slicing? I'm very impatient and have had good luck with it.
Brooke Reis I mix sculpey III and premo, but they are from the same manufacturer I heard fimo isn't compatible with Premo, but I haven't tried mixing them personally
Sarah P I think a orange white, and yellow swirled peppermint style candy would be cute too. I don't think I will do that color combination though. I will probably just jump 2 christmas swirled peppermints
Jessey Yang Suggested Slice of cake. Send me a private message through youtube, or through my shop to leave me your address www.etsy.com/shop/Sweetnsavorytrinkets

Heather Wells Thanks for replying! I don't have a pasta machine though; would you happen to have any tips for bubbles with hand rolling?
I really like that cookie cutter where did u get that?
The are called Kemper pattern cutters. Here is the link to the page.

How long do u bake for. ?? I always over bake and never know if it's baked enough

how come when i baked for ten mins the charms i made went black? i did them at lowest gas mark too
It has to be 275 . or the temp required on your clay package. you should place an oven themometer in your oven before baking any smore clay it sounds way too hot.
but how can it be too hot when it is on the lowest gas mark??
