This game.... this game will FOREVER have a special place in my heart... when I first played this... I was on my old iPad mini, on a plane flight to Teneriefe... I would just sit there... with my headphones in, and let the game take me away to a fantastical paradise... filled with impossible geometry and sacred architecture... the graphics combined with the OST and music... I will never forget this game, and will often come back to it every once in a while, to help put my life into perspective... ❤️❤️! SO GLAD I CAN EXPERIENCE THIS ALL OVER AGAIN WITH YOU GAB!!
i feel the same way you do, played this since i was a little kid, and it has always amazed me, i replay it once a year even though i know everything it is still fun
I used to play it as a kid too! I was so obsessed with it. I used to listen to the soundtrack on the school bus and imagine I was in a fantasy world. I miss that feeling. I still go back and play the whole thing through every couple of years. I really like the second game too! I’d love recommendations for other games with a chill vibe and aesthetic
I remember spending way too many hours late into the evening playing this game way back when. This game has a special place in my heart. So glad you finally played it! These cozy games have been great.
Me too! The coolest game I've ever played. Loved everything about it! Thanks for sharing this. I can't remember if I had to install it as an app like from play store or if I just came across it online.
Gab: "I'm not that great with perspective puzzles." Also Gab: proceeds to solve pentadimensional perspective puzzles in 10 seconds average for two hours straight.
First of all I agree, but also she said near the end of the base game that the base game was about 1 hour long and the dlc also about 1 hour long, which is pretty much what she got so that puts her spot on the average completion time (assuming not much was edited out). So she could still be right in that she's not great at them, but she's not below average either.
@fart4192 I think that most people who say "it's too easy" are _completely_ missing the point. It's not intended to a complicated, brain-mangling puzzle game. It's more of a fidget-toy for the brain. And an impecably presented, wonderfully creative one at that. Most puzzle games would simply switch from one level/state to the next. Here, everything is delightful crafted and animated. Both visually and aurally.
Please play the sequel too, this was so pretty and relaxing! Regarding the story, from the level names and what the ghost told us it seems like we're a princess who stole the sacred geometry from humans in the past, and now seeks forgiveness by returning the geometries to the monuments. And in the end, after returning them all, she's atoned for the theft and gets her crown and real form (the white bird) back. I think that the downfall of the humankind had something to do with the sacred geometry being stolen? One way or another, that was a lot of graves down there in that one level, and the monuments are all that's left behind from that civilization. The princess was turned to a human as a punishment and her crow people suffered her curse too, walking around the monuments colorless and unable to fly, until their princess gets her true form back in the end. That's what I gathered from it at least!
wow! i actually was so sad at the level with crows…. because at one moment there is a reflection of her… a white crow with a crown. i thought they were annoying at first, but that scene…. when she laid down the flower… it made me so emotional. i stopped playing for a while then.
I know my uncle sent us this little of brand tablet when we were little and that was one of the games we played on it I just recently found out you can get it on IPhone
This game reminds me of another game I’ve played before called “Gris” on steam. It’s so pretty and atmospheric with a deeper meaning and is just so enjoyable to play, so I highly recommend it!! 💕✨
Can't wait for your play of the sequel if you're still up for it! It's absolutely visually gorgeous as well as MV1, the characters are different but similar tale nonetheless, the puzzles are just as soothing. I'm sure you'll enjoy it 😁💕
This game was mindblowing and introduced me to Lydian Collective (I think the leader was involved in creating the music.) And Gab’s the most pleasant person - this will be lovely to watch.
I was absolutely obsessed with MC Escher in 9th grade after learning about him in geometry class. He drew all sorts of things using sacred geometry making impossible realities. My parents even bought me a little hardcover book of his drawings and prints for Christmas that year. I spent so much time tracing the lines and imagining myself walking through the drawings.
I LOVE this game! I played it, the dlc, and the sequel when they first came out on ios. For those wondering about the story (of the main game) the bird people attacked the men of monument valley and stole their sacred geometry. This destroyed the civilization (all the graves in chapter 9) and condemned the crow people to being stuck, mindless, wandering the monuments. The princess of the crows was cursed to be a human. So she embarks on a quest to return the stolen relics and redeem her people. So Ida didn’t “become” the leader of the crows, she regained her crown. That’s why you saw a white bird reflected in the mirror in chapter 9. That’s Ida’s true form. And btw, the big dlc takes place between chapters 9 and 10. At the end of the appendices you see the observatory descend from the sky, which is the last chapter of the main game. I think the small dlc is just a dream. So ya, that’s the story as I see it! ☺️ I really love this game!
