Cool! Great tour of a rare car. I never knew about the 13 inch wheels, wow, weird. You didn't mention the fold down rear seat. My friend (now deceased) was in the Navy in 64 when this came out. He had sooo many stories about the car. He really loved it. He bought it new. His was white. A 273 ci, also, but it was a 4 speed, 4 barrel. I can't remember if he, or the dealer installed the big cam and get this...2 four barrel intake manifold(!), and big cam that he had in it. But kept the 2.73 rear gear in it. He kept it because whenever he got leave, he would blast off from Virginia, where he was stationed back here to Corpus Christi, TX. To maximize time off, he wanted to get here quick. And he did. He was a true hero. He was on the USS Enterprise and did 2 tours of Vietnam. His job was painting airplanes. He passed 4 years ago. Edward Foy, R. I. P.
14.4 square feet of glass.had a 65 and kicked butt with it. What a surprise for a 273 . Got out of the navy had my brother in the front seat my mother and aunt were in the back seat bad clutch and beat a 340 dart . 👍👍👍 😎 the old hippie
What a good time going back through these auction videos! I’ve seen most of them before, but because of their brevity it’s easy to forget some. This little Barracuda just begs to be back on the road. Besides a general restoration I would only change one thing… that hideous paint. Three on the tree and a two seventy three? Yup! One more thing, love that guitar lick intro!
My aunt had a 1964 slant six barracuda she bought new. Drove it 200k .it set for 10 years behind the barn after retirement. Neighbors bought it aired the tires up put gasoline and a battery in it and drove it home
Baracuda 65 273 v8 was my first american car, super cool car. Now i own a 2018 Ram, and a 1971 Mustang conv. I live in Sweden, were gas cost 9$ p,gallon.
cool old barracuda, my brother in law had a formula S 273/4bbl/auto car that was parked in back of his machine shed for years, I didn't know that he had sold it until it was too late for me to snatch it up, barracuda wasnt my cup of tea as i had a 71 roadrunner at the time
Mine was a 64 1/2. 225 slant w/an aluminum head and intake topped by a 4bbl. Backed by a floor console 727. Limited slip rear. This was in the late 70's and parts were unobtanium. The local dealer searched the vin and said the car didn't exsist! They ended up offering me a huge sum for it. I think it was reclaimed by plymouth. Like an experimental that got out of the back door somehow. It was a ripper, really fast
0:46 "But with that said" ? This catch phase is now on nearly all reviews of any/everything?!!.. 'having said that' however, good review of an interesting weird small car with massive truck motor under hood.
A rare one indeed. I had a '64 Valiant Signet with the 273 and 4 speed. I didn't know that a "three on the tree" was an option for the Barracuda. The A/C on the early "A" bodies had the evaporator under the dash. Dash vents didn't come until later. Maybe it was the 1967 re-design when they were added. My uncle had a two-door sedan with 273 and three on the tree. Would that have been the "V-200?"
No better channel on RUclips - thanks!
We had a 65 & 69 barracuda fast backs back in late '70s. Loved them! Wish we still had them. I could easily live with this colour.

Spent my childhood riding under one of those huge rear glass domes!
Dad set a class record at Lakeland TN dragstrip in his gold Barracuda.
That’s one great looking car! And still in great chape! Very impressive!👌😎👍
God bless Texas thanks Stevedaddy!
Wow! Nice project car! I’ve never seen a V8 64 with a three on the tree. Solid, honest car!

This is so cool my dad has one it’s a 4spd 273 no a/c but it does have power steering.

The US were behind us here in Oz. All Aussie Vals had 14" wheels. Only 4.5" wide however.
That rear window alone is worth a couple grand!

Also 64 was the only Barracuda that had a Valiant emblem on the trunk.
The back glass is worth $thousands$!
Imagine that car with a 340 6 pack out of a 1970 TA Challenger or a AAR Cuda with a 4 spd that thing would haul the mail
Mopar guy

Those rear windows make for a good snow sled....if you dont smack something solid..................
❤❤❤❤❤
👍🌠
I would guess this Car to be worth 8 to 10 grand !
I'm interested because my father had one very briefly circa 1967. But that shade of green does not work on that car!
Hammer down $7k could have bought it loaded brand new 😂
