I know this video is old but you just fixed my entire snatch after this video. Before my hands were ripping and now because I'm gripping the kettlebell the correct way I feel I have a stronger grip and can go longer without needing chalk. THANK YOU.
That was the perfect exercise I was searching for! Congratulation you win a new subscriber :) We don't need new fancy exercises we need to understand those little details who make a nice life 😊
Still the best video on grip and hand insertion on the youtubes. You’ve taught me so much, and I remember this video as it helped me out a lot at one point. If I ever teach someone what I know, I know where a lot of it came from.
Swing This Kettlebell and Strength great... thank you ... I’ve got to work on the drop - my drop technique is not sustainable ... shreds me to pieces !!
Hi Joe, thanks so much for this. Could you please make a similar one for the unloading/downswing portion of the clean? That's where I keep tearing up my hands despite all your instruction to just catch it in the "J" of the grip.
Just bought my first competition bells. I have a really wide hand and am having some difficulty with the grip in the overhead position. I will definitely try this drill to improve the transition. Thank you.
Good information and thank you for the info. I have a pair of same brand 12kgs and a pair of 27kg...the 12 kg i bought so I can learn the proper insertion, especially with 33mm handles. Its helping but i am noticing pain in my forearms where the bells rest. Is that normal? Is it something my forarms will get used to?
Good video actualy makes me think about my bells a bit, I cannot quite get the same level of diagnol in the clean grip as you with my KBs.. I think its probably the shape of my KBs though.. I can clean it comfortably from hook to across my palm resting next to my thumb and that works for me without banging my wrist unless I get it wrong that is, If I try and replicate your grip resting it almost pulls my wrist into hyper extension, I guess your KBs benefit from the wider grip whereas mine arc back in..
Yeah ditto. I tried a similar technique with the kettlebells at my gym and I couldn't get into quite the position that Joe is showing.. Seems the handle gap is too tight and would put a twisting weight on my arm.
Is it ok to use the barbell grip, but with my wrist straight not bent back, I ask cause I tried the diagonal grip and it feels really uncomfortable on the back of my forearm, but when I do the barbell grip I feel no pain at all and I can do alot of reps pain free. I don't know if it's cause the kettlebell I have is a 50lb bell from Walmart and it has a more v shape and it's not like the one you have in the video.
your personal opinion of quality and comfort is wrong, joe! also someone gave this a thumbs down so this vid and the info within is shit. have a nice weekend.
I have literally binge watched a ton of experts, THIS is the BEST video on GRIPS, FINALLLLLLYYYY, thanks :-)
Haha thank you I'm glad you found it I feel the same
Honestly one of if not THE BEST grip video I’ve ever seen
Im going with THE best ;) thanks.

Perfect timing... I just did a ton of snatches and I was doing exactly everything you were saying not to do! Boy I’ve got work to do
Glad to Help mike
Next video is deep in the snatch tutorial.
Swing This Kettlebell and Strength great... thank you ... I’ve got to work on the drop - my drop technique is not sustainable ... shreds me to pieces !!
Start with a half snatch where you drop, into rack position then back swing after the overhead.,
Thanks for uploading this. I'm suffering with my left hand calluses so this will do me the world of good.
Happy you get something out of it.!
Thanks man! I like your technique!
Many thanks
Never too late to learn and change. If only I knew this earlier. Thanks brother!
Happy you know it now
Thanks for this drill
Very welcome. Please share
That helped me a lot! Thanks!

Excellent demonstration!

I've done. A few they're in the snatch and clean playlists.
You may have to catch it a little bit more in the meat of your hands but it's a timing and technique issue
Thanks for this video, great explanation of the technique
Very welcome. Yes it's one of the best ways I can teach people
Ill give it a go thanks Joe
Yourw welcome let me know how it goes.
This is gold for me. Thank you Joe :-)
great to hear sir!

Cool. I have plenty of videos to help. Thumb and forefinger webbing should be bear the post/handle curve. 45 degree angle. Takes some time,
Beautiful! :)
Thank you

Excellent video, btw
Thanks I believe that's a35

Absolutely!
Going to add this into my routine. It should hopefully fix the poor down phase of my snatch. How well do you find this transitions into LC?
Have you seen the close up slow no snatch videos ive made about the drop?
Very well for LC as thats what I normally compete in
I haven't come across any! I'll search the channel today! Thanks for all the informative content!
Youre welcome.
More great info, thanks Joe! (I'm still gonna have to have some of those Comp Bells)
It will work for any bell but a few comp bells are cool to get you thinking, and training differently as well.

Yes do whatever makes you not hurt. But chances are it's your KB. This is the proper way for everyone to hold a comp and or cast iron kettlebell
Great fucking video, my dude!
Thanks. Please share.
Why at bench press it hurts so much :(
Don't know I'm not a fan of bench press with barbell for quite a few reasons.
It hurts with kettlebell not with barbell :/ i also already tried to apply your technique
@hallohalo8569 ahh. Sorry some time it takes awhile keep trying to adjust.
This video could have been 60 seconds
Thanks
RUclips doesnt pay me for 60 seconds 😂
You should shoot a 60 second technique video and post it.
Try 20 seconds😅
Maybe 5, it's pointless.
Not the best quality kettlebell.
None better in US. What do you recommend?
