JA Offers All Expense Paid Trip To Olympic Volunteer That Assisted Hansle Parchment

- The hosting of the just concluded Tokyo Olympics was a challenge to say the least. Originally scheduled to be held in 2020 the games was postponed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. A third waves of the virus threatened to derail the games yet again this year but against the odds it was held. There was a story that emerged during the Games that came to define the Olympic spirit of triumph through adversity. As the story goes, an athlete took the wrong bus and ended up at the wrong venue for his final. However fate intervened in the form an Olympic volunteer. She not only pointed the athlete in the right direction, she even gave him cab fare. He would arrive in time at the right stadium, compete in his final and win the gold. Sounds like a scene from a movie. The athlete is Jamaica’s Hansle Parchment, who won 110 meter hurdles gold. In a show of solidarity Jamaica has offered an allexpense paid trip to that volunteer and a guest. Here are the details of that story.

WOW !! SHE DESERVES THAT AND MORE, SHE HELPED PARCHMENT WITHOUT EXPECTING A REWARD ANS SHE GOT AN INVITATION TO JAMAICA AND SHE WILL BE TREATED LIKE THE QUEEN SHE IS. HER PARENTS MOST BE VERY PROUD OF HER, THEY DID A GREAT JOB.
I am very proud of Hansle for winning the Gold and for showing appreciation to Tijana I am also proud of my country and the tourism ministry for offering Tijana this free trip to Jamaica as a token of her kindness towards Hansle ....this makes her a honorary Jamaican in my books.

I had the good fortune of having two vacation in Jamaica decades ago and the wonderful people of the first trip prompted a second which was equally rewarding. When I saw this story on another channel I couldn't help read others about the deeds of the woman but perhaps greater was Parchment's search for her to thank her, show her his gold and what her effort contributed to and gift her a Jamaican team shirt. Now to top it off the generosity of the Jamaican government to honor her with a trip to the beautiful island. Hey, visit Jamaica and be a part of the wonderful life. I salute all Jamaicans.

Great job , just one point she wasn't a volunteer. She was a contract staff member. Volunteers wore blue uniforms during the event. Doesn't change what she did, just wanted to point that out.
