1996 Mitsubishi Pajero Junior Review in Colorado high-altitude off-road test! Is the Pajero JR better than the Pajero Mini turbo Kei car at altitude?
Purchased a 1996 Pajero Jr from a USS Yokohama auction and am taking it for its first 4wd test in Colorado. Took it up TFL Car’s Truth or Dare off road course above Gold Hill near Boulder, Colorado. Had a1995 Pajero Mini turbo kei car that I sold to make space for this one. Was worried that the JR would not do so well at altitude, but it performed fantastically and turned out to be a much better and more substantial car than the Mini.

My 2003 mr-s sits at 4k rpm doing 60mph. Pretty close to the jr! They weigh about the same too!

I’ve fallen in love with these and have convinced myself that I need one, is there much difference in practicality and reliability between this and the mini?

these are way more practical due to the near double in engine size and the airbags

Hi Scott! You do! I loved it! But I want to get the Flying pug version. (it is sooooo ugly). These cars do great in snow, 4 weeling, as well as a daily. I didn't expect to like it more than the Mini but the JR is a better car for USA roads.