I remember playing this when I was young and it blew my mind, I give me meaning to the word perspective and it have a sweet spot in my soul, it is great see you play this, it is a nice nostalgia trip for me
Monument Valley is one of my favorite games of all time. It has a very special place in my heart and I love all Monument Valley content, so I'm super excited to watch you play!
Aaa, I just finished your A Short Hike video a few minutes ago to chill after waking up from a night terror. Didn't even realized you'd posted a new one, and now I'm enjoying some good ol' coffee while watching this one to start off the day!
this video is making me cry and i haven't even watched it yet, i am in love with this game, and it reminds me of memories with my grandmother, memories i can't recreate, now she is gone. thank you gab, i am so happy you are playing this game. it still amazes me how it works. play the second one, i cried while playing the second one from memories of my mom singing "you are my sunshine " to me when i woke up. love from new york :3
This was insanely relaxing and helped me work on a stupidly complicated dress for two hours straight. Next thing I knew the video was over and I had completely put the bodice together💫😵
I love this game, I remember watching Seán play it like 6 years ago, I was 16 at the time and couldn’t get it myself, but I always wanted it, I loved watching the puzzles being solved Watching this stream and revisiting Seán’s old videos reminded me of how badly I wanted this game, and now that I’m an adult, I got it for myself ☺️ so exciting, the puzzles are so fun and the world is so gorgeous 🥰
Yes! One of my favourite comfort games to play on my way home! I am glad to see you love this game as well. They have done Monument Valley 2, which has a different story, but I find it equally enjoyable. I hope they release that too so you can enjoy the world even more!
What a trippy game! That second chapter did a good job explaining a simple gimmick; that you're not necessarily moving up and down but rather existing on a singular flat plane. Just because a platform "moved up or down" doesn't mean you can't still cross through. So trippy!
TBB = Totem Best Boy. I loved how she would get so happy to see him and how she kept praising him for being so helpful for Ida. I'm sure that we all kind of liked him and found him cute. I thought it was adorable how he would sometimes turn his head and look around. He's indestructible and always ready to lift us up when we need him. ❤😊
I remember playing this game with my sister on one of the test iPad at Costco while my parents shopped. It was a really fun game to play with my sister. Weird but great memory.
that was an absolute delight🥰 what a creative and smart game! it's impressive how it can be so intuitive and challenging at the same time. plus the aesthetic and sound desight are mwah cheffs kiss. great episode, Gab! thank xxx
Your chill streams have been an absolute godsend over the last couple of weeks. Our nearly 1yr old isn't sleeping well so these are perfect to have on while she potters about until she's tired. Thank you for the lovely chilled streams 😊
i have such fond memories of playing this years ago and it still holds up today as the best mobile game i've ever played. it's lovely to revisit it by seeing it played by someone else as it's like playing the game for the first time again! 10/10 nostalgia trip would recommend
Oubliette, French for 'little place of forgetting.' They often had views of the dining room and prisoners trapped inside would slowly starve while watching other people eat.
This game's art style reminds me a little of Lara Croft GO. It's a fun & clever puzzle game inspired by classic Tomb Raider gameplay. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone if they haven't tried it before!
Im so happy to see someone play this game! It was one of the first games that I fell in love with and to see one of my favorite people playing after years of not seeing it makes me feel really happy. Its very nostalgic for me. I also find it so cool that they released a pc version. I know what im going to be playing soon!
I also love seeing someone elses perspective in this game because i have played it so much to the point of memorizing every level and what to do so its cool to see someone new to it play it :]
I remember when Seán played this. I was really excited but I don't really play mobile games and I also don't think I even had a device that could even properly run this. I'm really excited to see that it's on PC now.
These will always be some of my favorite games. I think I’m definitely going to revisit them on my iPad - though the way they’ve adapted the levels for PC is just gorgeous. Can’t wait to see you play the sequel!
Now I was excited when you went through The Room series. But then I saw this. I remember playing this game years ago and still go back to it and it’s sequel. Love the art style, architecture and soundtrack. I also love how the actions that you make contribute to the music that is already occurring. Everything is just so seamless and peaceful. Not to mention the mysterious and compelling storyline. I actually have a plush of the Totem friend. So glad I got to experience this along with you as well. Can’t wait for you to see the sequel. It takes everything from the first game but does it even better from music, environment, story, to mechanics. So excited here can’t you tell? Haha. Great video!
