Sheila.. same! Has never watched a triathlon before, in fact, this came on after I'd watched two fast skating competitions. Can't believe I sat through the whole competition. These ladies are awesome!!! I've now got a massive respect for them all x
Triathlon is not for everyone. The most I’ve joined is aquathlon. Open water swimming freaks me alone. Still scares me even if I am always doing pool training. Triathlon requires exhausting training plus the equippment and expenses for bike, Swimming gear/eqpt, renting pools etc. You can join a non competitive/chill race but make sure you meet the swimming cutooff. Triathlon registration is so expensive, too, so it’s a waste if you get cut off on the first leg of the race which is swimming ahaha.😅
I think these triathletes are so use to putting their bodies through these grueling competitions to were they are used to it. They are so tough, I have great respect for them!!!!!
I can only imagine what it feels like doing that as a competitor. Years of training, then setting off the line hearing the events music slowly fade away to the sounds of the sea. Then it's just you and your willpower, alone in the sea. Hats off to these people, every one of them.
I can’t imagine doing all that in under 2 hours, triathletes are some of the strongest athletes out there, this is such a physically and mentally draining sport, I really respect people who do this, wow
Watching them cross has me in tears. It's emotional for me, I thought I'd never run again myself. Not in the Olympics, I love playing Tennis so I almost was out of playing in High School and after High School. I can run now and move around. Just now I just found out about AU Footy and want to learn myself. So, I'm thankful for my support to run again. Take it from me, on your feet, in a wheel chair, however way you can. Go outside, it's beautiful outside. Safely of course. It's the bloody Olympics but sometimes it just gets to ya!
