If you look inside the tail pipe, you will see the internal pipe diameter of the glass pack baffle tube. Make a bung with the same 2.75" / 3" diameter and the noise will reduce but power will not be affected. I have done this on my Apexi GT spec muffler :)
Nice video! The video proves it all 😁 I have dual exhaust tips and the sound was a bit too loud outside with some cabin resonance inside. I was embarrassed to start up in the neighborhood, but the silencers have solved the problem. Sound level is almost stock. The exhaust has also a slightly deeper and nicer tone. Went from approximately 90 dB to 78 dB on idle 😊
Have you guys ever tested an exhaust flow regulated muffler/exhaust? As in one that opens up a butterfly valve with a vacuum or like mine, with a sprung flap that opens from about mid-RPM onwards.. I have a Dynomax VT on my 206 gti and its strange, but not bad. Its hard to find proper reviews of that sort of technology
I drove to Wales and back to pick up carbon bonnet in my DC2 without that I'd need earplug... Shit even had 2 use it at track cause 113db was too loud for 105 limit :P
Honestly, I did not expect to laugh that much... Had to sub. Would this be appropriate for a long trip where I'm going to be just sitting at a certain rpm and throttle input for the most part? I have a single resonator that drones a lot with a cutoff that goes round that and I don't have to mess around swapping the straight pipe with a backbox because I really want to keep my cutoff being a straight pipe. It's just fine for daily commutes to work and stuff but way too much for a road trip
Good stuff guys. Was in 2 minds about sticking a couple in my 4 pipe Abarth exhaust as it's loud as fuck since I decatted. And the neighbours aren't thrilled, but I'm not up for that low after watching this 😎👍
vPerformance depends on the kind of funeral if you ask me :) and I could still ride as passenger in another car :) But I never had a problem taking my own Car until now. so you see this more as a temporary mod to the Car?
I'd drive my car either way. Chances are the people at the funeral are family/friends and they probably have bigger things to worry about than the STI rumbling as it pulls up. Love the sound!
That opening was hilarious. Kudos!
We sacrificed a lot of our dignity to make that intro :D
That part when he takes his glasses off and just throws them to the side😂 very informative yet fun video!
Glad you enjoyed it. The glasses did not survive :D
Gentlemen I don't think this could be better in any way, from the car to the humour. ten points!!!
Thanks for actually usind a sound metre. Most videos just record sound and you can't tell any difference
Happy to be of some use!

Is it like 50cm long?
What a pair off donuts

Muffler and earplugs. Essential road trip equipment for the modified car owner

It'll make a big difference to the volume, just make sure you take it out before racing!
What exhaust you have? and is it catback or turbo back?
That's a 3" turbo back decat with a toyosport rear muffler.
I know this is an old video but, would this be suitable for motorway driving? And did it remove exhaust drone?
If you do any fast driving on the motorway, no. The drone disappears but it's not exactly safe.
So the baffle is actually a 3 finger baffle? 🤣
My exaust doesn’t have the holes on them to install the baffle. How would I drill one?
Use a punch to get a centre point for the drill bit, then use a metal drill bit like a cobalt one.
Realistic situation
They LL rattle like feck to!
Is that the Monster shirt and hoodie combo that comes stock with the STI?
Don't forget the Hooters cap.
Ha, I couldn't see the text on it, but that's great attention to detail.
And pounding house music. :)
Has anyone ever tested this silencer and found out how HP is lost? Thank you!
Lol I’m looking for an sti dB killer too
Where Can i get it
Aliexpress!
can any car be remapped
Most can - not the really old stuff though. It's turbo cars which benefit most from a remap though.
Yes not sure if they know what they are doing lollll
That should probably be our motto.
lol
Dafuq is a backbox
Another name for a muffler 🙄
@@vPerformance just call it what it is. A muffler
We're in the UK, so sometimes it's a backbox.
Please guys, never do this to your car.
But what if you have to attend a funeral?
vPerformance depends on the kind of funeral if you ask me :) and I could still ride as passenger in another car :) But I never had a problem taking my own Car until now. so you see this more as a temporary mod to the Car?

Absolutely temporary. Only for when the Subaru has to be deployed super early in the morning without annoying ALL the neighbours.
oh okay! I thought this was something more permanent :)
