The triathlon is so underrated, the fact that these guys can all swim well, bike well, and run well and do all of them in one endurance test amazes me.
The Brownlee brothers are just amazing. How can one family produce the two best triathlon competitors in a global population of 7.5 billion people? It's just unbelievable.
Agni Das the Polgar sisters are amazing chess players but they weren’t the strongest humans in their discipline. The Brownlee brothers are exactly that so your comparison doesn’t work here.
Something oddly awesome about the 20 something guys finishing. Like to Croatian thanking their god, a Mexican on the floor and they’re all congratulating each other
This is the OLYMPIC GAMES, but that said who wants to just finish in any competition, you want to make yourself known worldwide for being great at a sport, who’s going to remember you for finishing?
I am a lifelong Powerlifter and Bodybuilder who has and always will be fascinated by the strength and muscle. Recently I have retired and am now fascinated by endurance sports like Triathlons and am training with swimming biking and running. I may never be a professional Triathlete but I enjoy losing all the weight and being light on my feet!
Wow, once the Brownlee brothers finished their race, I immediately had tears in my eyes. I can't believe my emotions, happiness, and pride for these siblings was so present. Just to imagine the happiness from their hard work and determination... I shouldn't be surprised, but maybe it's because the 2020/2021 Olympics are just days away and I am so pumped for them! This was a great watch to psych me up for the Olympics later this week! :).
It was a 30-minute 10k for the Brownlee and Murray, btw. I could run a 42-minute 10k and was considered super-athletic. I was often played as a fullback in football due to my pace and stamina. A 35-minute 10k was completely unthinkable for me. I'd have to specifically train distance running for years to be able to achieve something like that. And these guys are running a 30-minute 10k after a 40km cycle and a 1.5km swim. Utterly insane.
It would have been really nice if the announcers or producers were able to tell us the speed they were running and biking and stuff like that to have a better idea of what they were accomplishing
Agree, wanna see how that compares on avg to the other speeds of the professional sport. Like the only thing I know is biking, and biking at like avg 30mph(including hills) is what the pros be doing
Jane Njenga for a lot of athletes finishing is already an achievement. In triathlon generally there a no losers. Crowd cheers even for a last finisher.
You said it all! I am so proud of my Country, we may be small, but we think big😊❤ Also i am proud of all the dedicated athletes from all over the world. They all deserve a big well done ❤.
@@laurad9173 I agree but we had a trans woman compete in the weightlifting and 2 intersex athletes in the women's 200m who placed silver and bronze, both have far too high male hormone and cannot compete above 200m due to the unfair advantage it would give them over the women with normal natural levels, I don't think they should be able to compete unless they take drugs to lower their hormone levels or we may as well just let women and men compete against one another. Or else just let the other women take as much male hormone as they want to and then see who wins. They seriously need to look at the current rules and stop them being so unfair to 99.9% of women.
It's awesome how the brownlee brothers are the one who lead the head of bike group and others don't want and they won in run even after the hard bike💯💥
I have a friend who lives in Tokyo. I'd booked my flights. We planned to attend the triathlon and track+field events. The rumours about Corona virus were circulating. Next thing the Tokyo marathon was elite-only (regular runners were told to not pitch up). Hardly any fans on the route... And BAM! Before you know it, lockdowns were happening all over the world. What I'd give to watch the Brownlee brothers and my countryman Schoeman compete again :'(
The Olympics should have more marathonlike sports. The IOC should really consider to add Kayakmarathon, with the portages it’s going to be a spectacular fight. Something that is interesting and fun to watch.👍😊
Im a cyclist and run occasionally. Its insane what these guys are able to do. The amount of discipline it takes to accomplish this. This should motivate you watching to get off the couch
I raced ITU racing for 5 years prior to the Brownlee's and Alistair is likely the most complete triathlete we have ever see. He is exceptional at all three sports, and when he was healthy, like he was here, he was just unbeatable. He would always make the first bike group out of the water. You weren't going to drop him on the bike, and then he was the best runner in the field.
The Brownlee brothers are just amazing. How can one family produce the two best triathlon competitors in a global population of 7.5 billion people? It's just unbelievable.

Yeah, you have to be smart with your training as you have 3 different elements to get legendary at.