This brought me back I remember playing this on my phone years ago getting stuck on some of the wind mill levels and assembling the totem level. I would love to see more and yes they do have some Totem merch, not personally sold by the devs but it looks like some independent artists have made some.
I remember playing this. It was so fun, but challenging on some of the puzzles. Honestly, Gab you solved several of the ones I struggled on so much faster than I did. My ADHD makes it hard to do puzzles if I can't solve them swiftly.
Haha I know i’m a month late but I remember my older sister playing this game a long time ago and me trying to help her. Only about three years later I actually played the game and the sequel by myself but it will forever hold a place in my heart as one my key memories with my sister.
I used to play this when it first came out on mobile. I also had played the second one and Eda's Dream. This game is so beautiful that I screenshot it and use it as my phone wallpaper for a long time. I'm so EXCITED when I saw this in my subcribed feed and I bet that you'll like it too
Really loving all these amazing chilled indie games with wonderful music! Never seen this game before, but it reminds me a lot of Fez. Gab should play Fez if she hasn't already. Would love to watch more cute puzzle chill gaming Gab videos!
This game reminds me of another game called The Gardens Between. It was the first game I played when I got my switch and it is absolutely beautiful and heartwarming. I wish this were available on switch, I bet it’d be a cool playing experience
Imagine living in that place though. One the one hand you'd save so much money on rent if you could just have your bedroom on the ceiling of your living room, on the other hand I don't want to see the assembly instructions for N-dimensional IKEA furniture.
Love this series, always glad to see more. Sadly, the merch appears to be sold out, hopefully it gets restocked. And yes, you should definitely do MV2.
3 minutes of watching this game and I am sold on it. ChatGPT recommended it for being non-violent. I was not expecting such a piece of art. Will most likely buy. I need some beauty in my life.
I bought these shortly after they came out. Such great games! I wish the game could've lasted longer, but it was one of the best games I've ever played. 👍🏻😊❤️
I enjoyed watching every single second of this!! It's so aesthetic and pretty but also mind blowing lol... I would def watch you play monument valley 2!!!🤩
I remember when Sean played this! If you like this game, then you'd probably really like a game called "Omno". It also has a cute main character and is a puzzle adventure that is nicely challenging. Would love to see you play it!
Another nice "perspective puzzle" game is the 2019 indie game Superliminal, played in first-person perspective and with a feel of The Stanley Parable. Another unique puzzle game from 2019 is Manifold Garden. It is overwhelmingly positive on Steam, and it has 360-degree, gravity-bending first-person view that makes puzzle-solving quite challenging.
Hi Gabs! I've been loving all your videos lately, they always make my day :) I would suggest you check out Nuts, it's a puzzle-game-meets-firewatch type thing where you're a scientist observing squirrels! Super fun, I think it matches the kind of games you play really well.
Consider looking up Manifold Garden. Similar focus on perspective, but the mechanic is more about changing gravity six different ways to make stuff fall into the right place over self-wrapped repeated worlds.
When you finished the forgotten shores expansion, I think I no when this takes place. Forgotten shores takes place between level 9 and level 10 in the base game, and forgotten shores is the journey to the observatory where level 10 takes place
Tenerife
ok sry but Tenerife literally sounds made up lmfao
@@embadly I'm dyslexic OK 🤣
i feel the same way you do, played this since i was a little kid, and it has always amazed me, i replay it once a year even though i know everything it is still fun

I remember spending way too many hours late into the evening playing this game way back when. This game has a special place in my heart. So glad you finally played it! These cozy games have been great.
Same!! It was quite relaxing for 7 year old me!
Me too! The coolest game I've ever played. Loved everything about it! Thanks for sharing this. I can't remember if I had to install it as an app like from play store or if I just came across it online.

mate its just a trial and error game, if something does not work then rotate, its extremely simple don't pretend like its anything else
@fart4192 I think that most people who say "it's too easy" are _completely_ missing the point.
It's not intended to a complicated, brain-mangling puzzle game.

This comment deserves more likes! It's exactly the kind of comment I was looking for! You've explained the story pretty well!
theres two of them?
wow! i actually was so sad at the level with crows…. because at one moment there is a reflection of her… a white crow with a crown. i thought they were annoying at first, but that scene…. when she laid down the flower… it made me so emotional. i stopped playing for a while then.
