One thing to note about the Broken Heart is that it gets immediately awakened, if you let the event go by without destroying it, it will remain awakened. So if you get the event it's best you take advantage from it as soon as possible.
Ooohh.. I just started to play and had this curveball and didn't know what to do and now I have awakened plague heart and I was wondering why it's awake..thanks!
Yep that happened to me i was so confused when it wasn't there anymore and then i remembered that it was now timed, it was on nightmare too
Fueling the Plague is one of my favorite Curveballs. Just constant chaos. I got it with the more Toxic Bloaters in one game, and it was crazy. Not even Juggs could survive that combo. The zoms would line up at the edge of my base for a Siege, and as soon as one purple zom died, the whole wave went out like a string of Firecrackers.
On the other hand, I got Heightened Senses with Strange Mutation in one game, and the area they overlapped was hell. It was absolutely a 'no go zone'. They had better hearing, sight, and smell, plus they dropped lures when they died to bring in more zoms, and they had Headless so they kept fighting until they bled out.
Awesome vid, I imagine it took quite a while to get footage of every Curveball with how random they are.

Thank you for the updated list! Fueling the plague is a blessing in disguise since it's a high risk, high reward way to efficiently destroy all the plague hearts in an area.
I like the curveballs and the variations and mixups they add to the gameplay. My one dislike is not being able to turn them off and on individually. Some of the curveballs are massively out of scale with the others. Black Plague Heart is very very potentially a full wipe, for example. Whereas most of the others are more of gameplay mixups, BPH is a completely dominating new questline essentially that must be dealt with immediately to the detriment of every other concern (and it still can easily wipe you).
I'd like to be able to select which curveballs you're exposed to individually. Or at least have two classes of them with the bigger, more extensive ones with a separate ability to turn off/on when you don't feel like having to deal with them in any particular playthrough.
I like the suggestion, but if that's too much work to allow them to be individually allowed or disallowed, I'd settle for being able to turn off the Black Plague Heart. Of course, to balance that out, doing so would have to disable the Broken Plague Heart, but I'd take that tradeoff.
I downloaded the game a couple of months ago, and my first community, while I was still learning the game, got hit with the BPH that drained fuel and drained health. I'm just glad its weakness wasn't melee because at that point, meleeing plague hearts wasn't something I enjoyed until I learned about the infectious gas phase and stuff. I was able to eventually take it down with a lot of preparation and online research, but it definitely temporarily soured my experience as a new player.
Since then, I've generally kept the curveballs off until I clear a map of plague hearts, because I really don't want to randomly be thrown into "masochist mode". I get that some people like the game to be hard to the point of frustration, but I prefer a more balanced gameplay experience. Since the BPH is on a completely different scale of difficulty to the other negative curveballs, being able to turn it off allow the masochists their fun while preserving the fun of the other curveballs for the rest of us.

Getting "fueling the plague" on lethal zone is nutty in my experience, especially if you aren't in a good state to deal with it early on. You end up with a HUGE area of the map where it's almost su1c1d3 to drive a car, and fighting the heart itself is a complete death trap if it's in a small building.
its great that they are still supporting the game but it would be nice if they gave those types of things as options used to play this game to chill out and mess around cant even do that anymore

Bullet benefactor can be way more useful than it first appears. The exact effects vary, but you can get a supply drop of weapons or ammo and you can also get additional weapons, ammo or consumables from containers. For some reason you always seem to get two of the same item: I've gotten 2*custom AK, 2*spec ops AW, 2*thermite grenade, 2*pentamezin. I'm fairly certain "higher chance to find X" means items are added to two containers in the area, whether they have already been searched or not, and the extra items disappear if not collected in time. I just got 2 AKs from containers even though the description says "higher chance to find ammo".

Just one thing RvidD. I played a couple of months ago and got the "Radio Silence" effect right in the middle of a 4 heart cluster so I couldn't do anything about it (Lethal, fresh start). I shrugged and carried on plying planing to attack the area when I could, but the curve ball ended before I did anything. The hearts where still there (and asleep) and I never visited the tower.
I don't know if this has changed in an update as my gaming computer's SSHD broke and I'm having to replace it so I can't test/use it right now.
Black plague heart event is a very fun event. I hope it appear more frequently

You get helpful curveballs when you struggle. For example, you have the chance of getting influx of meds when you have low meds.
When you do all the missions and destroy plague hearts, you have the chance of getting news travels. The opposite is, viscous rumors.
Each curveball has a trigger. I don't know all of them.
How many curveballs can be active at a time ? i saw 3 max.

No, I haven't tested that. But that shouldn't affect hearts.

I can't stand some of these curveballs, especially the Black Plague heart. Whenever it appears, I leave the county for another territory.

Number 15 should be the standard setting, tbh. It's immersive.
I can't stand the curveball. All the extra announcements take away from the overall feel of playing. Starting to feel more like a child's fast food gimmick for something that was already worth ordering. Now it's getting too cheesey.
You can turn it off in the settings.
For me, those difficulty curveballs are Explosive Gunk Zeds, Purple Toxic Bloater (1 hit kill when you are in vehicle), and Zeds Hearing Sense Increasing (Unlimited spawning Zeds in Lethal Zone when you are detected by 1 Zed).
The worst curveball is Blackheart which will keep hurting you slowly.😢
