I love Floating Sea Aquatics. It’s like an aquarium that you can buy fish and reptiles at. Love to see more videos on FSA. Do you know they rescue fish and reptiles as well?
Hi! So I need some help. We think our turtle has eggs but we aren’t sure. They’re 8yr old red ear sliders and of different genders. However, the skin of the female is pinkish and we aren’t sure if it’s because the male is being rough or anything. We think she has eggs but eight years of having her and no eggs. But we aren’t sure if it’s because we always put her in the water tank or not.
Guys i need help, i cant get my turtle to eat in a separate container (as most turtle keepers do), he just won’t eat. He will look at the food and then get right back to trying to escape, he won’t eat in there at all. I had a large container and got an even bigger one and that didn’t work. He used to eat in the container as a hatchling but won’t now. He will only eat in the tank which dirties it up very badly And is messing up my live plants. It just makes such a mess. And even in the tank he is barely interested in the food,Im scared, should i take him to the vet? What do i do?
I have a red eared slider and I spent around $80 - $90. and that's the cheaper items I could find that were of decent quality around $26 for a lamp + UVB/UVA bulbs (Uvb bulbs need to be replaced about every six months) around $23 for water conditioner + turtle fix $7 for food $10 for betadine (for shell rot) all of the tank accessories I already had laying around the house and I improvised a basking spot and I plan to get at least a 40 gallon tank because of how big turtles can get. That can easily cost over $100 by itself. There's cheaper options for this, i just prefer to have a tank. So probably expect to budget close to $200
my turtle is in a 15 gallon plastic tub which is a lot cheaper than a tank. But thats a temporary solution and it should have a lot more space as it grows. I forgot to add my turtle is just over an inch and a half right now
@@Noonesnncncnf temporary was the first day in which I don't have to know that but the quality of the water is not the problem until it is. Bigger containers are not expensive and the price is not the point . I have been enjoying the way I set the AQUEON pump I bought for $60 - $80 @ PETCO 3 years ago running full speed knock on wood with 0 issues + the best way to protect the pump is also from PETCO and IMAGITARIUM white mesh filter bag is $5 and I am sure that it will or does save you so much from debris slowing your flow rate , So that pump attachment unscrew it and bring it to your hardware store or maybe you will have to order but if you are ever going to make it a few minutes in simmering water with hand protection 🔥you can get the hose straightened and the filter to beat all of the best in my opinion is the Sterlite drawer filter with the top of the drawers is where I am running the water to . For that you have to buy the right size connections and make sure you secure it with a couple of fasteners to be safe . I use plastic ones in the tub and the metal kind you tighten with the screw that comes with the clamp . So after you have secured it to the top then you sit down and drill th top two drawers with the same exact pattern and the same size drill bit or some of the videos on making a Trickle filter use the heat tool that you are better off not having smoking plastic fumes etc. The last thing that I would say is the mesh bag going to protect the pump if you have the hose attached before placing the pump inside the container meant for cereal or whatever, PET protection box that I have packed around the filter with filter floss , put the pump in the bag so when you are closing it with the drawstrings simply using the hose poking out to tie aroung . The way i set my Sterlite drawer filter was a plastic crate made for carrying 1 gallon milk jugs which is also for sale @ some big box stores in the storage & racking shelf area garage stuff , if have any? I am sure glad to be of help. In my drawers I chose to make the bottom sides and back where I have drilled the holes so that way the area inside the crate has no splash factor and the turtles are very happy with the little shelter that has a couple of X-Large ZOO MED Turtle Dock that I have secured inside the crate using zip ties and I connected the crate to the Sterlite drawer filter with zip ties and I think I will always have it running with Fluval media for the FX was great price @ PETSMART Bio something and every 4 -5 months replace the filter floss that is in the middle drawer and squeeze out the sponges in the top drawer a week later and I think Chemi Pure and Purigen in the bottom with two boxes of the BIO FX media n the bag it came with.

I didn't know that the reptile rules were so strict there! Makes sense though. Florida should have had the same rule 😅