This game is memories 🥰 now my favourite chill youtuber/streamer is playing it 😍
Came to comments to say the same 🥰
I know my uncle sent us this little of brand tablet when we were little and that was one of the games we played on it I just recently found out you can get it on IPhone
My dad and I used to play that when I was a child. This brings back so many nice memories 🥰
This game reminds me of another game I’ve played before called “Gris” on steam. It’s so pretty and atmospheric with a deeper meaning and is just so enjoyable to play, so I highly recommend it!! 💕✨
I had the same thought as you lol! I think Gris would be a great game to see in one of these videos someday
I will show my age but on the PSP I played a game called Echochrome. Way worse art but same gameplay.
She knows it! It is on het list ^^
these games were my first ever venture into mind puzzles
Monument Valley (1 & 2) has a special place in my heart
Love, love, loving these serene games Gab is playing. I remember playing this forever ago! Also, the strawberry top is back!
Can't wait for your play of the sequel if you're still up for it! It's absolutely visually gorgeous as well as MV1, the characters are different but similar tale nonetheless, the puzzles are just as soothing. I'm sure you'll enjoy it 😁💕
Also: spirographs!
edit: Had to look it up because I misspelled it. Apparently, Hasbro still makes them!
I used to love this game when I was around 11-12
It's so nice to see someone play this for the first time. Such a delightful game.

omgggg this just unlocked a core memory!! I remember playing this when I was in high school 😭 thank you so much for playing this!
Loving all these chill games you’ve been playing lately. Really nice way to unwind at the end of the day!
I LOVE this game! I played it, the dlc, and the sequel when they first came out on ios. I love this game so much! It's so fun and relaxing, and the impossible geometry is so fun

Waaaah! I love monument valley! Also when she says “take my pancake” I can’t help but giggle…
I came across it as I read this, 23:02
this video is making me cry and i haven't even watched it yet, i am in love with this game, and it reminds me of memories with my grandmother, memories i can't recreate, now she is gone. thank you gab, i am so happy you are playing this game. it still amazes me how it works. play the second one, i cried while playing the second one from memories of my mom singing "you are my sunshine " to me when i woke up. love from new york :3

Think about this game in first person. The little character's perspective of this game MUST be insane.
Yes! One of my favourite comfort games to play on my way home! I am glad to see you love this game as well. They have done Monument Valley 2, which has a different story, but I find it equally enjoyable. I hope they release that too so you can enjoy the world even more!
I need a compilation of gab going "there you go" in tiny every time she figures out the path to the doorway. my heart
Sean played this back in the day. You can talk to him about it now.
What a trippy game! That second chapter did a good job explaining a simple gimmick; that you're not necessarily moving up and down but rather existing on a singular flat plane. Just because a platform "moved up or down" doesn't mean you can't still cross through.
So trippy!
Speaking as someone who was mildly obsessed with the art of MC Escher in high school, I love this game! So beautiful.
Playing this was one of my favorite gaming experiences ever. I love the art and vibe of the whole thing.
TBB = Totem Best Boy.
I loved how she would get so happy to see him and how she kept praising him for being so helpful for Ida.
I'm sure that we all kind of liked him and found him cute.
I thought it was adorable how he would sometimes turn his head and look around.

❤😊
I remember playing this game with my sister on one of the test iPad at Costco while my parents shopped. It was a really fun game to play with my sister. Weird but great memory.
that was an absolute delight🥰
what a creative and smart game! it's impressive how it can be so intuitive and challenging at the same time. plus the aesthetic and sound desight are mwah cheffs kiss.
great episode, Gab! thank xxx
Your chill streams have been an absolute godsend over the last couple of weeks. Our nearly 1yr old isn't sleeping well so these are perfect to have on while she potters about until she's tired. Thank you for the lovely chilled streams 😊
The design and care put into this game astound me EVERY. TIME. So much fun getting to watch you play through it!
I remember playing this game and the sequel when I was like 10, I loved both games to death.
This was very relaxing to watch and listen to!
You helped me draw for the first time in months lol thanks
this is so nostalgic bro. i would always play this on my moms phone when i was a kid
i love monument valley! i have such great memories of playing it! the art is stunning and the storyline is makes and breaks my heart
I absolutely adored this game when I was younger, it makes me really happy to see someone finally make a video on it :)
This is still one of my favorite games, and I can't think of anyone better to revisit it with! The vibes are immaculate!
Can't wait to revisit the sequel with you, your reactions are so fun!
The Thief level looks like the gears of a complex clock. And love the relationship with Totem Boy.
Still probably my favorite game, all these years later ❤
i have such fond memories of playing this years ago and it still holds up today as the best mobile game i've ever played. it's lovely to revisit it by seeing it played by someone else as it's like playing the game for the first time again! 10/10 nostalgia trip would recommend
Oubliette, French for 'little place of forgetting.' They often had views of the dining room and prisoners trapped inside would slowly starve while watching other people eat.
