The fluff in the chorus happened because Gwen accidentally started singing the Second chorus, “On your list with, all your other women” while Olivia was singing “I can’t help it, you’re my kind of man” which is the correct lyric for the first chorus. Happens all the time but people are blaming Olivia for this like she messed up lol

I mean Gwen Stefani has way more experience than Olivia Rodrigo, of course she is going to be better. That’s not the point though, it’s not a competition. You don’t have to compare everyone.
I just think Olivia’s voice doesn’t necessarily match the song. But they did a good job together. Looked like they were having fun! Also, Gwen is the best. So good for Olivia to learn from her.

The key is just too low for her, Gwen Stefani has a much lower range
Olivia’s vocal register definitely sits higher, but her vocal technique is also more softer than Gwen’s. Gwen utilizes her breath to keep her vocals supported, making more of a light belt in her softest moments. Whereas Olivia has a softer dynamic and saves the belting for the climaxes of her songs. She speak sings for beginning verses and choruses.
