- I've officially seen all of the DC new 52 animated movies and all I gotta say is my mans cannot catch a break literally gets decked in every movie

it almost feels like his acrobatic skills are either downplayed or forgotten
Well second fight scene he fights batman who is also a well trained acrobat who can dodge gunfire so obviously acrobatics won't do much there and when him and batman get into a explosion in the video in that movie Jason ambushed them to begin with so it doesn't count same with the deathstroke fight he led him out into a ambush without any bat gear to help out while deathstroke using some gadget's and nightwing was injured half of that fight and deathstroke had the up hand with the element of surprise

Dick Grayson has already:
- made himself equal to Batman, has beat him from what I've heard, and may even be able to surpass him (from what I heard there were comics where he already did surpass Bats and Bruce was proud but if it really hasn't happened yet then I'm sure Dick will surpass him someday)
- maintained and improved his acrobatic skills even after he left the circus
- has impressed Batman with his skills in acrobats and combats to the point where even he wanted to learn some tricks
- was able to sneak up on the Justice League in their secret meetings and they only knew about it after he wasn't interested in hiding anymore
- has beat one or some of the Flash members against a race that took place in a complicated maze
- successfully snuck into Area 51 long before it was even a meme
- beat Slade Wilson/Deathstroke in fights
- beat The Court of Owls and that one time he had to be a member, he was even considered an equal or even stronger than the rest
- been skilled enough to be an agent aka Spiral
- proven to everyone that he's a better, clearer, and brighter version of who Batman was supposed to be and the purpose of Batman and this was Bruce's words btw. Bruce wanted to make Dick grow into a hero that didn't have depression, trauma, and darkness fully consuming him and he succeeded in that goal.
- done so much more to prove why he would be the next Batman besides Tim Drake (who surpassed Bats in detective skills and was the only one that figured out how Bruce wasn't truly dead)
There are videos, comics, and other stuff to showing how Dick Grayson is one of Batman's greatest successes and how Dick Grayson/Nightwing showed how he's his own hero instead of staying under Batman's shadow or having people always lump him with Batman. Dick has already done multiple, incredible stuff and went on several journeys.
So idek why they nerfed his growth and abilities in these animated films. He left Batman before joining Teen Titans and went on his own journey afterwards before finally becoming Nightwing so why diminish his growth like this? The few animations I could think of that recognize and respect his abilities and progress are Teen Titans and Young Justice (and people have lots of opinions about the later seasons and someone said that he got killed off so I can't tell if YJ has also screwed Dick over). I'm sure they could introduce Batwoman, Damian, and the rest of the Batfam without nerfing tf out of Dick and other people. And even if Dick hasn't beat or surpassed Batman yet that doesn't mean Dick should be a nerfed, sparring dummy for everyone to constantly beat in the animations. There are comics that showed how they're all strong and different from each other without necessarily turning one of them into a constant punching bag - by constant punching bag, a good example is how it's mostly Kenny from South Park that gets killed compared to the rest of the friends - so why do this with Dick in the animations? Other characters can be introduced without having to nerf and diminish Dick's true abilities like this (I don't see any of that happening to Batman, some Teen Titans, Damian, etc.).
And based on the replies people are arguing on whether or not Dick has become equal or surpassed Batman. Regardless of whatever the answer to that is, it doesn't change the fact that it's ridiculous seeing Dick's abilities, skills, and progressed being disregarded in these animations, seeing him nerfed more severely than the rest of the characters, seeing him thrown around and lose without putting up as much of a fight as he's capable of (and even if there's a fight where he will lose, we know he can do so much more and make his opponents struggle for a while before that loss even happens), and seeing him get this treatment just so the other characters can look impressive when I'm sure there's more than enough room for everyone's abilities to be displayed without having to nerf and put down one person. Like the spotlight is large enough for Dick and everyone else. Look at ATLA, there were fights, wins, and losses but they showed how badass and skilled everyone is with their own abilities and how even with the losses, they still put up a good fight and it still took effort for their opponents to make a lose happen.
He's so fucking based in TT and YJ. He recently basically figured the entire plot of the season 4 YJ on his own, with the others only providing information and stuff.

