Never a dull weather moment here in Northern lower Michigan. Well at least this year our dumping of snow came later than normal. Here in Grand Traverse area at least. Nice shooting! And thanks for sharing information on your setup at this point. Love my FX, Daystates, Raw chassis, and Taipan Veteran's. But for power and the ability shooting slugs, FX in my opinion has the lead right now. Was going to get the new Daystate Delta wolf, but the dicking around getting them in our hands here in America has left me with no option but to get the mavrick. My excuse and sticking with it. Lol. Just the standard Superior .25 which is odd because I thought the Heavy liner would have been needed for the 36.2 and 38 grain NSAs. To be honest I only tried shooting these at first just to see velocities, but then how they grouped at 50 yards shocked me. Glad I pushed it out to 100%!!!!
Just picked one up today in .30 cal Bought the VP version with the 600mm barrel and aluminum 400cc bottle! 232 bar max fill...but I'm on the look for a 480cc carbon fiber bottle which will make this just what I wanted...hope to get some shooting in tomorrow!!! Freaking awesome groups with those NSAs...ive got some new .30 hybrids to give a go too!!! James from Michigan

I’m thinking of getting an Impact for this reason. My dreamline shoots the NSA 29.0’s 930-950fps and accurately but it feels overpowered for my gun. Is your impact tuned for maximum power or does it shoot the 33.5’s with grace? The carbon fiber sleeve definitely makes a difference!
@@tripleceas shoots them with grace easy i can turn it up and shoot them at 1035 fps if I want but but it feels a bit harsh so today I just turned it down to shoot them at 930 fps its perfect right now at the moment but it seems like every time I want to go hunt or just shoot my fx gun I have to check zero sometimes its on and sometimes its not cuz of weather especially with slugs I think slugs are very finicky its like your gun has to be in a good mood to shoot lol them perfect don't get me wrong my fx impact mk2 25 can shoot but it all has to be in line if your like me I like one hole groups lol but some days its not the case today I shot a .80 inch group at 100 yards and at 36 yards it was 1/4 inch group other days it will be 1 1/2 at 100 yards and 36 yards will be 3/4 inch group.... with the 33.5 nsa yesterday I shoot the 43.5 nsa man they shot awesome man I want to get a 22 cal barrel kit for my impact mk2 with a slug liner
Enjoyed the video and information you shared and looking forward to getting my hands on one up here in Canada. Unfortunately have be creative when it comes to suppressor I personally have been experimenting with wind strippers and the such it is what it is I live in a great country it's laws weather I agree with or not are beyond my control. It only takes a couple bad apples to spoil the barrel and unfortunately we are dealing with it. Enough rant love the distance capability of the platform and everything you guys are doing down there hopefully things will open up again and I'll get down to rocky mountain challenge and hopefully see a few of my favorites RUclips creators there. This gun comes with the newest .25 Superior liner which shoots both pellets and some light to medium weight slugs very well. I was surprised how well it shot the 36.2 grain NSA slugs as that is starting to get up into what I would consider “heavy for caliber”.I figured it would need the Superior Heavy barrel, but nope. Maybe if I pushed them faster they might need the Heavy liner, but at 895-900 FPS this standard Superior liner LOVES them!

That Helix scope works well with the Maverick, would you use it for shooting 600 yards with the Texan .457 ? I got a Zeroing block (Zero light pro mount) and a 45 moa cantilever I'd like to mount it on. Your opinion is highly respected .

Yeah, I was leaning towards a Titan. I saw your videos shooting small targets at different long ranges with the. 257, really impressive. So what’s the big selling points of the .25 over the .22? I know it’s a common question, but one I’m interested in knowing more about in the FX platform.
More FPE for hunting, but with that said - this gun has the capability with some small mods to take a .22 slug up to almost 70 FPE due to the large plenum.
Curious question being that, I’ve been a rifle hunter for years and have an abundance of good quality scopes kicking around. Do you need a special air gun scopes on these FX rifles. Or can you use a regular rifle scope? Thanks for a great video.
I've been seeing problems with the FFP Elements, but not sfp. Have you had any issues with your FFP? Cyclops Joe has a video on it if anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about.

