The usefulness of sorting ammo is situational. Early game it is the best option for producing a variety of small arms ammo. It is not reliable for producing 5.56 and larger calibers. Due to the random mixture, you will get a variety of ammo which may not be ideal if you have a lot of spare .22, .45, and 12g but are using up a lot of 9mm. Where ammo usage is not evenly distributed, and other small arms ammo is not needed, crafting will be more reliable.
Munitions is best for crafting 5.56 and above which is not usually a concern in the early game. It's perfectly fine to sort ammo until a Munitions expert is required for mid to late game ammo supply.
I agree to that! If you need random caliber rounds (just like above mentioned) then RvidD's method is FULLY LEGIT. However, if you require a specific calliber, 9mm or 5.56mm only (in my case), then you better off use a ammo press. Providing you can always find other types of ammunition while scavenging you don't even have to spend any AMMO to produce it. So saving AMMO for dedicated ammunition type will be more efficient. For an instance, in 'Nightmare' difficulty with 'Munitions' skill you spend 4 AMMO to get 55 5.56mm rounds. For 60 AMMO (number used in RvidD's tests) I get - 60/4(60 devide by 4)=15, and then 15x55=825 5.56mm rounds. And best result with RvidD's method was 134 for 5.56mm rounds. Following RvidD's method gives you more rounds overall, but not of spicific caliber. In the end of the day that also depends on your play style. May be you like using different guns for different purposes (just like RvidD outlined at the end of this video). Now if you combine my calculations with RvidD's video for unlimited resources you know exactly what is going to work for you BEST. GOOD LUCK, ZED KILLA!
This is an excellent explanation. You're a cut above the rest RivdD. You're very cerebral and always to the point.
Great Video, thx for the work....
Great analysis
Gret video thank you!
Awesome as usual 😀
Thank You my Friend!!!!!
This great information!
As usual you’re awesome👍 from kenobi🤠
Buddy!!!!!!!!!
wow this is pretty helpful
I've never imagined that sorting ammo are way more efficient in crafting low tier bullets. I always need a Munitions expert for C4 crafting and for crafting high caliber rounds and pyrolauncher ammo efficiently. As always, very useful and informative videos from the GOD of SoD 2!
Wow, i never know that sorting ammo can do massive when it sorted in bulk. I rarely used this sort ammo in late game. Well, thank you for the tips @Rvid 🥰
That is great if you’re using a variety of firearms but I think we all have a set favorite ammo or two so I think if you’re specifically needing 5.56, 7.62 or .50 you’d be better off crafting it for yourself
Bro this is amazing information I had no idea this was even good
It is really amazing for long term communities Brian!!! Only if the ammo costs were not rounded up, it will work very well in Lethal too!!!
@@StateofDecayScience man keep up the great work your videos are so full of knowledge your a true master of this game dude !
Great video! Thanks for breaking down the math, and analysing it per difficulty too!
Great tip! I just need to somehow produce ammo on lethal lol
Very good stuff here. I really appreciate the chart breakdown of the numbers. Another good one!
Today i learned the hard way, only use biochem station if you're not planning to fight the Blood Plague using bullets. Armory and Biochem station don't go well on each other because using both require large sum of chemicals
Ammo manufacturers hate him! Find out why with this simple trick!
Lmao
awesome
Huh who knew.
I always use sorting ammo when start fresh community / playtrough . So i unknowingly did a good thing
Better results and variety if u sort ammo in the base screen and not standing in the storage area
Absolutely not! There is absolutely no difference between sorting ammo in person and sorting ammo from base screen. The results we get will always be based on RNG. So sometimes sorting in person will be better. Sometimes sorting from base screen will be better.
Great tip, I did not know this. It seems like it should be a bug, but hey, I'm not going to knock it. Not needing a Muns frees up a slot for another skill.
"It seems like it should be a bug"
Definitely not a bug!!! It has been like this for years!!
The game doesn’t punish you from your scavenged supply!
At least not like you think it does, but since the amount of ammo and caliber is random each time, you are somewhat in a terrible position, if you only get rounds for weapons you don’t have, or don’t use (situational wise)
Crafting is still better, cause you can take influence what you get and how much you gain is always the same making it much more reliable for mid and late game.
I just buy the ammo sacks from the ammo trader then look for more ammo sacks while waiting to suon the trader again, which amounts to 12 sacks per hour and ive been able to do it with materials at the same time. A 30 minute test ended with 6 of each. Even without munitions expert ive been crafting at least a stack of 5.56 each session
If you just need 50mm cal ammo, is it more efficient to just craft it? Just asking since I dont know...
Sorting ammo produces all the bullets.. But the probability of getting 50cal and 40mm is very low... (it also doesn't produce CLEO and pyro munitions)
If you need a specific caliber, using dedicated methods will always be the best way
When you need exact ammo for your silences guns it’s far from ideal but good video either way
RVIDD, is military truck spawn at all maps? I started campaign but cannt find it.
It is just RNG
@@StateofDecayScience when I move to another map will i loose all my vehicles?
@@TDILMAN100 The ones parked on the parking slots will be transferred with you.. but don't try to park multiple vehicles in a same slot.. won't work
@@StateofDecayScience good to know, if I put loot bags (fod, materials, ammo) in vehicle and park it will I get those bags in new map or those bags will be wiped?
Things in the trunk stay
I always use a mix. When I have the specific ammo I'm gonna use like .22, 9mm. 45 and 12g, I use my spare excedents to be opened randomly. Also, it's always good to disamble weapons you won't use to get ammo from them. Every projectile counts!
I always figured the ammo presses were better than this wow
what outfit is your character wearing?
Just some black outfits. Trenchcoat, tattered suit, flannel shirt etc
@@StateofDecayScience thank you, i'm was talking about the outfit your blond female character was wearing (love your videos btw didn't think you would reply lol)
Rain coat
So is crafting dedicated ammo with munition skills more efficient to sorting ammo?
No.. That's not what I said...
sorting ammo will be upto 20% more efficient than dedicated methods (even with munitions bonus) in NZ, SZ & GZ
@@StateofDecayScience Didn’t know u have already put that into consideration, sorry about that
i dont see a point in having any ammo type when zombies ferals bloaters and screamers die with a single headshot no matter,
the only useful thing to have better ammo is shooting jugs, plague hearts and thats it lol
а можно как то на русский переводить, а то мой енглиш слаб, а контент вроде интересный))
This is good stuff yeah🤌🤙🏾
Hold Up! i did this all the time. And your wrong about most not knwing it.
Sure the Quicker player who only want to kill Zeds don't know but
anyone whos mastered the community mechanics is aware.
It's just that before the 1/2 way point in a map= ammo is no
longer a rare thing.
I scrap all the .22 from my storage, got a lot of scrap from this useless caliber
I wish I could understand your accent
Cant see this being useful.....
Top dificulties you shouldnt be using weapons in the begining.
Mid to endgame lower calibers dont really matter. You should be using guns that take down hearts and jugs.
But you should also know that higher calibers are very inefficient against hearts and Juggs.. I say you should never use 7.62 against juggs because it is pointless
I didn't understand anything, but it's very interesting.(с)
