    Thanks Tim @Scopp Distribution - South Africa. Can these co-exist in the same Unifi Network Management Server (Software-based Appliance) without disconnecting regularly? We tried expanding the exisitng WiFi network with 4 UAP-AC-LR using an addition 2 U6-LR and had issue with them. What's your take?

    Thanks so much for this. It certainly makes the decision to get the U6 Lite over the AC LR which i was leaning towards. The big question though is when will the U6-LR be available? So far no supplier has been able to give an ETA.

      We should be receiving some stock next month but would suggest placing a back order. Our sales team will contact you once it has arrived.

    In my residence I have 2 ac lr (wifi 5). I would like to add a third access point to the network - unifi 6 lite (wifi 6). Will they work without incompatibilities or conflicts? can i leave the 3 access points without problems?

      All the UniFi access points will work without any issues.
      If you have a WiFi 6 compatible device, then adding the U6-LITE will be a positive. The only downside to consider is that with the achievable speed of the U6 being higher than that of the AC-LR models, when moving to the location where the LR units are mounted, you may experience a slight drop in performance if making use of a WiFi 6 device.

    We are having issues with the U6-Lite. We replaced a existing UAP-AC-LITE four months ago and have had nothing but issues. After about 24 hours devices disconnect and show "auth failure". A restart of the U6-Lite fixes the issue for awhile but always returns. We have also disabled most features like wifi AI that is known to cause issues.
    I'm waiting on feedback from Ubiquiti on this but we have had to put the old AC-Lite back in its place.

      There are a number of wireless network settings that can be adjusted, after making sure that both controller software and firmware is up to date. Please feel free to contact our tech support team to troubleshoot

      You might want to try roll back the AP's fw. Many many people have similar issues irrespective of which Ap, firmware or controller they use. Seems like 'general' bugs in the Ubiquiti software qc. When this happens have you tried to Ssh into the Ap & check + set the inform URL?

      Also, could you not set the Ap to reboot automatically at say 5am?

      I upgraded to the new UDM-Pro from a (USG, CloudKey Gen2) and no longer have issues with the U6-Lite. Surprise, surprise upgrading equipment fixes it.

    A question about the U6 usability in the absence of a controller. Im planning to use two U6 lites in my home, but dont want to get a controller, Can I configure it directly over the local network without needing an controller or a always-on server/pc? Can I configure stuff like guest networks without this?

    • @scoop_distribution
      @scoop_distribution  2 года назад

      Direct configuration is designed for individual AP's so I wouldn't recommend it in your case. The software does not need to be always-on and can just be used to provision settings to multiple devices, once they have the settings they remain on the AP. Our suggestion would be to install the free version on a PC just for your initial setup. You would only need to run the controller again if you ever wanted to make changes.

      @@scoop_distribution Can it be done with multiples AP, have you ever done it?

    • @scoop_distribution
      @scoop_distribution  2 года назад

      @@rafaelreusch If you are referring to using the app to configure them individually in stand-alone mode then they will operate independently. You would have duplicate SSID's and wouldn't be able to take advantage of roaming. If you configure with the SDN software and take away the controller afterwards it works fine with the exception of hotspot features.

    I have 800 down by 20 up from isp. I only get 250 down and 21 up with U6 Lite.
