One has to think when buying an EV. 1. How far can it go per charge? 2. How fast is this EV? Hopefully, not too fast. 3. How fast can you charge the battery? 4. How safe is this EV? 5. Stability when driving 6. Number of passengers 7. Air conditioning, as it is a necessity in tropical countries like Malaysia. 8. Can it climb a road with a gradient of 25°? 9. In my country (Malaysia), the cheapest gasoline fuel 4 seater car is MYR22,500. Today's currency exchange USD1 = MYR4.66 Your price of Nimbus One EV USD10,000 = MYR46,600 More than double the price of our Perodua Axia price MYR22,500. I believe the manufacturer can reduce the price if it is in mass production. If they don't do it now, they will lose out to China if the latter does it in mass production of the EV China version.
Do you have any information as far as the voltage of the battery? Based on the size and the weight of the battery, I believe it's running a 48 volt battery bank. I expect to add a solar panel to the storage rack and use a Renogy mppt charge controller with low temperature cut off and a Bluetooth Interface. My low mileage each week would mean that I never pay to recharge. I am customer # 1766, so I have plenty of time to wait for my vehicle to be delivered to me.
Always kinda like the idea. I know Toyota made the Toyota iRoad which is basically the same design, difference is that Toyota doesn't actually sell the iRoad to consumers, it's exclusively a fleet vehicle mainly for rentals in Japan. As far as I know they've never been bought by anyone outside of Japan. But I can also tell Toyota never intended to sell it. While it has that really cool leaning feature, one thing I questioned was how the suspension works in tandem with that, the answer, it doesn't have any. Japan has fairly decent roads, but seating that thing drive over speed bumps looked rough the few times I looked into it. The nimbus looks to be the same as the wheels barely fit in the fenders at full lean, there's just no room for suspension. That means while having AC and heating is more comfortable than a motorcycle, the ride will be far more rough.
Probably you can just remove the speed limit in a cheaper version. Usually it is easy to do on Chinese electric scooters. Simply carry a charged pair of extra batteries to compensate for the range reduction and those extra batteries should not cost extra 3k, may be 1k or so
I want this badly!!! .. for city driving mostly, but probably about 10% of driving on county roads where the speed limit is 50 mph. Everyone goes slightly above the limit .. so I'm HOPING that the Nimbus-One actually tops out at about 55 mph in real life! (please!)
Yep, a hybrid Aptera would be a nice thing to see. EVs are great, but hybrids are kind of the best of both worlds. Sure, they're not as fast, but they're kind of self-sufficient in a power outage crisis. I'll just stick to my mantra of petrol, hybrid, and EV. You have all your bases covered. BTW, I concur on the EV prices jumping up. This would be a Taiwan vs. China thing. It isn't a pretty situation. I'm not going into geopolitics , so I'll just stop here. However, that's why the chips are so pricey.
@@Raees-Divitiae For a vehicle as efficient as an Aptera which will have a range of 400 miles, adding a gasoline engine would just be adding complexity and reducing reliability for essentially no added benefit. Why would you want a Rube Goldberg machine?
There is no way you can be serious about a hybrid aptera. That is such a stupid idea. You can plug in to any outlet after driving virtually all day and charge up just fine. Did you ever do the math on even the 400mile aptera? Starting with a full charge you can go 1/4 of the way across the country without stopping, assuming you could last that long without pissing your pants. Then with quick charging the aptera can charge at 500miles/hr rates meaning 30minutes of charging gives you easily 4 more hours of driving or generally the time between meals which 1/2 an hour is more than enough time. Clearing 1000miles a day isn't even an issue if you can handle driving literally all day.
Interesting. Even though these 3 wheel EV vehicles are not for me and family situations, all are very unique and are more suited to get around easily for some short daily errands. They are better than motorcycles/motorbikes because of the protective body if it rains and it has 3 tires instead of 2. But Nimbus has not much protection should we get in an accident with these. Only thing I am wondering right now is what is the storage capacity - what can I carry with me??? I like the replaceable batteries - charge one while using one if the batteries are not too expensive- maybe have two batteries. i just do around town anyway being retired, so 93 mile range would be adequate for my needs. 50 mph speed is also adequate for my needs. I don't need a 150 mph Tesla for around town. Questions are: How stable is the Nimbus when turning - could it tip over easily???? Again - storage capabilities??? What are the dimensions of the Nimbus??? Thanks for the video.
We designed the Nimbus One to work well in the rain, light snow, and road surfaces with reduced traction as long as the vehicle is driven carefully and turns are not taken aggressively. Length, width, and height: 2.3m x 0.86m x 1.59m.
