I think you vastly overestimate influencers here. Influencers or professional good-for-nothings, as I like to call them (most of them), are a product of society, not vice versa. It's true, to some extend they influence the customer market, but their reflection of delusional and entraptured behaviour of society often leads to widespread rejection.

Having a child just turned 13 who is not on social media yet, I’ve already shown her all the “tips and tricks” videos that Instagram models use to distort and flatter their actual figures and make the viewer feel like shit and damage their self esteem. Now she’s able to look at a photo and say “look, she’s arching her back or tilting her hips etc”. Giving your kids a finely tuned bullshit detector is as important for the online world as well as face to face interactions

We own a small marketing company. My wife was invited to an influencer awards party, where she was to be given some kind of recognition. It was an immediate no. She was a journalist, and we work hard to provide recognition to OTHER people that DONT get the recognition they need to help others in the community, or that they deserve for helping others. She refuses to call her self an influencer, because they are about one thing... themself. Many of the interviews she does never shows her face.

I graduated high school early, got 3 degrees, and now work as a weapon systems engineer for the MoD/DoD through BAE. I bring in a good pay cheque, £65k per annum which is about AUD$125k per year, plus overtime. That's for a minimum 37 hours per week but I usually work 45 to 50 hours a week.
Point being, I worked long and hard to get to where I'm at, and I'm on an objectively good income. Yet today I learnt that if I had boobs I could be selling my farts in a jar which would earn me what usually takes me 52 weeks in 1 week instead.

Obviously you are not Australian because if you were, you would realise that the use of the word bastard is VERY nuanced here.
