    Great video! Might be worthwhile to mention that DHCP clients needs to have their default routes with different priority too, by default they have same so I was puzzled that internet didn't work even though switch definitely happened in the route table

      Hi Ivan. Yes, that's a great point. Making sure to have different priorities on your DHCP clients' routes is crucial for a smooth transition between WANs. Thank you for the input.

    @scoopdistribution, we tried to setup the same with LT700 Cudy router. The server one is showing connected with exactly same settings as in the video, but the client one is showing 'Not Connected' after uploading the config in the same manner as the video. Am I missing something obvious please? As ISP didn't assign a public IP, we got DDNS setup on server and able to ping to it from client, but no luck with VPN connectivity.

    • @scoop_distribution
      @scoop_distribution 4 дня назад

      Good day. Is the server that you have setup, also a Cudy WR1300 or are both of your devices the LT700? Ensure that the remote subnet of the client (when configuring the server) is not the same as as the LAN on the server side. is the DDNS URL put into the Endpoint Host section on the client configuration?

    • @vishuuee
      @vishuuee 4 дня назад

      @@scoop_distribution both are LT700. Yeah using DDNS url in the endpoint host but it didn't resolve. Tried direct ping from the client which didn't work. Not sure why but in both OpenVPN and Wireguard, they were putting in static public IP rather than DDNS. Cudy ticket helped and they suggested to use ZeroTier which worked. Thank for your response, i'll double check remote subnet is different as well because would have preferred it working with OpenVPN or Wireguard as they are free.

    • @scoop_distribution
      @scoop_distribution 4 дня назад

      You can create a Visitor access for guests. Do this by clicking the "+" button next to Active Visitors on the UniFi Access Dashboard. In the window that opens you can add all the details for the visitor as well as which doors are accessible and with what credentials. If you do not have a number pad on the door access device, the visitor will require a Ubiquiti account and the UniFi Identity app for mobile access if they do not have a preconfigured NFC tag or card.

    Have no idea about which IP addresses 192.168.1.1 and 1.2 you are talking about. Who generate those addresses and how mikrotik can magically have 1921.68.1.2 when it is not booting into anything and where I can download netinstall when there is none?

    • @scoop_distribution
      @scoop_distribution Месяц назад

      Configure a static IP on your machines Ethernet interface (192.168.1.1). In the Netinstall application configure the IP address in the Netbooting menu (192.168.1.2). This will enable the application to communicate with your machine on the same IP subnet

    Thank you very much very well explained and easy to understand, in the second route it would be redundant to do it recursively since it would not return to the first one if it is down, now it would make sense to do it in the second interface if there is a third route.

    I get the overall concept but I need to be able to see the inputs you used on the screen longer. You need to add columns to your routes so that I can see all your inputs on one location and better see the big picture. Not all of us are "auditory" learners.... some need better visuals. The settings you used on individual screens are harder to keep track of than if they were all visible on the Routes screen.

    Nice explanation. Right to the point. Just a question: How does the routing work on the master, if two interfaces, vrrp and bridge, are in rhe same subnet (192.168.88.0/24)?

    • @scoop_distribution
      @scoop_distribution 2 месяца назад

      Glad you enjoyed the video. All traffic will be routed to the VRRP interface instead of the bridge interface. The VRRP interfaces all form a 'virtual router' which acts as the gateway for the network and all rules you create should treat it as such. Since you would be using multiple routers, the bridge IP of each router will be how you can access the intended device for management purposes. This way the VRRP and bridge interfaces can be on the same subnet without issue.