I still want one like this but they told us fans with $100 deposits that they could not arrange enough funding and investors for now. On hold. What a shame - We urgently need right sized personal transportation.
hah! Seriously,.. oh hey, ima order a few tacos.. $50 and 90 min later, nothing left but an upset stomach and a puddle of sadness and shame following you around like a sleepy puppy.
I wonder how possible it would be to have a removable battery pack that you could use to extend the battery in the One S ? then you could maybe have the best of both.🤔
I am 100% renting one for at least 1 month if it's just $200. I love unique "look at me" vehicles I still really want a twin-z (forget how it's spelled) The Oakley version would be amazing drop a 30kw motor in there with a controller from electron co even toss in a new 110v battery 🔋 that thing would easily top in the 90s and burn rubber easy. I do have 2 trikes a fully loaded 1100 goldwing trike complete with heat and air vents and a baby trike that started its life as a 49cc scooter trike made bye "icebear" (they make a few awesome scooter trikes.) I fully re-did everything even the plastics they are all reinforced some reshaped and tossed in a bored out Italian racing motor 150cc CVT that's around 200cc now with a mini turbo only a little boost but it sounds amazing and is way way way more fun than my 1100 trike 😊 #trikelife
If they made the leaning optional features it would help people that get nauseous when driving, sadly if its default, I don't see any point on using it rather than use full on motorcycle.
Wind & rain protection, don't have to wear a helmet & other gear, can probably carry more stuff, heat & AC. You basically get the benefits of a bike and a car in one.
Anyone hear more from the company? I'd like to know about its battery. I guess that it's a 48V operation. I saw a Renogy charge controller that allows 12-volt solar panels to charge 48 volt batteries. I could slap on a thin flexible solar panel on the roof and charge the unit during the day. I don't need much battery capacity.
"Deliveries beginning in third quarter 2023" Does this mean that Nimbus has completed and passed all of the NHTSA tests and specs? I say this because I cannot even count the start-ups that gave a production date without addressing this FULLY. It has caused multi-year delays in every case. You better have a master engineer of auto safety. They are few and expensive. Arcimoto has ONE. Cost them a small fortune. He was brought on three years late, AFTER appx 50 recalls. They scrapped a lot of vehicles.
Arcimoto is dying. Barely escaped bankruptcy months ago. Losing money by the tens of millions every year. Its stock peaked at over $600 in 2021. Today, it's at $1. It's a goner.
In an EV, your range on the highway will always be less than in the city due to wind resistance. Plus you get regen braking in most EV's which helps boost the battery a bit in city driving.
The fast one has a J1772 port so you can charge it with a Tesla Wall Connector or standard L2 charger, or of course trickle charging with a provided EVSE.
@@miracoli16 I'd love to believe that but my wifes not large (130lbs at 5'7") but that back seat looks very restrictive. Can you imaging a car with no back windows and riding back there? I'd love to love this thing but serious quetions and no reviews in probably a year and those were very limited. Need some with real users telling about the usability of that back seat. Everyone has heard about the 'tilting'... neat but has to be usable.
The fact that Aptera is solar-charged & has a roof & has space for a passenger, plus enough space for grocery-shopping - it's clearly a better choice for me.
@@GearboxPizza - Absolutely. The price is indeed great & if you live in a large city, but need to make a quick trip, or even a daily commute to & from work, I can see the Nimbus being an option as a 2nd or 3rd vehicle - just not the main mode of transportation for most people. Only a smaller, very specific demographic. The Aptera seems like a better investment.
Arcimoto, which I have owned for 16 months, is a different class of vehicle like the Aptera which is not being sold yet. Nimbus is an in-town urban vehicle for one plus many bags of groceries, and there is a rear luggage rack that can hold a cargo box or cooler. I'm interested to have the AC for the long humid tropical rains summers in Florida but my Arcimoto is a much more capable and safer vehicle that costs over twice as much as the Nimbus after adding delivery. Nimbus delivers free, my Arcimoto cost $2,600 to deliver to my door.
Do You Need A License To Drvie A Arcimoto Electric Scooter ? Right Now I Am Looking 4 A Three-Wheel Electric Scooter That Doesn't Need A Driver License My Friends ?
I hoped to learn something new about the Nimbus but I was presented with the same stock video and a lot of speculation, dumb sound track and that stupid distracting cartoon. I have owned the Arcimoto as my only vehicle for 16 months now, looking at Nimbus as a way to get AC for the hot humid tropical rains Florida summer.
Thank you but I remain unconvinced. I can get a modern scooter which will take me anywhere I need to go, including on the highway, for example Yamaha Xmax, for about $6k and I'll get 75 mpg and it'll be running in 10 years. In the meantime the electric auto world will be me morphed out of sight and you might be lucky to come across one of these in a museum.
