  • Haunted house, or was the duck playing games?
    Heating investigation in a beautiful domestic property here. the customer had left the filling loop open to constantly fill the heating system so the boiler could heat up. The worst thing about this was the PRV (pressure relief valve) wasn't discharging outside, it would have just flooded the property if the pressure went above 3 bar! MADNESS!!
    The leak detection went well, and the leak was located in a fairly good position in the property compared to other places.
    Once a repair was made, a pressure test confirms the system is holding pressure.

    Fabulous editing.
    That PRV looks like the work of Bodgit and Scarper.

    Considering how much water was escaping into the sub-floor, does this need some sort of treatment to help dry it up?

      It being such an old house the ground under the wooden floor is just soil , no concrete . It will soak in and dry out .

    I have a problem with those drawer ornaments in that bedroom. What's that all about. Oh, and plastic fittings on copper pipe? Is that a thing?

      Circulating water for heating is never pretty - rust from the radiators. But it stops as soon as all oxygen in the water is consumed.

    More push fit rubbish. Soldered fittings don't pop off .

    • @normanboyes4983
      @normanboyes4983 3 месяца назад +1

      They (soldered fittings) do pop off, if done poorly. This channel has shown a few.

      Push fits are good if installed properly with pipe inserts when required and tightening up.
