I love my FZ09. But I understand the want/need for a dual sport. If it’s paid for I say keep it. The bike is exactly the way you want it. Lol that’s coming from a FZ09 freak. I have to say one more thing. I have not felt another bike in it’s class with the same pull 0~60. The FZ09 $ vs fun factor is a lot like a Groms $ vs fun factor. Hard to beat!!

Every time I think of getting rid of my FZ6, I realize how perfect it is for what I do and just cant pull the trigger. I'm saving for a dual sport but will keep the FZ as long as she keeps chugging along.
Pistnrod I can see why you would want a duel purpose bike having a FZ09. I bet you would be on the duel purpose a lot more. It's a go anywhere bike. I came from a Harley Davidson super glide to a DRZ 400s and really it was the best move I ever did ! What a blast these bike are . Street riding is over for me these days. I was looking at a FZ09 but I was not totally not sure of it . But I'm more happy with the DRZ it's so different then street riding and more fun if you asked me. Yeah it's a lot more slower but the fun factor is higher then my Harley Davidson ever was. Yeah I miss my wife being with me on the longer rides but the DRZ is more internment to me, my opinion only. And really it's more exciting to me as well ! I can't ride the DRZ as well it's like learning to ride all over again and what a work out as well. If you watch me riding it you would think I never rode before, lol. Trying to shift while standing up is still challenging to me still since it's a whole different riding style. But taken it back to the street the today's car drivers suck and don't care for us motorcycles riders ( action is louder then words ) so it would illegal to remove them lol. But know I can remove myself. And it's such a work out for me as well. I bought it from a friend of mine that lost over 30 pounds just riding the dame thing, and I knowl why. I'm working muscles that I never knew that existed . I'm good on the street but once I transfer to dirt the whole experience changes, it's like learning to ride all over again and the duel purpose can do such more then that FZ09 can ever do ! Yeah its slower but the fun factor is much higher. I enjoyed your FZ09 videos wasn't big on the asphalt licker like the R1, yeah you can go fast but besides that what can it do ? Nothing for me but kill me and be totally uncomfortable. Ok 20 min of fun but as fast as I would jump on it it would be as fast I would want to be off it as well. Speed does not impress me. I lost so many brothers on bikes. I had enough funerals in my life as well. Now the views I get today makes up for the speed . And what the DRZ is really capable just blows the competition away from any street bike can offer me, my opinion of course. But ok bring that FZ09 or R1 through a river or over rocks and mud, tree's . Lol go ahead ! Make a video of that on those bikes. And my duel purpose bike can go anywhere those 2 bikes can go, ok a bit slower. But the fun factor is still above those 2 machines. 20 to 50 mph on dirt paths and roads and going through rivers is more fun to me then going 150 mph on the R1 or trying to keep that front tire down on the FZ09. And still only to be able to end going to the same places and dealing with those cagers. I will give up the performance of the FZ09 or the R1 for the versatility of the the duel purpose bikes. And if I drop my DRZ no problems it's made for it unlike those 2 other bikes. Go ahead drop that R1, KA- CHANG $$$$$$$$ ! pretty sure that FZ09 samething. Dame I'm showing my age. Lol. I don't think I'm ever going back to street riding again it bores me these dayzzz. Well what ever you decide Pistnrod. But it would be fun to watch you doing videos on the WR 250r. The true go anywhere bike unless you ride it off a cliff. Lol lol

@@PistNRods I put Scorpion SRT Pirelli Tires on my FZ 09 (Original set on 700 Ténéré), cause I ride 35+% of the time on gravel roads. Sure my FZ is not a dual-sport bike, with long travel suspension. However, these kind of tires give me more traction, stability and confidence to hit the dirt roads, and it transformed my FZ in a more versatile bike. Just a thought. Cheers!
Gotta change it up I went from a Harley rocker to a VFR800 it’s like you said every bike is fun drive as many as you can!

one thing that makes cars more fun, a manual gearbox. sure my accord is shit compared to my fz1 for thrills, but the 6 speed on top of the 6 pack helps...
I know how you felt. I love and hate my FZ09. I add alot of mods to the point that I realized that what I am doing is making it into a comfortable supersport which can never be both. Sold my FZ09 and got myself a CBR600RR instead. I was sad to get rid of my FZ but happy to get the CBR.

im looking to go the same route currently got an fz09 but looking to get to back into a 600 just like the inline 4 powerband, fz09 is a great bike but i find the unlinear powerband more exciting
I feel like if you like the FZ, you should keep it since you put a lot of work into it, but that’s just my opinion. Also, even though i’ve only just discovered your channel, i love it. I came here from MotoMadness. Best decision ever made lol