There is no basis for saying that. It is over 500 pounds and has a wider stance than a MC with a kick stand. Just because a hurricane could knock it over is not a reason to say what you said.

that looks like a boxy "carver" . Fun though, and I like the swappable batteries of the standard version, to bad about the top speed.
One has to think when buying an EV.
1. How far can it go per charge?
2. How fast is this EV? Hopefully, not too fast.
3. How fast can you charge the battery?
4. How safe is this EV?
5. Stability when driving
6. Number of passengers
7. Air conditioning, as it is a necessity in tropical countries like Malaysia.
8. Can it climb a road with a gradient of 25°?
9. In my country (Malaysia), the cheapest gasoline fuel 4 seater car is MYR22,500.
Today's currency exchange USD1 = MYR4.66
Your price of Nimbus One EV USD10,000 = MYR46,600
More than double the price of our Perodua Axia price MYR22,500.
I believe the manufacturer can reduce the price if it is in mass production.
If they don't do it now, they will lose out to China if the latter does it in mass production of the EV China version.
We need an update on this please!!! Pre-orders are closed. Have any been delivered? I want three of them!
Dropped a reservation on Nimbus 1, last year....looking forward to them coming to market.
Great to have you on our pre-order list! Our current best estimate for delivering the first vehicles to customers will be sometime in 2024.
position of the Windscreen wiper is awsome....
🙌
The hot swappable batteries is crazy
Just like my Ego mower and snowblower. It's handy.
It's like a Piaggio MP3 and a BMW C1 had a baby.
Simply carry a charged pair of extra batteries to compensate for the range reduction and those extra batteries should not cost extra 3k, may be 1k or so
Da li ovaj genijalan dvosed ima rekuperativno kočenje, koje se može uključiti po želji..!?
That wiper...
I want this badly!!! .. for city driving mostly, but probably about 10% of driving on county roads where the speed limit is 50 mph.
Everyone goes slightly above the limit .. so I'm HOPING that the Nimbus-One actually tops out at about 55 mph in real life! (please!)
ONE THING I WOULD PICK IS HYBRID APTERA.... BUT SOME ELECTRIC CAR IS A OVERPRICE..
Aptera is the last car that would benefit from being a hybrid - how often do you need more than 1000 miles of range ?
Questions are:
How stable is the Nimbus when turning - could it tip over easily????
Again - storage capabilities???
What are the dimensions of the Nimbus???
Thanks for the video.
We designed the Nimbus One to work well in the rain, light snow, and road surfaces with reduced traction as long as the vehicle is driven carefully and turns are not taken aggressively. Length, width, and height: 2.3m x 0.86m x 1.59m.
@@nimbusev3942why don't you tell us the price of replaceable batteries..!?
@@zorandjokic3635 we appreciate your interest! The pricing for components is not available yet but will be posted as we get closer to the launch.
If they make it available to purchase in my country (UK) at a reasonable price i'm in.
🙌
Does this ingenious two-seater have recuperative braking, which can be switched on at will..!?
The Nimbus has regenerative braking. More technical data will be provided as we get closer to the launch.
I still want one like this but they told us fans with $100 deposits that they could not arrange enough funding and investors for now. On hold.
What a shame - We urgently need right sized personal transportation.

Sure would like to hear more about the production and availability especially on the Nimbus 2
Nimbus 2? Two people? Haven't seen anything on that......
@@sfields6903Nimbus one is for two people.
I wonder how possible it would be to have a removable battery pack that you could use to extend the battery in the One S ? then you could maybe have the best of both.🤔
On my 35mph streets it only needs to do 50mph to keep up with traffic.
On my 35 mph streets, you'd need to do 70-80. One of several reasons we lead the nation in pedestrian fatalities.
I do have 2 trikes a fully loaded 1100 goldwing trike complete with heat and air vents and a baby trike that started its life as a 49cc scooter trike made bye "icebear" (they make a few awesome scooter trikes.) I fully re-did everything even the plastics they are all reinforced some reshaped and tossed in a bored out Italian racing motor 150cc CVT that's around 200cc now with a mini turbo only a little boost but it sounds amazing and is way way way more fun than my 1100 trike 😊
#trikelife
🙌
If it can split lanes? Sign me up!
Did you actually see one? Does it have room for a second person? I’m concerned about what I’ve seen on video of the ‘passenger area’….
if they could make the faster one swappable batteries I'd be in. Take 5 batteries with you and be cool.
Missed opportunity not to name it the Nimbus Mister.
