"more riffs for your song, not more riffs in your song" is the eternal DAW writer plague 😂 I find it so hard not to get attached to every riff and decide which ones to cut down or out. But you're right, it ends up with tighter arrangements in the end!
Utterly bodacious riffs, love it. As a very new producer, I'd love any kind of logic tutorials. It can be really overwhelming at first and you really seem to have your workflow down to a science
2:43 That's actually some really good advice. I usually write my songs chronologically and it gets kind of annoying sometimes, maybe I should try your method!
my toxic trait is to think i could learn how to play that riff lmao. Thats the nastiest thing i've heard in a long time and i'm 100% here for it. Keep em coming dude! ❤
Hey Nick, I love your riff videos, I learn so much from you! Could you make a tutorial about your recording workflow with takes, punch in, etc.? Your editing tutorial already helped me a ton!
I used to play with JP Jazz III but I ordered some Sithu Aye tabs from Sheet Happens and I love the Tortex picks ( not sure if Tortex). Been using them since maybe 2+ years.
Yeah I might buy a pack to try em out. Would be nice to be able to pick up a pack of my picks at guitar center instead of having to order the JPs online haha
Mix in a little bit of your mic track behind the guitar tracks, the acoustic sound of the string noise adds nice articulation to the riffs that's missing when you just play back the DI.
STANK FACE!!! So good! 🔥 You should include a "Wii-Ball" on the new merch from the "sounds like Doomsday" episode! I've re-watch that intro so many times and it's funny every time, haha! f* it wii-ball!
Hey Nick. I can’t figure out how to program slides on Nolly Bass. Do you or anyone here know how, or know of a video showing how to do it? If you’d be so kind.
I like how you skipped the manual transmission thing. I'm French so, I've never even driven an automatic. Love Adidas, don't drink Cola, never even played an Xbox, and love BK 😎
@@nickbroomhallmusic I thought so, I just got a Roland VAD507 to replace my Alesis strike pro and I was looking into buying Logic Pro but I haven’t used that DAW but I love what you do and I think your videos have helped make up my mind on getting Logic Pro.
I literally can’t get enough. I just started playing again after a few years off due to injury and lack of time due to my job. Your stuff is so inspiring. I need to know what strings and gauges you use. I just got my first fanned fret and I want to tune to drop f#. Please senpai.
I get the convenience of the programmed bass but you gotta start recording your own bass. You do the guitar and play an electronic kit instead of just straight midi programming. Bass is all that's left for you to get the one man band title.
Make your riffs feel more like a song by writing melodies and not riffs. Listen to some Chick Corea and Trey Anastasio. They might not be the style you're trying to write but they're gonna be really instructive as far as "music that tells a story". Think of it like a sentence. You don't just string words together. You write a sentence!
0:43 Finn has just become a troll who makes all his money making the basically the same video about nu metal over and over, by his own admission, and even had one sponsored by Temu and many by a gambling company… just goes to show what his values really are. People can like whatever they want. Shitty fast food will always be shitty no matter the company, soda will always be too sweet and not good for you no matter who makes it and video game consoles are all just PCs now anyway. Except the Switch which a lovable Super sized handheld
Five minutes in, maybe the worst guitar tone I’ve ever heard, and you’re playing is totally mechanical, I hear no feel…….. however, it certainly could be that it’s just not my bag, not my style, best of luck

It is Thursday and the riffs are thick, life is good
Amen!
indeed it is thursday again brudda
I hope you keep working full song idea on the next episode!! 🔥🔥
Second that!
Was literally just thinking this morning "What was the name of that dudes channel who made great beginner woodworking projects". And here you are.
This is the two channel collaboration, that I didn’t know I needed in my life.
Mike from Modern Builds gets cooler and cooler every time I see him online
“Sport Mode” I felt that so much lmao
I'm really glad I'm not the only person who will track a part 20 times and then think "I'll bet if I just switch legs it'll fix it"
✨ sport mode ✨
Utterly bodacious riffs, love it. As a very new producer, I'd love any kind of logic tutorials. It can be really overwhelming at first and you really seem to have your workflow down to a science
The creativity is unparalleled man! I get dizzy following how fast you work with Logic!! Happy Thursday/Friday!
4:16 Bro Daath is one of my all time favs, that's so sick.
The riffs are just crazy good! Love that you shared the hardship of tracking parts over and over to get it spot on, it's a labour of love! haha!
Every riff from you sounds very good and nice. It doesn’t matter how long do you need to do it. You re doing it perfect
‘We’re goin in sport mode’ 😂😂 bro i love your videos and influence on me so much ❤
2:43 That's actually some really good advice. I usually write my songs chronologically and it gets kind of annoying sometimes, maybe I should try your method!
Love your stuff man. Very entertaining for someone that wishes that they had more production friends to talk about this kind of stuff with.
Man, I do the same thing when trying to nail a new riff... as frustrating as it is, I love how once I nail it... its locked in forever afterward...
I know I’m not the only looking forward to Thursdays. I can vibe now.
🧡
Shout out to Coach Dave Marvuglio, his band LESSER GLOW is so heavy it's absolutely irresponsible!
Punk rock mba built his channel on being the poster child for second place.
my toxic trait is to think i could learn how to play that riff lmao.
Thats the nastiest thing i've heard in a long time and i'm 100% here for it. Keep em coming dude! ❤
Hahah I’m sure you could! Thanks so much for the kind words 🙏
As a guitarist I feel this pain of retracking so much 😂
Full song videos pleaseeeee
Adding “sport mode” to my list of guitar techniques
Today is my birthday and this is def the best gift
Happy birthday 🥳
yo i need this Nolly preset. sounds incredible
Yea fr
Patience 🙌
@@nickbroomhallmusic bet
Those single pedal double strokes were solid
That riff was riffing hard 🙌
Hahaha had me with that edit at the end 😂🤣🤣🤣
As always lovely riffing!
5:44 wtc dude, you just laid down a sick drum part. Love the cymbal work
Please carry this on next week. So sick
Hey Nick, I love your riff videos, I learn so much from you! Could you make a tutorial about your recording workflow with takes, punch in, etc.? Your editing tutorial already helped me a ton!
Thanks dude! Yeah I could go more in depth about my tracking process!
I used to play with JP Jazz III but I ordered some Sithu Aye tabs from Sheet Happens and I love the Tortex picks ( not sure if Tortex). Been using them since maybe 2+ years.

