Well those girls at that Astros game who were annoyed that they were in the background of an influencer's video and started to photo bomb the video, got harassed and doxed by so many online. So it doesn't seem worth it.

Back in the mid 1980's I had a mate that saw the news about the Ethiopian famine and thought (like the rest of us) 'Fuck, that's awful'... however, unlike the rest of us, he continued this train of thought and thought 'Fuck, I should do something...' and he grabbed a backpack and hitchhiked to Ethiopia from the UK to help at a refugee camp. I was mentioning this to someone I worked with recently who's a social media junkie and wannabe influencer. "Oh it sounds like he's got a problem." she chimed up. 'Yeah.' I replied 'Imagine doing something meaningful and that makes a positive difference that isn't to generate 'likes' on social media to compensate for your vacuous personality.' She still hasn't spoken to me for a few months.
And your life is all the better for it I would think.

You are not the only one. I'm not trying to paint all women with the same brush, I know it's a massive generalisation and there are still plenty of normal people out there, plus it's not only the female of the species… But I completely gave up on paying any attention to women about 4 years ago, everyone I met they seemed to be so lovely... and then the phone came out, and never seemed to leave their hand, everything was for Instagram.
As an aussie nurse working in an emergency department, I can say with confidence that the *vast* majority of animal attacks/bites/stings/kicks from specifically wild animals, we see are, probably, 96.9998% of the time against the same types of people, the "I just wanted to take a selfie with it" crowd, the "Was I fucking with it? Oh no way, all I did was salute the wild dingo from a distance and thank him for his service....that's all, and he just bit me for no reason" group, and the "What the fuck....so people were telling the truth when they told me poking a red bellied black snake might make it mad? Wow.....Mind. Blown!" crowd.
Oh, and never forget the good ol home grown aussie idiots!

The only issue is when animals kill, even doing exactly what they are well-known to do, they are often hunted down and destroyed.

We chose this line of work. Not to get notoriety, because we love to help people.
Sadly, doing normal but important work is rarely eye-catching or exciting and thus is unlikely to get recognized.
I think we should be encouraging influencers to take as many selfies with apex predators as possible. I think the benefits outweigh the risks it poses to non-influencers

The clip of the girl swimming with the alligator is actually an alligator trainer who’s worked with that particular alligator for many years. She’s an animal educator who happens to create content for social media too, not some random idiot thinking she can just swim with a wild alligator.

I've done a couple of beach cleanups, and I've got friends who spend their weekends doing beach cleanups, it's not exactly difficult, and the communities come together to do it! Watching Ozzy Man is like the Barbie movie, you go in thinking it's going to be stupid fun and then comes the insightful social commentary.
These Ozzyman videos are all I need to keep me updated on the influencing world going-ons. Humans have been in one years long sociological experiment with social media and the results keep coming in. Ozzyman's videos like these are great abstracts.
I could barely stomach this even with Ozzyman's classic commentary. So glad I never venture into this murky, trash-laden part of the internet otherwise.