Both! But if I could only have one - I would go with the Maverick because I like the ease of use. The forward valve adjuster on the Impact is the thing that is missing on this Maverick which gives you another level of adjustability, but also one extra thing to check if your gun all of a sudden isn't holding groups like it was. That has happened a few times with my Impact where that front valve adjuster gets bumped and throws off the velocity.
@@UpNorthAirGunner Would it possibly similar with vortex cantilever 20 moa scope mount? This is surprising to know that 25 grain slug would fly better even similar weight to the jsb pellets. I think the fx barrel does something about slug. I gotta rewatch your video, this remind me of AF TX LSS .308 capable sub 1 inch too.
I’ve got my superior heavy liner coming tomorrow for the 25 cal maverick. Those are great groups at 900 ish fps, will you (or did you) get the heavy liner and shoot the 36.2’s faster? I talked Justin at Utah and I believe he said 950-970 was yielding excellent accuracy. I’m hoping my gun can shoot 930-950 without the slug kit. ...just curious what you think. Good thing to add to your list - but those velocities are a bit much. Even if the gun could, you wouldn't want to go super sonic. You want to stay below 1050 FPS at the most.
We didn’t get that much down in Wayne county, thankfully. I love my .25 compact. Hades at 890 I get 60 shots. First reg at about 145, plenum reg at 125. Awesome accuracy with the hades at 50 yards. Current settings the fx hybrids at 915, it doesn’t like them but they might need to go faster. I’m leaving it set with the hades
Hmmmm, if you were really concerned about sub groups. You would have a original impact shooting 825fps. And save your money on the optics. I have the same scope and it is no better than the ATHLON 6X24X50 FFP. Sub $300. Only difference i see is power. But gow much power do we need with precision
Hmmmm I owned the original Impact MKI and it couldn’t shoot slugs even close to this gun! Pellets - yes, but I own multiple FX guns that can shoot sub MOA with 33.9 JSBs in .25. These are heavy 36.2 grain slugs and needs large plenum space to maintain that consistent velocity spread.
@@UpNorthAirGunner thats what i mean, with a .25 what could you possibly be shooting big enough to need that extra power. When you can repeatedly knock heads off of doves at 150yds. All for 150fps faster 33 grn pellet vs.36grn slug whats that get u maybe 20ft lb more
shane stamball It’s not about power, it’s about precision at long range. The BC of these slugs are twice the amount of the 33.9s and three times the BC than the 25.4 pellets. The flatter trajectory and less wind deflection is what I’m chasing. The additional FPE is just a bonus and when hunting predators like coyotes - you want all the FPE you can get.
If you mean the cost of the ammo - I agree. .30 cal can get up there shooting a bunch of times. The actual gun itself is the same price no matter what caliber you buy.

Do these .25 cal Mavericks come set up ready to shoot/hunt , or do the regs need to be set up to get decent velocity ?
They come tuned for common JSB Diabolo/FX Hybrid weight projectiles. For .25 that's about 950fps with the 26gr FX Hybrids
Wich one has the best accuracy: FX Sniper or RAW 1000X Chassis?

Yeah mine loves the NSA 33.5 gr with the superior and Sumo combo. It also likes to JSB knockouts but only when double stacking the Impact moderator.

Nice setup and shooting Chris. What type of scope mount do you use? Is this achievable with the compact or vp version?
I use a Burris 20 MOA PEPR mount and yes this is achievable with those other calibers, but you would need to move down to 25 grain slugs.

Good thing to add to your list - but those velocities are a bit much. Even if the gun could, you wouldn't want to go super sonic. You want to stay below 1050 FPS at the most.
We didn’t get that much down in Wayne county, thankfully. I love my .25 compact. Hades at 890 I get 60 shots. First reg at about 145, plenum reg at 125. Awesome accuracy with the hades at 50 yards. Current settings the fx hybrids at 915, it doesn’t like them but they might need to go faster. I’m leaving it set with the hades

Hmmmm, if you were really concerned about sub groups. You would have a original impact shooting 825fps. And save your money on the optics. I have the same scope and it is no better than the ATHLON 6X24X50 FFP. Sub $300. Only difference i see is power. But gow much power do we need with precision
Hmmmm I owned the original Impact MKI and it couldn’t shoot slugs even close to this gun! Pellets - yes, but I own multiple FX guns that can shoot sub MOA with 33.9 JSBs in .25. These are heavy 36.2 grain slugs and needs large plenum space to maintain that consistent velocity spread.
@@UpNorthAirGunner thats what i mean, with a .25 what could you possibly be shooting big enough to need that extra power. When you can repeatedly knock heads off of doves at 150yds. All for 150fps faster 33 grn pellet vs.36grn slug whats that get u maybe 20ft lb more
shane stamball It’s not about power, it’s about precision at long range. The BC of these slugs are twice the amount of the 33.9s and three times the BC than the 25.4 pellets. The flatter trajectory and less wind deflection is what I’m chasing. The additional FPE is just a bonus and when hunting predators like coyotes - you want all the FPE you can get.

Looks like the most inexpensive setup to get out to 200yards. 30 cal just seems alot more costly.
If you mean the cost of the ammo - I agree. .30 cal can get up there shooting a bunch of times. The actual gun itself is the same price no matter what caliber you buy.
