- This is a short very basic install video for a front mount hitch for my truck. The hitch is for the 14-18 Silverado 1500.

FYI for anyone that is curious 2017 Silverado 1500 is same setup as a 2015 Sierra 1500.

Is this front receiver hitch strong enough to mount a portable multi-mount winch as a substitute for a permanently mounted winch? I'd like to be able to use the same portable winch in the front and back for extraction. And store the winch inside the cab. Thanks
I carry my CRF 250X on it all the time. It weighs 225lbs plus. No issues.
@@4against1productions67 Okay thanks. I think the hitch can tow 5.000 pounds? I wonder if it would be strong enough to to handle the load of pulling a stuck truck?
@@dantimber You would want to pull out a stuck vehicle from the back. The pulling gear ratios are better suited for going forward than using your reverse gear. Also if your pulling from the front and the strap breaks, it might go through the windshield instead of just hitting the tailgate.
@@guysteel Good point. I'd prefer to not permanently mount a traditional front winch. How could that be used to pull backwards when you're by yourself? Also it adds additional weight to the front axle.
Warn's Multi-mount winch can be used on any receiver hitch, front or back, strong enough to take the load. I like that versatility but there is a question in my mind if this front hitch will handle the load.
What lift do you have on your truck? I have a leveling kit but am looking to get a little bit higher.
