This is one of the nicest cars you've shown. All the goodies are there. Back then, it was common for buyers to order a two barrel 383 knowing they could easily upgrade to 4 Bbl unbeknownst to the insurance company. I would be surprised if it doesn't have a Sure-track as well.
Hi Steve, I had a "66" Sport Fury with buckets and console similar to this car. White with a red gut and also had fender skirts. My question is what was that style shifter called?
I called it the 'Shower Head' shifter. When I was 12 or so, (1978ish) the guy across the street brought home a '68 or '69 Satellite. He was a used car salesman at the local Ford dealer, so he was always bringing something home - like a rusty '73 or '74 Nova two door, with a straight six and three-on-the-tree, and white Starsky and Hutch stripes over its dark blue paint! That Nova might've been a hatchback too. He would drive them for a few weeks and move on to another. One of his daughters drove an early Maverick Grabber, in red with black accents, and custom tail lights which I've never seen since. So this Satellite was pretty decent except for a little rust on the rear quarters. It was medium green with a white vinyl (or it might've been painted metal) roof, with the Magnum 500s, and a buckets/console interior - and that shifter reminded me of the shower heads we all had in our houses which all had identical fixtures. I believe it had white seats too! He sold that car to another older guy around the corner, who kept it for years. I never knew what engine it had, as I was just beginning to wake up to engines at that age.
Amazing project!

A 67 has the turn signals in the front bumper. A 66 has a solid front bumper with the indicators flanking the headlights.