"Deliveries beginning in third quarter 2023" Does this mean that Nimbus has completed and passed all of the NHTSA tests and specs? I say this because I cannot even count
the start-ups that gave a production date without addressing this FULLY. It has caused multi-year delays in every case. You better have a master engineer of auto safety. They are
few and expensive. Arcimoto has ONE. Cost them a small fortune. He was brought on three years late, AFTER appx 50 recalls. They scrapped a lot of vehicles.
330kg is kind of heavy. My son's tandem tadpole electric trike is about 45kg, and it's nearly 2 feet longer.
Ya different class of vehicle. I know its gas but my Spyder is nearly 1000 pounds and that weight makes it super stable. my 2Cents
Still hoping to see it released Soon™
It’s a scooter with a body.its great in the rain. It’s for inner city driving.
You should cover Arcimoto!
Arcimoto is dying. Barely escaped bankruptcy months ago. Losing money by the tens of millions every year. Its stock peaked at over $600 in 2021. Today, it's at $1. It's a goner.
I'd jump on a nimbus if they were highway capable and their highway range matched their current city range.
In an EV, your range on the highway will always be less than in the city due to wind resistance. Plus you get regen braking in most EV's which helps boost the battery a bit in city driving.
Maintenance? Where do I take it if I get in one morning and find it bricked?
Deliveries of the Nimbus vehicles will be city-by-city, and we will have a service center in each city where we make deliveries.
I was just given a Nimbus, toothbrush.
When will they come here?
Our current best estimate for delivering the first vehicles to customers will be sometime in 2024.
Wait so does it have to swap batteries instead of having a charge port? Not for everyone.
Really? I honestly would take swapping over port charging, but would like both.
The fast one has a J1772 port so you can charge it with a Tesla Wall Connector or standard L2 charger, or of course trickle charging with a provided EVSE.
I just hope they get permission from Mr. Nimbus. He controls the police afterall
Gimme, gimme one!
I take it the Nimbus 1 means only a single seat... 1 person... right?
Nope, 2 seater. Says so in the video.

The fact that Aptera is solar-charged & has a roof & has space for a passenger, plus enough space for grocery-shopping - it's clearly a better choice for me.
Yup, hard to argue with that.. it's a much better complete package, totally agree.. This thing though, not bad for like $10k right?
Aptera is my first choice but I have nowhere to charge it in an apt and it costs much more than nimbus. I’ve preordered nimbus one. Easy decision.
Again, totally agree Dallas.
Nimbus delivers free, my Arcimoto cost $2,600 to deliver to my door.
how does it compare to the twizy?
Faster than the Twizzy (50 mph vs 28) and a longer range (93 miles vs 50).
How about AC or Heat?
Heating is standard, and A/C is optional for both the Nimbus One and One S.
Why couldn't you take it on the 405? Most traffic on the 405 for 90 percent of the full stretch of it, only makes it up to 30mph😂😂😂
So its a FUV but didn't go bankrupt?

Thank you but I remain unconvinced. I can get a modern scooter which will take me anywhere I need to go, including on the highway, for example Yamaha Xmax, for about $6k and I'll get 75 mpg and it'll be running in 10 years. In the meantime the electric auto world will be me morphed out of sight and you might be lucky to come across one of these in a museum.
Looks like the Nimbus would blow over in a strong breeze......
There is no basis for saying that. It is over 500 pounds and has a wider stance than a MC with a kick stand. Just because a hurricane could knock it over is not a reason to say what you said.
You mean like motorcycles which don't blow over even on a kickstand?
oh wow, so these guys either licensed arcimotos patents, or, are buying arcomoto ? Hate to see them go the way of the dodo or the SOLO from electramechanica, as arcimoto has usa patents on the batteries being in the three wheeler and the tilting of the vehicle lmfao, another waste of time because people dont check IP before building a prototype. EM was ok, in canada, then they moved to the usa jan 1, now, the solo is being bought back and is gone lmfao. go nimbus one :)
Some feedback for you: I was happy to begin watching this video but the flaming helmeted skeleton logo is just too intrusive and large and not really necessary. Tilting wheeled vehicle
Patent number: 11407466
Abstract: A tilting, preferably three-wheeled, vehicle is disclosed that has a tilting mechanism and a universal steering linkage that allows the vehicle to have leaning and steering characteristics substantially similar to those offered by an in-line two-wheeled vehicle, but that does not require complex linkages and/or control systems to operate effectively. A tilting linkage is operably secured to a frame to allow a pair of spaced apart wheels to remain substantially aligned with the plane of the vehicle throughout its range of movement while still providing an increasing camber between the wheels as tiling of the vehicle increases. A tilting lock system may be provide to limit tilting of the vehicle upon predetermined criteria.
