What I expected: This will be a chill video about an aesthetically pleasing videogame What I got: Tyler is suffering the anxiety associated with being a mother
big fan of the first game, cant wait to see what exciting puzzles come in this one also small note: the first game follows the character Ida (i believe?) and this one seems to be following a new character Ro… excited to see the lore behind the story
@@SkyMurphy77 I kinda doubt it, Ida also has the cone hat and (spoilers) is a crow princess while the ghost has a different hat and there's more ghosts that are in like a council
Monument Valley! I remember this game, used to play it sometimes with my mom. Fun to see it again, would definitely love to see more! In fact, I’m gonna check out your playthrough of the first game now because it’s such a nice game.
It is kinda funny, I tried to find this video a week ago thinking he should've played this game already, and now some days later here we are. Thank you Tyler for this gameplay :D
YES please would I love you to check the lost forest out and I'm sure many will agree. Long episode got me hyped and a tranquil time right after a long day of work was the most perfect scenario, but even without it I know I wouldve loved it just as much. Our favourite consistency player is quite the consistent amazing content creator. Hopefully everything is also consistently good in your life, Tyler, have a great day!
Wow! I haven’t seen this game in along time! I use to played Monument Valley 1 & 2 all the time when they where first released. I always wished they created a 3rd one but that never happened as it was my favorite game growing up.
Ohh I remember playing this game as soon as it came out, I was such a big fan of the first one that I just had to try this one as soon as possible I completely forgot it existed, and seeing it again after so long made me feel nostalgia haha, such a good game.
i started playing both MV1 and MV2 along with the extra levels since they were released and occasionally I go back and play them again and this video just gives me so much nostalgia omg
On “The Oasis” separate the child and Ro, with Ro at the sliding exit. (Do this by putting Ro on the slider, and the child left on the solid, slide Ro and have her walk to the door) Have the child go to Ro, and you skip the cutscene and the extra part.
Was lucky enough to get it free on Apple’s week & played through it all on my phone before, been quite a fan of the Monument Valley series 👍 (It’s good to relive those memories/moments again with you)
Hey Tyler, I absolutely love your content and have ever since the BTD5 days. I was wondering, have you ever considered playing/played Machinarium? It is a rather challenging puzzler with a hand drawn art style. I definitely think you should check it out! If that game doesn't sound too appealing to you, another that I suggest, would be Outer Wilds. Outer Wilds is a space exploration puzzle game that is hands down, 100% the best game I have ever played. Outer Wilds is much too underrated but the story is brilliant. Outer Wilds also has an interesting way of completion. Rather than progressing and unlocking new areas, you must learn of how to solve puzzles and discover the secrets of the universe.
This guy is literally super underrated at half a million subs, hes giving us great, long content daily witth positive comentary without clickbait, get a good editor and youll be golden
I've also noticed the Ouroboros motif is a lot more recurring, but it feels more like an emerging common side motif for games than an actual trend or common concept. Not for this one specifically, but inscryption featured it as its most powerful card by a long shot, that diving game with soul transfer had it, and it seems like people just know about it in general. Feels like some game (my guess is either inscryption or GoW) brought the concept to public view, and it being a cool and ancient pre-existing reference to cycles made it a prime target to indicate a cycle going on without having to invent your own motif. So any game with some sort of cycle, be it a groundhog-day type time cycle or a "linear" cycle like the princesses in monument valley, has a heavy incentive to use ouroboros as a background motif to hint at the larger story. It's a unique, universal, interesting and ultimately cool motif that will probably be better than what you could come up with, so why bother make something worse? I'm guessing it'll keep getting more common until it becomes cliche, then slow down. I do personally like the motif, so I don't mind, but I also used to like Megalovania quite a bit so overusing anything is probably a bad idea. On a seperate note, cycles as a story concept seem like they've really gotten more common lately, probably doesn't help the cycle motif being used less when the thing it describes is more common.
These games remind me of the game echocrome for the PSP - same idea but you connect the lines by rotating the camera. It's an awesome idea and I hope they do more with it!
Long relaxing puzzle game videos fit the niche of 2300 CST posts very well. Helps shut my brain off to get to sleep, and I know I’m not the only one. Man is PLAYING youtube like a fiddle, and by god I’d swear his name is Johnny
This and monument valley 1 were a brilliant introduction to the genre personally called 'perspective puzzlers' another that has been heard of is 'fez' though this title has not been personally tested.
If you are reading this I just want to say I love your videos keep up the good work and I have a recommendation to a puzzle game called "HUE" I haven't seen many people try out the game it is a really fun puzzle game you should check it out
This theory about the game isn’t too solid, mainly because of the sparseness of specific lore, so if anyone has any input, I would love to hear it! I think this game might be the past of MV1, since 1 seems to be some sort of redemption arc for a character who failed in some way- 2 seems to be some sort of trials, maybe Ida failed them and didn’t finish them, messing up some sort of cycle? Or it takes place after 1 and Ida began the cycle at the end of the game after… something. The game never specified why the birds became crows. Of course, it’s just a theory. A GAME-
Okay, I agree that this game is a prequel, but for a different reason. In 1, it is implied that humanity has been killed off, the ghost mentions the sacred geometry as being that their downfall I think. I don't think that Ida was a human who broke the cycle. I think she was just a bird princess who cursed her people by stealing the geometry. This game, 2, seems to show the importance of the geometry, I think the ending implies that the people have a mission, like a pilgrimage, to contribute in their own why to this geometry, and that the ghosts never finished their mission, that is why they each have a podium for their geometry. I think this game is just an explanation of the spirit and ritual surrounding the geometry, explaining why Ida stealing it caused her people such grief. The games are vague though, so I'm if the lore is very in-depth. I think "bird princess steal important geometry and cursed her people to walk the ruins of humanity while she searches for forgiveness" is lore enough for me
I have noticed the increase in use of the symbolism. I feel its an expression of the changing in intrest of society, but the unchanging nature of reality.
Tyler not realizing child Ro isn't her child but herself when she went through the trial was kinda funny.
Exactly, one would've thought that the clothing would make that clear
And the dreams were actually with her own mother with the same teal clothing.
@@BuilderB08 He is talking about the one in the memory level, the one that also wears the orange dress.
@@doomse150 Oh ok

I absolutely needed a hour long video of Tyler saying "the child" over and over. It brings me joy
This idea reminds me of the ''The Baby'' montage of Metroid Other M.
The story about how a mother passing the tradition to her child and the flashback when she was a child, very lovely 💕

Just wanted to say, you're awesome. Keep it up dude, you'll just keep getting greater.
This’ll be a nice one to help me relax before I go to bed. Appreciate the content as always.
I do the same. Work and school takes its toll. I rely on these videos.
I remember playing this game a lot when I was younger, so many hours spinning circles in the backseat of my Dad’s car.
Played this game as a child, it’s much easier to bend your view of the world if you don’t really know how the real world works.
Me too!
That‘s a nice one. The first game was already really fun to watch.
Ah, glad to see you finally getting around to MV2. It's a shame you couldn't get to it sooner, but if it's on steam that should be much easier-
It is kinda funny, I tried to find this video a week ago thinking he should've played this game already, and now some days later here we are.
Thank you Tyler for this gameplay

Love the long videos Tyler, thank you for this
Ooh a one hour long video! I’m excited!
get some milk shake
The story really opens up when you realize the pillar is the father
So... Is this metaphor for couple losing their child and recovering from it? Or I did not understand the lore?
I headcannoned that as a kid, but it’s actually true?