@@nickbroomhallmusicmy local guitar center has the JPs. I'd double check if yours does. Maybe I just got lucky 🤷♂️
Bro you have some of the most inspiring content I've seen. I love it
Thanks man! Glad you enjoy it!
Glad you love the cable! Love all your videos! Those are the Dunlop tortex flow .88 and the blue are 1.0!
Ayyy thanks so much!! Gotta put an order in for some more of those picks 👀
Glad to see this one becoming a song! The symbol could be a bagel with some schmear
🥯 I like that
I just need a Screenshot of the Cab section of that Nolly "2010s Metalcore" Preset and I'll be good!
bro the Cena float in edit had me on the floor, so unexpected
Hell yeah dude sounds so sick!! 🔥🔥
That moment you wanted to strip the silences… we feel that…
Paused my LOTR audiobook for this.
The fact you were listening to one is based
I’m honored
Gotta get a kracken symbol for the episode on that amp
Golden!
Mix in a little bit of your mic track behind the guitar tracks, the acoustic sound of the string noise adds nice articulation to the riffs that's missing when you just play back the DI.
That's a fun thing to do but very annoying to track
At 8:48, that *shakes head* “hard” part gave me real Owen Wilson vibes.
You should do a kraken on the shirt for the episode you used the kraken amp on. Also hope you keep making videos on this riff. It’s killer!
🐙 love it
There it is, my normal Thursday fix.
STANK FACE!!! So good! 🔥

🎳 oooh good one!
Could you share what your mastering chain includes, and settings for everything?
Awesome work as always Nick! I was wondering what string gauge you have on that guitar for F#?
Thicc nasty Thursday. New symbol is a power stance. Can’t go heavier than 1s and zeroes
Hey Nick. I can’t figure out how to program slides on Nolly Bass. Do you or anyone here know how, or know of a video showing how to do it? If you’d be so kind.
got the mastering chain breakdown anywhere?
Ourobowlos, the endless noodle
What keyboard shortcut was that at 8:14
Great riffage
Thanks!
Ok so how about dong a slide on the bass in stead of the vibrato? Just something I thought about while watching this video.
Man, i fcking love u, im from brazil, loce your content
Obrigado man!
I like how you skipped the manual transmission thing. I'm French so, I've never even driven an automatic. Love Adidas, don't drink Cola, never even played an Xbox, and love BK 😎
Yeah I don't drive a manual 💀
No shame about that really. I'd rather have an automatic when I have to get out of a very steep underground parking lot and have cars in front of me 🥶
nick you should definitely try making a hardcore song
you beast
Sounds like P1 remastered
what happened to hedwigs theme? I started watching you because of that video and im hoping we get another soon
what plugin do you use for drums? they are always so tasty
Thanks! I'm using GGD PV!
More like they're the poster children for more effort, independent thought and choosing, rather than marketing-led and trend hopping 😋
Morrreee!!!!
Your strings sounds nice and bright. Do you changes strings before each TRT? Also, what drum sound are you using? (GGD?)
I believe he's using GGD PV now. He used to use (and maybe still does) modern and massive.
first glance at that pick was DUNLOP? Classic...
What interface are you using ? Guitars sound great
Thanks! I’m using the UA Apollo Twin!
Vocals when, Nick 🧐
Thats a sexy computer keyboard, what is it?
me still trying to figure out which keyboard you have
Not sure which of the two you’re asking about, but the midi keyboard is an Alesis V49 and the computer keyboard is a Keychron!
@@nickbroomhallmusic thankyouu, i appreciate it :) love the videos btw, real good quality and vibe. keep it up!!
What’s a bass plugin?
It’s a bass sample library
Sport mode
What DAW is this, anybody know?
It’s Logic Pro!

Keychron k4!
Damn
is that keychron keyboard?
Yes!
Season 2 symbol idea: your dogs sad face after you him over with the chair.
