Just pulled the trigger on a used Deluxe Bass Big Muff Pi, Cheers boys!
Both versions of the deluxe, and the russian muffs were my favorite.
Also, I can't tell you how happy it made me to see you guys turn them all on at the end! Haha, perfect finale.

I'm a Muff guy.. the best tool for blending the Fuzz and a clean bass is "The Big Bottom" by Tym Guitars. hand made in Brisbane Australia. its was design from the ground up to with the Muff in mind.

That built in gate seems awesome! Switchable crossover seems cool for switching up textures for lead sections. Cheers guys ☮️
Ive got a Boss LS-2 recently and its excellent pedal for putting a clean bass through on one channel and same bass though a pedal on the other and then adjust the volume of both channels until it sounds awesome and they come back out mono. Means you can use much less bass friendly pedals and still be bassy
I know the channel dudes mentioned it at the start but thought id put it in writing for bass pedal beginner people 🤘

Hi guys, that was a bad-ass video! Great stuff! I've been owning the "original" Bass Big Muff for about 10 years now, Will, would you say it's worthwhile to switch to the new nano-shaped Green Russian instead? I really like the punchiness which comes with it in every demo, a bit more in your face and plug and play. I like the versatility of the Bass Big Muff, but as you rightly say, the Dry mode only adds the dist ON TOP of the dry signal and doesn't blend them, resulting in a too massive volume boost which can cause problems live unless you just add in a tiny bit of fuzz over the clean signal. The Deluxe is overkill and too big for me though, so I'm ruling it out - I already have a VtBass Deluxe by Tech 21.

+Eman Carbone Thank you! Normally, we'd recommend the Deluxe but since you've already ruled it out, I'd say the Green Russian Reissue would be a solid choice.
Based on Will's review I was set to get the Deluxe Bass Big Muff, but because the companies I use with zero interest payment plans don't stock it, I got the Bass Big Muff. Not through with the video yet, but damn! I really like the sound of the Deluxe Big Muff! And as pointed that's technically for guitar!
Please do an ultimate comparison vid of the OG Green Big Muff, Russian Pickle, Ehx Russian and Wren and Cuff Tall Font.

I'm liking the Bass Big Muff, but I think I get better sounds with it on my passive Squier Bass VI than on my active basses. Still wanting that Deluxe BBM. I like the blend and the lpf & hpf. I'm really curios how it stacks with envelope filters. I have a QTron+ and sometimes run the BBM through its effects loop. I also have a BassBalls and an original MuTron III and I get crazy synthy tones staking all three. Curious how the DeluxeBBM would play with all of them.
I think JHS Muffuletta is also honorable mention.

For NIN type fuzz, think either Brassmaster or Superfuzz based circuits.
The 'Germanium 4' model has nothing to do with the Big Muff circuit; it's merely the name. (afaik)

The Russian Muffs are cool but waaay overrated. Tall font, bubble font, black, owned them all. NYC, op amp, deluxe, little, still own some of them.
The Sola Sound Tonebender MkIII sounds better than all of them imo.
I’d take the Bass Deluxe Big Muff if I had to use a Big Muff.
Jimi Hendrix couldn’t have been given one of the Original Rams Head Big Muffs If the first version of The Big Muff (Which Was The Rams Head Big Muff) by EHX was released in 1971 because Hendrix was already dead by ‘71. Jimi Hendrix died in 1970......
Zach allen-zimny He was given one before full-on production models were released, the Big Muff circuit had been around since the early sixties.
Bassic Gear Review, that’s what I was thinking, but I wasn’t sure. All I know is that Jimi used a Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz Face, & several different versions of Fuzz/& Octavia pedals built by Roger Mayer throughout his entire career.

While not as ballsy as the other basses, (personally, I really like that Sterling), I think the Schecter has a nice clean sound.
