I had 2 of these. One short panel with slant 6 and manual. We camped all over Mexico and Central America in the 1960s and early 70s It wore out so I bought a window version 6 cyl with a stick and it continued as a 2nd family utility vehicle. The mid engine worked well to warm the baby bottle. They were rust buckets but super cheap to own because I could fix anything on it. One time I bought replacement synchros for $7 at a junk yard and swapped them in. I still wish I had a short 90 inch restored A100. They were so much fun.
In 1980 I had a '66 same green and white but had a wide white stripe through the center. It had the 273 in it that I pulled out and put a '70 340 w/ the DC purple shaft and headers from a Swinger. Business up front and party in the back.Lol!
The pipes are Rod holders for surf casting
I think those pipes on the front bumper were for fishing rods, all you do is turn them vertical and place the rod handle in for fishing when parked near a body of water.
Get well steve
I know an old dude who drove off a bridge in one of these loaded fully with brake shoes. It landed in a dry river bed nose first. It was bad...dudes legs crushed...too a long time to get him out from under 2000 pounds of brake shoes. He lived. Cool vans but not safe at all ..I love the styling...
Get it running, and drive as is! Wonderful find!
3.55 gears and V8 is an odd combo in one of those. Wonder if it had a trailer towing package or a higher GVW than the avg Dodge van.
One of the best yet
Good Lord is this thing clean! What a fun little weekend cruiser you could make out of this van! A little backyard mechanical work, some TLC on the interior and trim work, a fresh coat of paint in that original green hue, and the next thing you know you’d have a real “head-turner” for running to Lowe’s on Saturday morning!
I agree 1000-percent (YES, I said one THOUSAND!). It was / is clean. And it only sold for $1,610!!!

A108 in vans, A100 in the van/pickup
That would make a great wagon....clean..
That Truck is looks clean no rust. That can be restored pretty easily. Just put a brand new fuel tank and go through the engine and brakes.👍
I’m going to take a guess, and say this was used to tow a drag car, and the bars on the front bumper were for pushing the car to the line maybe?
I Love this Van ! to me ,,, it's worth six to seven grand - Easy !!!
My first vehicle was a 66 one side glass it was a retired phone company van and New England was not kind at all.
The rear lower corners rotted away as well as lower side panels. Had a bunch of great memories made with it .👍😎👍
