This video is helpful and I use the threaded rod that you recommended. Getting the original bolt back through was pretty difficult, I didn’t have much luck wiggling and lifting the back tire. I ended up lowering the jack a little bit, and that seem to align the swing arm for the bolt to go back through.

Of course it's easy... as long as you skip over little things like brake switches. The fact that you skip that and say you don't really need it is the decider for NOT following your advise or product reviews. Ridiculous.
