I can't find a positive way to take this hire. We are just hoping that a first-time coach will figure it out and win multiple trophies. This is Messi's team. He controls everything. Hopefully he knows what he is doing.

AI being used in sports is a whole new game-changing element no one could have predicted 20 years ago. Using it to pick coaches is unimaginable. It's money ball and technology taking it to the extreme.
The point is , Miami needs defenders and Goalkeepers and good defence strategy, Macherano was one of the best defenders in Argentina, Macherano played in Barcelona, so he knows the way Messi, Suarez, Busquest and Jordi needs to play… And Messi is a Winner !
It's like you said Will at club level Mascherano's totally unproven, Danny's right they need to give him a chance for a few months, Mascherano might turn out to be a genius, alternatively he could flop, the truth will probably be somewhere in the middle, whoever it was, they need to achieve something big (an MLS cup, a CONCACAF Champions League, etc), he needs to sort that defense out
@MLSMoves well it all depends on if he can accomplish things Tata's objective would've been win a major trophy or bust, I assume Mascherano's objective is more or less the same, let's see if he can do it

MLS is a tough league to adjust to, especially for a first time coach.
