- UPDEATE: Hi loves, I am writing this a little less than a year later and I wanted to update you. I have been getting a lot of comments saying people have not been having luck with the Dark Star glue. There must be a bad batch or something going on. I haven't had this issue personally but I wanted you guys to be aware. As of a few months back I started using the House of Lashes glues and really love and recommend them. They keep the lashes on super well and it's my go to for strip lashes. However since its so heavy duty it is a bit difficult to get it off completely. Since using HOL I have been using the Dark star glue only for individual lashes on both myself and on my clients. Wish you guys all the best and good luck! Lots of love, Marla

Totally agree about DUO. My lashes come off during the day when I use DUO glue and the dark tone glue is definitely a grey color when it dries. Super sticky when it comes to taking the glue off of the band, and they irritate my eyes. All reasons why I now use Dolly Wink or Revlon lash glues :)

I had the same problem with the duo glue I could never ever get lashes on with that glue I bought kiss lash adhesive and BAM was able to put lashes on like I have been putting them on for years!
I tried the star lash glue omg I love it!!! Best eyelash glue lasts all day it's always been hard for me to find a glue that will keep the ends of the eyelashes down all day and this is by far the best!!! Thank you so much for sharing!! :)

Love this tutorial. You explain in detail,step by step best choice for glue, and technics to apply. I always have trouble with the lashes not sticking, and moving when I apply. Your right that duo glue sucks. I will look for the Star Glue today!!!💛💛💛 Thanks again!!!
I love DUO glue. I find the clear glues hard to use. The consistency appears to be watery. It is interesting see how others are having challenges with the glue. This post is a good read.

I use the Ardell lash glue and it works fine. I have no problems with it. It stays fine and it dries in 1 minute.

I had no idea you're supposed to use lashes more than once, because when I tried it the left over DUO glue on my pair was making the lashes fall off and I just thought it wasn't possible. On another note, I HATE DUO. When I first bought lashes I was told it was a really great brand so I didn't give it a second thought, but the first time I used it my lashes were falling off literally every 10 minutes and I kept having to reapply them. It was ridiculous. I have a wedding in a few days and I need to get a new glue ASAP.
Before reusing your lashes you're supposed to remove all the old glue. You can use tweezers or just gently pick them off with your fingers!
Excellent tutorial, very candid! That doggone Duo glue was the reason I wasn't successful with applying my false lashes. I'd like to add that I stumbled upon your videos on RUclips and am grateful; to think I've been applying my makeup incorrectly all these years!

Smells like fish
Dark color is gray.
Rips off my lashes.
Takes forever to get tacky.
But yeah it smelled like fish to me it was one of those last options at the store only glue left, but never buying again. 😩

I noticed some eyelash glue have that smell 😭 i found my old Star Lash Glue and it smelt like fish. there was another one that looks just like hair bonding glue, but it’s for lashes, and it smells like fish.
I know this is an old vid, BUT This is the best video I have watched on fake lash advice, I was waiting for you to mention the DUO glue as non recommendation, I have had the same experience with the DUO glue and accepted the fact that I really just can't put on lashes. so fed up of booking appointments to get lashes put on and wish I could just do them at home, you have inspired me to try again and I will try your recommended glues and see how I get on. Yes! I am a beginner at lashes! I bought that dumb DUO glue and I tried applying the lashes several times. It takes long to dry and doesn't dry even. I had glue stuck on my real lashes and it was difficult to remove. Also it wasn't very adhesive, so by the end of the night, the lash started lifting T___T also the glue is a bit clumpy when it dries.
I had given up with falsies :( but hearing that is most likely the glue's fault, I am going to try again!
Finally a video I can relate too!!!!!!! Love it and thank you, now I know what glue to buy. I bought duo, it sucks and the adhesive it ripped my eye lashes . I'll try the star glue and hopefully it'll work. I'll come back and tell y'all the results. :)

The Kiss lash glue that's in a bottle is very good. It gets tacky quick. And when u apply it, it sticks instantly. Lasts through out the day and is water proof. I love em.

I wear the same lashes you use! I love the them. They are so comfortable! and for a natural look, just wear one pair with a bit of mascara, a good brow some lip balm and your eyes will pop!

Thank you so much for the tip on DUO glue. I bought my first pair today, and it came without adhesive. As a first-timer, I thought they came with adhesive. When I opened the package and saw they didn't, I hit youtube. Everyone's videos recommended DUO, but because of your video, instead of buying DUO tomorrow, I'll buy the KISS Lash Adhesive with Aloe from Walgreen's, (Along with having to wait for the glue to dry, I don't want to wait 5-7 days to get a Star glue shipment from Ebay/Amazon. I may try them later, but I want to try my lashes out ASAP.) I'll post back when I've tried that glue as a complete newbie.

