I'm also at that point in my collecting that I don't feel I need to get everything. I want to just focus on finishing off collecting series that I've already started.
During covid i had more time and money for manga. Nowadays I've barely been buying things aside from a few pre-orders I was interested in. Knocked off a huge number of OOP wants last summer and haven't gone for any old stuff since. The one thing i need to do is unhaul, but going through hundreds of books, pricing, listing, shipping...man i barely even have time to read! If i manage to sell stuff i'd like to re-read some of my favorites over buying new stuff.
Moderation is just fine, it is best to know where your pace is. We still want you to join reading! And letting go of things means giving opportunities to others.
Good luck with your goals!! I love that people can have such different tastes and get something different out of manga. Personally, Kaiju no 8 is becoming one of my favourite series but I really love manga with a lot of action, it makes up the majority of what I read. I like watching people that read different to me so I can find ones I might not have heard of/pick up so I can branch out!
I've recently found myself feeling relief when a series I'm collecting is *finally* coming to a close and I can knock it off my list of stuff to keep up with and look for. Which is a huge 🚩🚩🚩. Time to reevaluate. Been collecting on and off since early 2000s so I'm approaching 3k in volumes myself. Over that time I've figured out what I like, but I'm chapped that I've still got stuff on my bookshelves that shouldn't be. Great goals for 2024. I plan on divesting myself of some series and volumes and tackling my TBR. Cheers!
I'm facing the same issues with space & having too large of a TBR so I'm trying to go through all mine now too and unhaul xD Will probably get rid of a lot of series that I enjoy but should just read digitally instead of owning
I finished Dokudami Tenement which I was able to grab up on that site you recommended before they sold out of vol 3. Was a fun read and nice to see the occasional older stuff like that released in english.
Glad that they still had them in stock. It's too bad I found out about that site late they had more Black Hook Press releases that I was interested in but already sold out and company is defunct.
So I'm pretty new to manga, I don't have a lot but I have some quality stuff I acquired over the past 12 months. I have the Akira box set, Berserk deluxe 1-14, FotNS deluxe 1-10 and #DRCL vol 1. My goals are to actually give myself time to read them
Only ones of these I've read are the H.P. Lovecraft and Kaiju #8. Kaiju #8 I'm really enjoying. Several are ones I've thought of trying though. I could never read an entire volume in one day. I usually read a few chapters at a time.
I had absolutely no interest in Gap Papa until I saw your review on goodreads lol. Now I kind of want to read the first volume just to see. I might be interested in a few of the volumes you’re unhauling so I’ll message you on Instagram. I hope you have a great reading year in 2024!
LOL. Yeah I felt like I was in bizarro world after reading it and seeing reviews with people wondering where they can find a guy like that. Thank you for watching and you have a great reading year also!

I second that, not there yet but been thinking along the same lines

Thank you so much!! Yeah I'll probably try Kaiju No 8 again once it is completed. I did enjoy the first volume I read.

Happy New Year’s we have the same goals for sure. I definitely need to cut back in my spending and read more of my collection.

Do you have an online shop that you sell the manga?
No just usually on Redditswap or Mercari.
