    Banker locomotive sirf train ko push Karne ke liye Nahi attached kiye jate incase Agar ghat par coach ki coupling toot jye or train 2 part me divide ho jye to Banker locomotive break se control karta he ! It's tha main reason to attached Banker locomotive !

    Kripayaa mere 5 sawaalon ka jawaab dijiye if possible:
    1) Maine bahot si countries mein train mein yaatra ki hai. Sirf India ke trains mein hi maine dekha hai ki engine ki khidki par iron grill lagi hota hai. Aisa kyon? Grill lagaane ki kya vajah hai?
    2) Kya Banker Locomotive baaki ke locomotive jaise hi hote hain ya unka nirmaan special ghat chadhaane ke liye hota hai? Mere kehne ka matbal ye hai ki kya kisi Banker Locomotive ka upyog kisi doosri train ko (for example: Nagpur - Bilaspur Passenger) kheenchane mein use kar sakte hain?
    3) Kisi train ko adhik traction dene ke liye peechhe Push Engine lagaaya jaata hai. Kaun decide karta hai ki kitne engine lagne chahiye?
    4) Sab engines mein kisi station ka naam hota hai, jaise Igatpuri, Bhusawal, Arakkonam, Ghaziabad ityadi. Iska kya matbal hai? Kyon naam likha jaata hai?
    5) WAP7 (Wide, Alternating Current, Passenger, Version 7), WAP8 ((Wide, Alternating Current, Passenger, Version 8), WAM6 ((Wide, Alternating Current, Mix (matbal Passenger and Goods both) Version 6), ya phir WDM7 (Wide, Diesel, Mixed ) ityadi engines pe likha jaata hai jo sabko maloom hai. Kya Banker Locomotive ke alag se code hote hain?

    There maybe another reason for banker locomotives. On a severe incline , the following cars have a downward vector force which can stretch the joints between the cars . This can cause snapping of the joints or damage to them. Locomotive at the rear will counter this force and cause less stress while pushing forward

    the railways have either a 2 loco or a 3 loco MUed group.
    there is no 4 locos setup (which someone said ,3 is the max no of locos which can be MUed together, not confirmed though)
    so, what railways do is, if the train is a passenger train or an empty goods train, they add the 3-loco set at the rear but only last 2 are powered while the one closest to the train is simple dead weight, both its pantos will be down.
    but for heavier trains, all 3 pantos are up ie all 3 locos are powered up.
    sometimes even 1 banker loco can do the job effectively but for safety's sake, atleast 2 locos are always powered up)

    At raising gradients slope bankers at rare portion of the boggies bankers required but at falling gradients slope bankers are not required as the front engine alone controls the entire boggies attached to it

      In some heavy freight rakes, for descending ghat sections, extra locos are attached to the front of the train to increase the total braking power. These locos are called "braker" locomotives. That is why we see stuff like "penta WDG 4 locomotives heading a freight train descending the Braganza Ghats". Passenger trains in general do not need braker locomotives as the braking power of a single loco is more than enough to hold a rake at steady speeds.
      However, braker locos are rare on ghat sections if there are catch sidings provided, where an out of control train could be safely captured and stopped on a reverse gradient. The Braganza Ghats do not have such catch sidings, so every heavy train uses braker locomotives.

      Then the support will decrease if any one coupling of the locomotive breaks down, making the job more difficult for other locomotives to pull

      No, Banker locomotive should be placed at back because these is physics. When train pull only on gradient then it will run continuously there is not problem, but the main problem is that force will exert at backward due to which there is high chance that coupling will break

      Double decker container ke vajah se locomotive ke double height ki train hoti hai to height zyada hota hai over head wire ka, isliye pentograph utha huva hota hai, and all the over bridges are also with double height. Dedicated Corridor banta hai.