I agree about the Duo lash glue! At first, i thought it was just me not knowing how to apply them, but I realized that it sucks. It also has ruined my fake lashes because it doesn't come off easily. But I will try the other glues that you recommended. Thank you ❤

I tried DUO as well, and even the Eylure Glue that comes with the lashes in a box. Both crap, DUO I was annoyed about because it was not cheap! I binned it haha. Got some Revlon Lash Glue now, waiting for delivery. I hope it works better! Oh by the way you are very pretty, your face is SO symmetrical! Your make up is so posh glam I love it.
I am a wedding makeup artist and completely agree about Duo, no matter how much I put on the ends pop off. It's embarrassing! I've ordered Star glue, thank you.

I feel the same exact way about the Duo lash glue! I got it as a birthday gift and i'm a beginner and also wondered why the heck they never worked or stuck to my eyelid! Now I understand why! So i got the Kiss strip lash adhesive with aloe and only using it once i love it! Also i cut the lashes in half and it also made it alot easier to put on! I will be throwing the duo glue out! Love the kiss one so much!

I LOVE Duo...but it takes a particular technique. I set it out on the lash case or on a glass petri while I'm doing like, my liner and brows to give it a few seconds to a minute or two to tac up. Then I use something like a toothpick or whatever to pick it up and apply it the lash. I've never had a problem with it peeling up or failing throughout the night and it sticks to the skin just fine (and i have really oily skin, especially in the summer). The dark dries to a jet black, but starts out grey, which I like because it's a good indicator of WHEN it's dry.
On myself, I exhale on the lash band while the glue is on there too. Not BLOW, but like...a hot, slow breath (giggity). The heat and moisture work together to set the glue but also keep it a little malleable while applying. I have clients exhale on their own lashes so I'm not giving them my germs. They can keep their own germs.

Yes, I found the Duo to last for a day, but where do you get a glue that will last for a month like the eyelash extension professionals use...

I have used the Star glue for the past 3 to 4 yrs and loved it. The store where I got it from dont sell them anymore :( . You are the first one I hear mentioning Star glue

I live in california and sometimes can be very hot so, i noticed that when its hot the star glue doesn't work well so, i put it in the fridge and works super good!!!!! I don't think there is a bad batch

I bought the star glue and I thought wow this doesn't work and I thought because it was cheap that maybe that was the reason but I had barely started wearing eyelashes so I didn't know what I was doing. I currently use the duo one but I'm going to give the star one another chance.

I have extremely watery eyes and have never been able to successfully wear false lashes due to the glue not holding them onto my lid. Is there a glue that you think might work for me?
Cindy You probably just can't wear false lashes because I can't see any glue holding onto extremely watery eyes. Just get a really good waterproof mascara.

Cindy Munga you have to let the glue get tacky (wait like 20 seconds) and then apply the lashes...if you have watery eyes and apply lashes with the fresh glue you will feel your lashes move because your eye is watery and because the glue is still wet which moves your false lashes....hope this helps. 🙂
Cindy M get the house of lashes glue, I have the same problem with watery eyes and that is the only glue that holds them on all day! Just make sure you let it get tacky first and hold for a few seconds

I am actually in my early 40ies and I have not successfully ever wore lashes up to this point. I wanted to try one more time this morning and thanks to my teenagers watching youtube all the time I thought hey go see if u can find a video how to do this right. My sister was resting her elbow on her vanity while curling hers. Her elbow slipped and she pulled out all her lashes on one eye! She was in high school at the time, so was preparing to go to school! So, I learned never to rest my elbow on anything when curling.

Best lash glue ever: House of Lashes. Once I discovered it, I never went back to DUO or any other lash adhesive.
Just found your channel. Great video. You're not the only who loves Star glue. I'm going to try it. Maybe the bad batches were in the triple packs & had more to do with being too old and the product settling. What eye shadows are you wearing here? So pretty! TIA 😉
I personally love the DUO dark tone glue and I've tried the star, revlon,kiss,ardell and kara lash glues and they don't work for me. I can literally sleep with my lashes on and they look the same way the next morning when I use DUO. The lashes do take about 45 seconds to get tacky but it's not a problem cuz that gives me some time to curl my lashes and put mascara on...
Can you do a video where you show us how you wash your lashes when using this glue please! I use this glue and my lash always ripps ): maybe because I'm doing it wrong but please show us
