- Well, here it is. The Microlino is finally entering production, and if you haven't heard of this lil' fella, you will soon. The price is right, mega cheap, and with one door it's sure to turn some heads. There's a catch though...

I am hoping that they’ll sell the Microlino here in the States as I’d like something to get around in….
I hope that it can be modified to run here in the states.

Cette voiture le l'ai vu dans un film avec Fred Astaire : drôle de frimousse. J'avais relevé le nom de la voiture"isetta", et j'ai cherché à en savoir plus,quelle surprise quand j'ai vu qu'elle était ressortie,et quel coïncidence ! Elle me fait craquer !
De plus les couleurs sont gaies et jolies !

So a Ford F 150 bumper is right even with the bottom of the windshield.
Cute but 15k still a bit much for it.
I'd worry some guys would lift it into bed of pickup and go. It DOES look just like an Isetta.
First. :-) Deeply pray, my plan works- I'll tweet Elon and Fisker, to combine the looks of the Microlino with the build techniques of the Changli the cheapest car at US$1000, it just needs the style of the Microlino and it'll look better even if it's a bit expensive coz' Elon and Fisker will need to put lithium batteries but I'd guess it would only be around US$1200. That'd be perfect for billions of students and students who just graduated or newly weds.

Yea! There's a market for small and affordable city cars... not everyone is comfortable on a moped, oh.. and it rains sometimes. This microlino probably isn't it, but I dig your idea man.
@@GearboxPizza I wish I had that in college and your bestfriend (maybe one more, they sit on top of each other X-D) go to places after school and it's a good school where camaraderie is the highest (like Steubenville University), so no big car from another group goes "vroom vroom" as we meet at the intersection, vying for who's in the right of way, like in the movies. I'd put a rack up there put the bike standing up and surfboard and stuff :-)
How much would that be if it's subsidized by US government?

$14,500 is not the price I have seen quoted.

$14,500 for this is insane. The changeover to Electric vehicles is an excuse to "reset" car prices to make them too expensive for average drivers. Come on, this thing should be well under $5000.
R&D, current high cost of batteries, original ground up design and manufacturing in Switzerland and Italy. Yep, it’s priced about right. You get what you pay for.
Well under $5k… Please, elaborate on how this would be even remotely possible?
@@jimmyw7530 In Europe you can get a REAL 4 seater petrol automobile that can go 400 miles on a single tank for under 7000 Euro's. So by comparison this is poor value for money.

I thought we were comparing apples with apples. EVs are still expensive due to the batteries. Everyone knows this. Your argument rides on a single budget model Dacia I presume. Stripped out model for a low starting price that no one would buy.
This is a new concept EV for urban transport in the tight confines of busy and ancient European cities. You charge it at home for very little cost and maintenance costs are low.
Factor in the cost of fuel in Europe and this little car closes the price/cost gap with the Dacia in a couple of years.
In Italy the Smart FourTwo was insanely popular because it was so small. Imagine trying to park a massive American car on the streets of Rome and I think you may begin to understand. Context matters.
@@jimmyw7530 How on earth can you call a Dacia a "stripped out model for a low starting price", and yet somehow think this toy car is more like a fully fledged vehicle ?
and for your information although you suggest that "no one would buy it" Dacia's are one of the most popular models in Europe, albeit because of price, but that is something this thing fails to grasp.
@@jakejoliet8200 how many people buy the cheapest model though? Not many. Most people boost it up to at least the mid range $9-10k models.
So you’re going to totally ignore context and the niche market this vehicle was clearly made for to make sweeping statements about vehicle size. Also ignoring long term economic benefits and environmental concerns?