Technically he’s in the running for Arguably top 2 spot behind Batman himself, folks love to claim Tim as the 2ND greatest detective in DC to first if Batman isn’t around but Dick has shown he can keep up.
Folks just wanna give Tim a purpose since he was stated to be the worst fighter of the Robins and is pretty much useless since he doesn’t provide moral support nor Brain sometimes… others can fill that role like Barbara…
There is also Batman TAS and The Batman.

Honestly Young Justice, Teen Titans, and the Arkham Games/Batman TAS are essentially the only media I've seen DC actually respect the rest of the Batfamily in. I freaking love the rest of the Batfamily, especially Barbara, and wish that they would be given the proper respect they deserve in mainstream media. Hell, even in the comics they sometimes screw them over (I'm looking at you, Batgirl of Burnside). I'm excited that they seem to finally be doing this in some capacity with the Gotham Knights game, but at the same time I don't have high hopes for it as the gameplay and overall structure just doesn't look good.

@@kozumekenma9157 you might like him more in the comics because he leans towards Dick more so they have a good bond (except for Injustice) and he’s good with animals. Because of him, they have additional pets including one named Batcow because of the brown fur covering its eyes. Damian also goes on journeys to make up for what he’s done and he learns how to get along with some other kids

My man literally gets the Vegeta treatment in these films. They both look badass and sure, they’re more or less equal to Goku/Batman.. but they’re always getting their asses kicked to set some sort of example and to make Batman/Goku look a lot cooler when they show up to save the day.

Nightwing is supposed to be the world's greatest acrobat and equal to Batman in combat skills. I have no idea what these movies gain from downplaying his skills so badly, except for trying to make Damian and Bruce look better in comparison. I think we can all agree how ridiculously OP Damian was here. The kid's 10. I don't care how much training you have, a 10 year old can't handle half of the shit he pulled in these movies. He's a great character, sure, but if the writers can't show that without making the rest of the cast look incompetent, then they're bad at their jobs and they probably haven't read enough comics.
fr I don't necessarily have favs among the Batboys and I recognize Damian's strengths and how he can progress further but even he got beat by Dick, Jason, and/or Tim (like in the Robin Wars) so why is all that power and glory going to just Damian like why not share it with Dick

At least I’m Under The Red Hood, Jason was more or less on a similar skill gap and in Bad Blood he was facing a Batman who was trying to kill him, but the other examples were pretty inexcusable. You don’t just run up to Scarecrow without a plan.

Let's face it, the writers just hate NW as this video shows and just wanted to do that to him when he should be able to by this point, EZily destroy Scarecrow. Thinking of consistency, NW is the way better fighter, he knows his fear gas, his Fear illusion didn't even make sense...
Selina has never faced off against Scarecrow, woulda made sense if she jumped in since she's more ruthless than NW naturally but the writers woulda had her 1shot him. If NW was switched out with Damian like he shoulda been, Damian woulda 1shotted this Emo clown. If literally anyone else, he wouldn't have won.

The real reason why is because in the dcau he is vegeta. They need to show how strong the villain is so they have the villain beat nightwing up.
To those saying nightwing isn't the best fighter of the Robin's. He is by far the best. Not only due to experience and age but also because he just is better. Batman has said it himself to damian before it goes dick, Tim, Jason, damian. But Jason would beat Tim because he's stronger and more durable. As far as potential goes. Damian will one day be the best fighter but only because Tim's ultimate path leads to hanging up the cape and cowl and being a hero using his brilliant mind and the assets of Wayne enterprises.
Yeah i keep seeing alot of Dick downplay, mostly from people who've only seen the movies. People forget that he's one of the few robins to actually beat Batman in a fight. Also Jason doesnt beat Tim just because he's stronger and more durable, he's also a better fighter as of new 52, this was confirmed by future Tim, and pretty much equal to Dick at this point.

Superman was actually done well, I'd say. I feel The Death of Superman (2018) is the best DCAMU movie.
