  • 52a - Update to the What's New in the May 2024 Update
Cyberlink Support responds to my concerns over 3 items in the May 2024 update to PowerDirector 365. Their answers may surprise you.
1 - The removal of the speaker/volume icon on the preview window
2 - The loss of all users previously saved video profiles
3 - The inability to adjust audio parameters of a video file being exported

I don't know what to think about this update!!!!!

What's to think about? I caught Cyberlink in a major bug that allows the update to lose all of a users previously saved video profiles. And I'm trying to call them out for removing the speaker/volume icon for what amounts to no reason why they would do that. The last part about setting up audio settings for a video requires the procedure to create a new custom profile. And I'm glad to find out that it can still be done. I was afraid that they might have taken that completely away.

As a subscriber you got like #3 from me. But the part about about the custom profile and audio is over my head. I think there is a good potential tutorial about the need, configuration and method to create or adjust custom profiles. In layman's language.

Fair enough! And you are correct about the custom profile info presented in this short video might be over the head of some users. This video was not intended to be that kind of informative one but rather to show that the ability to create custom profiles that also allowed custom audio settings was still possible after the update. I'm thinking about doing such a video to show the how-to.
For the time being just think of it this way: there are some people that want to create and save their videos in ultra high bitrate settings rather than just accept Cyberlink's one-size fits all setting. At the same time there are some people that want to create just a low bitrate version of a video perhaps just for documentation purposes or maybe they are really short of disk space and need the smallest file size possible.

I was always wondering why PowerDirector never had a option for 120 frames per second

But it does, even 240 frames per second. When you go to export, click on custom profile, and then lower down is the frame rate. Click the down arrow and select 120 fps.