    An accurate video, going into the details of operations research for the train allocations. However, banker locos are not purely about pushing the load up the gradients. It's about ensuring that the load on the couplers does not exceed the tensile limits of all the couplers combined. At the start of the rake, the first coupler has to endure the entire weight of the rake in addition to the starting TE of the loco.
    Screw couplers can handle massive loads of over 7000+tons on level ground, which makes it easy for locos to go full throttle on passenger rakes, but on gradients of 1:100, these couplers can only handle a total load of 1700 tons (due to gravity), whereas a full length passenger rake weighs around 1300-1500 tons. This leaves very little margin for startup TE of the loco, making stops and starts on the grade very difficult. And the Ghat Sections in and around Mumbai have ruling gradients of around 1:37 to 1:40, which leaves screw couplers unable to climb these without the push of the banker locos.
    Even with CBC couplers, there is a limit of force of around 9,000 to 10,000 tons on level gradients, and on the steep ghats, they too end up needing banker locos, especially if the freight train is fully loaded. This is the key reason why the "python" rakes have to have a mid-section locomotive, to ensure that the lead locomotives do not tear the train apart with their excessive TE.

    Info to sahi hai phir bhi maine Karjat station pe dekha hai ki goods train ko 2 banker lagaye the wo bhi wcam 3.....our Panvel - Pune passanger ko 3 bankers wag 7 lagaye the😁😁😁😁😁 bankers to apni duty karte hai koi bhi train kyo na ho bankers to kon se bhi lagaye jate hai our wo bhi 1 line me hi khade hote hai jo train aayegi our jis bankers ka pehla number hoga wo attach ke liye ready rehta hai wo 3 ho ya phir 2 ..lekin aaj tak aisi ghatna hui nhi ki kam bankers lagne ke karan coupling bich me se tuti ho😂😂😂😂

      Push Pull requires two locomotive per one set of coaches, which can not be afford considering no of trains plying & available locomotives. Now Vande bharat trains having in built push pull locomotive

    There are lots of ups and downs between Bangarpet and jolarpettai section equivalent to Mumbai Pune section even then they attach only one locomotive in the front

      Depends on the gradient height as well. Mum-Pune and Mum-Igatpuri section gradients are massive and the climb is steep whereas Bangalore - Chennai, Bangalore - Makalidurga secton lines don't have that much steep gradients.

    Banker locomotives fulfill two purposes.
    1. Pushing is just one aspect.
    SECOND and the more important aspect is braking. In trains the braking system used is normally applied- it means by default the brakes of a train are applied by default. Only when the locomotives are attached the compressors must help generate pressure enough to disengage the brakes apart from acceleration. The rear locomotives assist the main locomotive balance the pressure required to keep the brakes disengaged.

    ❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯Shubham u make so many videos atleast make one telling people how useful it would b to have 8 vande bharat given to 8 cities infact of 8 vande barat 4can b made into 8 ie of 8 coaches or 8 so that 8 cities can run w 8 coaches nd 4 w 16coaches producex each month ie 12nos nd 8 given to 8 cities ie 100cities covered in total in a yr and each VB if it does 1600kms a day ie 8 can do 1hr runs of 100kms carrying nearly 1.44lalh passengers in 8 runs apiece in 8 cities as 1hr trains, rest of the 4vb can do 700-800km 8hr runs as intercity connecting 4-5citoes at 150kms distance ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏or pin this one decent decision can change India in one yr, 8 cities every mth

      Rajdhani ( CSMT ) has push pull concept. One engine in front and one on the rear. Hence it does not need bankers.

    Is the banker controlled by the main loco ?

      Apparently no. These bankers are attached only for these short distances and detached at Lonavala or Igatpuri and will have their own loco pilots. The pilot of main front loco will talk and coordinate the running through talks on the walkie talkie and by sounding the whistle to certain standard codes.

      @@manan3230 Yes, synchronised controls and inputs are there in where there are two locomotives either in front or one at either end where there are no pilots and in the second locos where two or more locos haul the train start to end. So is the case of 22221 Rajdhani Express via Manmad and Bhopal with extra locomotive at rear end of the train but no loco pilots there.