The genius behind this game design is astounding ☺
"What's an oubliette?"
"It's a place you put people to forget about 'em."
Although not a puzzle game, for some reason this reminds me of Gris. The colors and chill music is a vibe.
this is one of my favorite games, I'm so glad you tried it out. I think its so pretty and satisfying, such a magical feel. Love
This game's art style reminds me a little of Lara Croft GO.
It's a fun & clever puzzle game inspired by classic Tomb Raider gameplay. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone if they haven't tried it before!
This was the very first mobile game I paid for. It is beautiful and relaxing. I return to it often.
There is also a sequal! These two game were the first once I ever bought on the phone. Worth every cent
one of my favorite mobile games ever!! i really love the graphics, puzzle, story and ambience. it was such a magical experience!
"behold our sacred geometry-"
PANCAKE
Im so happy to see someone play this game! It was one of the first games that I fell in love with and to see one of my favorite people playing after years of not seeing it makes me feel really happy. Its very nostalgic for me. I also find it so cool that they released a pc version. I know what im going to be playing soon!
I also love seeing someone elses perspective in this game because i have played it so much to the point of memorizing every level and what to do so its cool to see someone new to it play it :]
I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I never knew it was there! I’ve played so many games because I’ve seen you play them. So fun.
Can’t wait to see you play the sequel!
there was a similar game on ps3 called echochrome, I remember playing it while high and it was a whole damn experience
Such a calming game.
First saw Sean do this game and love that you made a full gameplayyy....so excited for you to play the sequel!
Now I was excited when you went through The Room series. But then I saw this. I remember playing this game years ago and still go back to it and it’s sequel. I remember playing this on the kindle fire with my moms money. Safe to say i was blown away so this is a nice piece of nostalgia. :)
This brought me back I remember playing this on my phone years ago getting stuck on some of the wind mill levels and assembling the totem level. I would love to see more and yes they do have some Totem merch, not personally sold by the devs but it looks like some independent artists have made some.
I FREAKING LOVE THIS GAME!!!! So happy you’re playing it.
This is so beautifu, calming and wholesome! 💫
This is one of my favorite games! I lost count of how many times I played it on my cell phone.
This game gave me hours of entertainment. I hope that a new version is on the horizon in my my lifetime.
Monument Valley is one of my favorite games ever!! Im so glad you’re finally able to play it!!
Yes! Please play 2! ❤️ I loved sitting here having my brain be blown with some of these perspectives 😂
Monument valley ohh the memories playing this game on my phone the good old days
I'm so glad so many of the comments have good memories of this game, It was my childhood favourite too
im so sure i had this game a long long time ago on either my old phone or ipad. good days
This game is so relaxing. I played for the first time some years ago, it's cool that now has a PC version!
One of my all time favorites!!! 😍 I’m so excited to see you play it
I used to play this when it first came out on mobile.
I was playing it at the same time you were and i wouldn’t have been able to solve some of the puzzles without you
I'm so glad that you played Dread! A little sad that I won't get to watch your play of it, but I'm super thrilled that you still played it regardless.
YAYYY!! I just finished your a short hike vid and it was great! Really great seeing you play the games i already did, brings me back 😊♥️
This game reminds me of another game called The Gardens Between.
I love this game!! Excited to watch you play it, and see the extra content! 😍
This and captain toad are probably the only puzzle games I’ve ever beaten
Love this series, always glad to see more. Sadly, the merch appears to be sold out, hopefully it gets restocked. And yes, you should definitely do MV2.
3 minutes of watching this game and I am sold on it. ChatGPT recommended it for being non-violent. I was not expecting such a piece of art. Will most likely buy. I need some beauty in my life.
I bought these shortly after they came out. Such great games!
I wish the game could've lasted longer, but it was one of the best games I've ever played. 👍🏻😊❤️
I loved this! It would be so much fun to see the sequel if you decide to record it ♡
I enjoyed watching every single second of this!!
I remember playing this game on my dad's phone when I was an even teensier one 😭❤️
Hi Gabs! I've been loving all your videos lately, they always make my day :)
I would suggest you check out Nuts, it's a puzzle-game-meets-firewatch type thing where you're a scientist observing squirrels! Super fun, I think it matches the kind of games you play really well.
I played and finished the game years ago, it was so fun and addicting! I hope you enjoyed playing it as much as i did :) 👍🏻
Watching this is like meditation. Ty Gab
