The available evidence indicates that Qigong and related Nei Gong practices can induce beneficial epigenetic changes that contribute to their therapeutic effects on stress, immunity, and overall health.

Several people in China decades ago who were experts on buddhism, taoism, and confucianism didn't like the fact taoism was becoming more popular thsn buddhism because, the powers one can get from neigong cause people to become distracted preventing them from reaching the dragon gate/enlightenment/nirvana. Neigong is great if you're a healer (or warrior) but the average person doesn't need massive amounts of chi or to spend the time necessary to replenish it as it's being used up. The assumed founder of MoPai, Mozi, figured out chi cultivation before it was passed on to Bodhidharma. Mozi didn't promote Taoism over Buddhism. He promoted the Lankavatara sutra dealing with universal love because that's more important than pushing chopsticks through tables or electrocuting people with your chi to show off. Showing off and getting rich is the reason why teachers asked their students never to ask for money for their healing and not to share what's possible with every fool. The average person needs to accept their karma especially if they don't have the chance or personality to complete every level of the training within the rules. The goal is to become a dragon/buddha, not levitate or block punches with chi.

I study Wing Chun martial arts and when Damo Mitchell spoke about Wu Jei (sorry, spelling) it sounded very much like the Wing Chun stance, how we rock the pelvis forward and align the spine etc - I wonder if there is a connection here between the two arts?

So this spiritual practice which is supposed to enhance people and free them from their egos is controlled by people who don't want others to learn it??? Wouldn't that be an ego centered controlling tactic?? Do you see my point and why would you let them control what you say?? Doesn't this all help you to sell books? No disrespect meant.

One of the issues which many don't understand is that if one gives something of value to someone who isn't ready for that thing, that thing then often isn't taken seriously or in the way it's supposed to be taken. So having something harder to get whether it's knowledge or something else, means that those getting it will value it more (and as far as special teachings go - then more likely to try it out and practice it).
Also those who do not under the value of certain teachings may do things like go and water them down so end up not getting the full value or end up thinking they do not work well. So that cheapens the teachings. Much knowledge has been corrupted in this way since the internet has come about by people who are not teachers casually sharing and then others just sharing. . I can think of 3 different things in which this has happened (and two of these things now have become dangerous due to sharing without the warnings which teachers would give. People ending up with severe mental issues and other issues with their bodies because they got hold of info and tried practicing things they weren't ready for or incorrectly..
I've had people coming to me asking for help at times s they've got themselves into trouble and harmed themselves with info they found online. Sadly a couple of these people I heard they were doing certain practices and gave them the proper warnings but they laughed the warnings off as others were doing these things and hadn't had issue and then they end up running to me for help when things go wrong.
Some I then could still help while others I couldn't. I will give a personal experience of one of the incidences I tried dealing with, how serious things can be when they go wrong when people are not doing practices correctly or which should only be being done with the approval of a knowledgable teacher.
I had to call an ambulance for one person after someone didn't follow a safety warning I gave, within 24hrs she was in serious trouble with her partner contacting me to come as she was unconscious on a bathroom floor where he'd left her naked for nearly 18 hrs with with her body completely abnormal (we picked her up unconscious from the floor one holding her head and the other holding her ankles as it was like she was just a stiff log, her body didn't bend or even sag in the middle) and from her body coming with strange noises which shouldn't be possible (like echo noise as if sound was coming up out of a bottomless hell pit or something). He'd become terrified of the weirdness so he'd just shut the door and left her body on the floor.
I tried to fix what was going on with her energy (I'd never come across anyone with shut down chakras before but hers was and were like shrivelled raisins rather than being what they should be like and worst still unlike anyone else I've ever worked on, her energy body wouldn't respond at all when i tried to help the problem areas and I couldn't bring her back). She didn't even have any pain responses, I had no choice but after almost 2 hrs of trying to get her conscious but to phone an AMBULANCE seeing she couldn't eat or drink and had no awareness at all. (note people throw about the term shut down chakras all the time but that isn't actually true, if your chakras were all fully shut down, you'd be dead or comatose...you can not function like that. This is not something one usually comes across, I've worked on 100s of people and have NEVER before then or since come across someone with an energy body like this).
All this just because during a practice she didn't do a very important preparation thing she should have done before doing a certain thing. She'd avoided something she'd been told to do by both our teacher when he was alive (and then also encouraged by me when I found she wasn't doing it) which would have taken only 10 SECONDS OR SO TO DO but she didn't see it as being important. I have not a clue what happened to her as I avoided her after this incident, what happened was way out of my depth to deal with so she was left with no one to help her at all. I heard that she'd come out of the unconsciousness in hospital the next day and completely freaked out on finding herself there so had fled the hospital an they'd gone after her and taken her back in).
Anyway, I've found myself in crazy situations with having to try to help people with situations they should not have even ended in in the first place all cause they did an unsafe practice or got hold of info they should not have had. Some things SHOULD NEVER be being learnt without a proper teacher's involvement and they are not taught till years of preparation stuff and prerequisites has been learnt
If you find something on youtube or whatever, don't just go assuming it's safe (I know of several unsafe videos there which I wont point out as I don't want to draw attention to them).. One person I know who was given practices which was supposed to be safe ended up having to be hospitalized for THREE MONTHS after it set off something he could not deall with which then gave him mental issues (and was left the problem as their drugs didn't help him). People are getting harmed and have no one able to help them from these harms (very advanced teachers capable of helping people when things go badly wrong are hard to find, leaving less advanced teachers trying to help things sometimes above our ability to help).
If a teacher gives a student knowledge that a student isn't ready for and it ends up misused harming that student or another, that teacher is responsible and points to a poor teacher and as consequences upon that teacher (it's equal to like a adult giving a child a gun). There are many things in which people may not be able to see a possible harm from which can be harmful.
